Well, this lfs stuff is just sad, say what you will, in lfs s1 progress was good...
I mean, if there is no progress maybe people aren't really trying.... see the late evolution to netkar pro, the game was almost grounded to a a stop and now they picked up the pace... How hard can it be for a professional on a almost full time... no one is seriously trying...
I would like to see how things would have turned out if it wasn't for the leaked s2 0.5F...and the rushed out the door demo... with the demo out they just relaxed...
I really wish well for lfs, there is no thing as to many sims, but really, really sad for this, if there is no progress by lack of will and determination then be honest... that was the intent of lfs wasn't it? throw away with big money hungry companies, be yourself, don't be like them...

As i see it i preorder S2 back in setember 2004, and now almost 5 years since, s2 is not yet released, if that is not ugely disapointing i don't know what is... stop patching, gain courage and release it already... even if just a status change, its a statment of moving on...
remenber the s1 days? when there was REAL progress? thoses were good times inded...
i wish them the best really.... wish that s3 will be good enough to give lfs a new life.

Well... i'm still waiting for s2 since christmas 2004 and it still an alpha... 2009 mmm... i wounder if the 0.5f(lx8 yes...) hadn't leak and the devs rushed the demo to distract the fact that it had hapend... maybie we had better progress now... maybie in road of s3...
fact is lfs its largely unchanged in at least the last year, and if i dont boder mutch(as i now mostly play other sims) its quite sad to see lfs this way... i really, really, really wished for better... really...:ashamed:

I would say that your problem is cpu based, lfs is very cpu demanding and whatever video card you would have you would allaways have poor fps performance... not only in lfs anyway, that cpu is a botleneck to your system.

I had one celeron 2000 years ago... even in s1 i had very few fps.....

Try buying a used P4, should be really sheap, and a 1.8 would do...

Your cpu will never run the game mutch faster than it runs now, not even with a better grafic card. If you can ty to get a P4, even a P4 1.6 is mutch faster than your cpu. As a said before l2 cache of only 128kb is to small, its the main problem that causes the lack of performance and it is the main diference to any P4.
I tryed my 2nd 9700pro on my celeron2.0 (512ddr266 mem) server and it has only 6700 3dmarks in 2001se, that is damm low, i can do that with a amd2000xp and a gf3ti200...
If you can go for a cpu otherwise turn everything off and it wont get better than that.
What i mean is that there is no anomaly in your low fps, the problem is your cpu and unless you change it the problem wont go away...

You can allaways try to overcloock it, celeron don't heat up that mutch, you can reach 2.6ghz in the stock cooler with no problems

Celeron's deal very badly with games with intensive physics engine, they have very litle amout of l2 cache(128kb in your model) so there is nothing you can do really..

I have a 2k celeron myself, but it is my server, no way runing games on it...

WGooden amd's are way more eficiente that celerons, in games you cpu is no douthl best..

The version is perfect, it works for online demo/s1/s2 and demo in lan, the only problem is s1 and s2 on lan.

I'm conecting to the server acording to its setings, demo mode if its under demo, s1 in s1, and so on...

As i said i'm only chaging 1 paremetrer in server seting(/mode=) and it should work, the ip's are the same, if demo works s1 and s2 should also work.

If some one as a home network and can test this it would be apretiated

Hi all!

Recently i tryied to run LFS at my home lan and a ran into some problems.
I found out that wille i could create and join dedicated lan demo servers i couldn't join if s1 or s2 dedicated lan games . i've come to remenber that i had the same problem in s1 once.
I made a test, runed dedi demo and it worked, changed only /mode=demo to /mode=s2 and it stop working and just says, type a valid ip adress, but it is valid because it works with the demo.
I never had any problems in creating dedi online servers but in lan ones....

Did any one else experience this?
