Quote from Flame CZE :Try looking into Options > View when in in-car view. There should be Clocks mode and Mirror mode set to real.

Yep, those are all set to real. Like I said they worked fine before I got my new graphics card, or upgraded to Windows 7 (one of the two)
Gauges do not work in interior view

For whatever reason in LFS now with my new graphics card (GTX 580) all interior gauges are competely gone, with no actual gauge or needle. The fake gauges in exterior views work fine. In SP it's just black and in MP it's a whitish gradient.

All my graphics settings are on pretty much maximum, running 2560x1600 on a 30 inch Dell 3007 monitor. I have absolutely no mods. On Windows 7 x64 with a Core i7 960 3.2 Ghz processor.

Epic fun: Slow UF1s on autocross tracks

I've discovered the most awesome and fun thing tonight playing with my friends Karbine and v[r]oom. Get a UF1 and put the maximum intake restriction and weight ballast (so it has 24 hp, topping out at 55 mph) and drive it on tight, technical autocross layouts, preferably with jumps :P

It's so damn fun, amazingly close racing, no concern for precision or anything, lots of bumping and banging until the end. Hardly ever have to use the brakes either, just turning or downshifting will kill the speed

I think allowing setups for road cars should just be a serverside option, and the server should be able to supply a setup for all clients to use if so desired, or everyone can just be forced to use the default setup.

I just got my (bought) Fanatec 911 Turbo wheel on Friday. Absolutely no complaints so far, it works flawlessly and it's brilliant, feels much more quality than the G25. I highly recommend this wheel.

Everyone knows that NFS's tire simulation is far better than LFS's. Besides, Live for Speed is just a lame version of Need for Speed.

I wish FSX would install on my new computer. It either bluescreens or refuses to read the data when I put in the 2nd disc. The disc is not the problem, either.

Quote from March Hare :Great way to win!

I did wonder why the front wheel went flying. Then I went and watched some crash videos of the game and have to say it looks like crap.

Rear wings seem to be invincible. Just as long the car has wheels it goes like nothing has happened.
The thing that bugs me most is that the cars break but the scenery doesn't. Especially one scene on some video where a rally car hit a stationary car that was parked beside the road. Rally car turned to scrap. Stationary one didn't even get a dent. In another some one hit a trailer that was parked beside the road. Again rally car blows to bits but trailer doesn't even budge.

Why make cars that turn to scrap when you crash them but litter the scenery with similar objects that don't.

Actually, those parked cars are literally the ONLY track objects that don't deform. EVERY other trackside object bends, breaks, bounces around, etc.

The damage in the default game is not programmed very well - the parts fly off too easily. However, I have made a damage mod which nearly entirely fixes the problems with the default damage, including making the cars crush more realistically and harshening mechanical damage. The car can die and be totally immobile without losing wheels with my mod. The visual damage is probably the best out of any racing game, with a little tweaking. Don't bring up FlatOut, that game has horrible pre-defined damage :P. You can get my mod here: http://community.codemasters.c ... m/showthread.php?t=208927

EDIT: It's odd that the wheels flew off that easily. Normally you have to be going at least 40 mph and hit a solid wall for that to happen. It is a bit buggy sometimes. Unfortunately there's no way to make the wheels harder to detach.

also, check out this video I made, it shows my damage mod pretty well (note that I've made the parts even less detach-happy since then) http://youtube.com/watch?v=cj9ZtzSFUcY

Well, the physics are utter crap, so driving to win the race isn't an option. This is much more satisfying.

Quote from Kristjan.J :I know the best solution, if you don't like how it is right now, then don't drive it at all.

Or, if you don't like how it is right now, you can POST A SUGGESTION in the IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTIONS forum.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Lets just eliminate the engines, and make them Flintstone powered, then you'd lose 2 things to whinge about, the sound and the engine.

Making a constructive suggestion isn't "whinging" nor is it whining. You can leave this thread and take your elitest attitude with you.

Also, once again. If you don't care, don't post. Very simple and effective philosophy.

Quote from JJ72 :a 3.5 V6 which only produces 220 bhp...isn't that a bit lame?

Why not have a 3.0L that produces 240, or something?
dude56

Quote from dawesdust_12 :because, I still find it stupid that "V6 = fantastic" is even a considerable idea. The cars are fine as they are, lets get some other new cars, rather than tweak the hell out of the cars that are already there just so it sounds better.

It's not just so it sounds better, we need some more variety and engines besides 4 cylinders. They aren't fine as they are, I'll quote you:

Quote from dawesdust_12 :people should drive cars that take a bit more skill, like the RB4 or XRT, the FXO is a noob machine.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Honestly, I couldn't care less, I rarely drive the FXO anymore, so do whatever to it, I'll still beat it. Hell, people should drive cars that take a bit more skill, like the RB4 or XRT, the FXO is a noob machine.

If you don't care, why are you posting in this thread?

Quote from dawesdust_12 :Yes, but it'd also be totally different from the TBO class, which the other 2 cars are Turbos, It'd be stupid to change it just cuz "it sounds wrong". Are you gonna start going "OMG LFS SUX, CARS RNT REAL LOLZ" now?

How would it be different? Turbo doesn't make that much of a difference on track and it's not hard to balance it. Would make TBO class more interesting. Karbine just forgot how extremely stubborn the community is. He apologizes.

OMG LFS SUX, CARS RNT REAL LOLZ

A naturally aspirated 3.5 litre V6 would have a very similar power output to the 2.4L turbo we see in the TBO cars now. Wouldn't unbalance it at all.

no omg you just suck at lfs, lfs is fine the way it is, omg use search been requested 500000 times omg

also it would unbalance it

also it is too much work for scawen give him a brake!!!!!!!!!!!!
