Quote from Stölzel :This Track does not work... I get every Time an Error on Loading this Track "Could not find a suitable video mode." Frown

Change your resolution and then try again, then switch it back. It should work after that. I've seen a number of AC users encountering this issue.

Anyway.

As far as the AC Blackwood HD version goes... I think I can see where you're all coming from, but why are we all griping over the fact that the Blackwood HD creators changed some things to make it fit AC's status quo?

If anything, as I see it, we should be happy that they've made these changes. Everything they did refined the track to a more AC-esque level while still maintaining it's feel. After all, it is the go-to demo track for LFS, which (need I remind you all) is a game that's nearing it's 15th year of life. Can you think of a game that has been continuously maintaining the hearts of its' fans for that long without making bullsh*t sequels just to make money? I highly doubt that - and don't humour me on this point. :P

One final point I feel that I should make, is that some of you need to check Lynce's work. He's been doing some fantastic texture work on a lot of the tracks, and it really does give the whole game a really 'fresh' feeling. Ranging from curbs on Fern Bay to the brickwork on South City, he's been getting into the nitty-gritty details that only a great texture artist could, by using photo-realistic images as his source material.

Regardless, I'm overjoyed that the AC Community has integrated such an iconic track in this game into one of the newest games of the racing simulator scene. You should all be proud to be a part of what made that track so damn iconic.

Just passing this off as a thought. Maybe some drivers might want to consider using a sequential shifter setup (in the options) instead of using the clutch and burning it out so quickly. It does help when it comes to race-times, I find.

Moreover, these races are starting at roughly 3pm my time. I don't think I'll be able to attend these. Will there be any races starting at 1800 Hours (6PM) in the Americas (GMT-5)?

Quote from Breizh :That's too bad.

I hope you're being sarcastic. XD

Moreover, (from time to time) I'll play LFS whilst using Tweak, but realistically, the game is far more entertaining and rewarding when I play the game the way it was intended to be played.

Kinda hence why I've always enjoyed the GTi racing, more than the TBO, GTR, or Open Wheel racing series (BUT the KY500 is quickly approaching!).

Egh. I think the biggest issue of the day is that a lot of people that're posting here are greedy and want more sooner.

Sadly, you can't have an amazing-feeling game AND have all the content in the world. You need to make a compromise, and I think the Devs have made that decision for the better.

At least this factor sets LFS upon it's own pedestal, as opposed to the over-crowded "Quantity over Quality" ideals that the rest of the world is infected by.

The only reason that it had 'slow FFB' is because it's worn out. When you try an out-of-the-box one (ie. purchased, removed it from it's packaging, and tried to use it immediately), it's a lot more responsive.

I, too, have recieved similar PMs, but I only reply to people that I know personally, or have messaged in the past. Most often, if I see something I don't want to get involved in, I just delete it - it's not worth losing LFS over it. XD

Yeah, was thinking the same thing. Might want to increase your ram, but that's about it. Perhaps overclocking your CPU, and upgrading your graphics card to something like an EVGA 8600GT (personal recommendation) might help out. The card itself sells for around 60$ in todays money. New, it was worth 200$.

Personally, the method that he mentioned is the most effective way. >>;

You know, I'm sure that if you planned on using that clay circle as your cockpit, you're gonna need a lot more than just a wheel, mate. @_@

Also, as a note to OP; You might want to reupload your image so we can actually see what you're talking about.

Generally, the FPS loss totals out to -10. It's done the same thing to mine, considering both of our computers aren't even close to mid-range. What are the specifications for your current setup (including all peripherals)?

O_o Alright. Well, I left it as is; I'm too lazy atm to fix it

I'm loving the new texture resolution!!! I'm sure this will be a huuuuuuuuuge download when it's done (whenever that happens to be).

Pretty much. It's kind of a balls-ache to tone it down, because you have to edit EVERY parameter.

Taking note of what Bmxtwins has said, he is right, but as long as the wires are properly prepped, soldered and reconcealed, you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm speaking from experience, as I own a pair of P11s myself and the same thing happened to me. Only way to resolve it? Solder it.

The way I see it is that it's just come uneducated driver that's trying to get himself unbanned so he can continue with his self-justified onslaught against anything that isn't as pure as racing seems to be in his mind. He needs to get a life, get over it, and find a different game to be a tryhard at.

I'm currently running this one, too. It looks and feels absolutely beautiful.

Also, as with the guy above me (forget his name), I've turned off the motion blur. Sure, it looks stunning, but it's a bit of a problem when your laptop/computer is lagging behind.

I recommend this one to anyone.

By the way, with a few other mods, Blackwood, Kyoto, Fern Bay, and Aston look amazing.

I don't think it'll be that big of an ordeal for people that want to run this skin. I'm only on a bottom-of-the-line eMachines laptop and even with like, 200MB+ of mods/enhancements, I'm still hitting 50fps with 3 other programs running. It'll just take LFS a short while longer to load the .DDS (DirectDraw Surface) files (textures) when you select or change track.

Aside from that, the rest will depend on how much you are taxing your PC.

By the way, for those users that are running ENB/Bloom Effects, it really does harm your FPS, so I'd advise running without it unless you want to take some screenshots and/or make videos. It really helps and makes LFS look (and feel - if your PC can handle the load) that much more realistic.

^^^ Just change it to Chromo_Plain (the blank one), as it doesn't leave that annoying darker streak along the sidewalls... Unless that's another DDS file doing that to me. xD

As a starting wheel, I personally advise to start with the DFGT. I have one right in front of me (right now), and I have no complaints, aside from the clutch and H-shifter. I'm fine without them, but I think they'd provide the best experience.

Start with what you can afford (or if you want to play it safe), go with the DFGT.
