Quote from that site over there :If my friends could say no to cussing, how much easier will it be for them to say no to drugs, violence, and pornography.

He says it like swearwords make you take drugs, do violent things and watch porn...

FFS, WHO DIDN'T WATCH PORT AT LEAST ONCE?! and come to think about it, porno doesn't actually damage your health...or makes you a criminal... does it?

this kid is retarded (IMHO)
Quote from JamesF1 :Agreed.

I do, however, think that it's just one 14-year-old's attempt to - as he sees it - make his world a better place... can you really blame him for trying? Some people don't ever attempt to make the world better in their whole life, so for this kid to carry a motto of "Leave people better than you found them" at age 14, means he's at least trying to make a difference - even if it isn't a particularly well thought out difference.

Agreed.

I wouldn't say retarded, but sometimes good intentions can unintentionally block logic.
Quote from Mazz4200 :Tests have proven swearing is good for you !

As all good British citizens will know, trusting a paper that gets distributed on the bus for free, is a well known way of getting hard facts and good reporting

Exactly... how is porn bad anyway?
As George Carlin once said: "You show me a guy who does nothing but sit around and stroke his **** all day long and I'll show you someone who's not causing any trouble, okay?"
Same article I posted up in post 14, from a work website.

Edit: oh, and, porn ftw

Hrmph F*** off, yer smug B*****ds

It's sort of cute in a way, but haven't churches been doing this for years? "Join our 'No-sins-club" Maybe the church needs to hand out more t-shirts and rebrand to "Club".

I also don't like this "Leave people better than you found them" slogan. How arrogant, pompous, conceited and pretentious can you get? The whole thing rather whiffs of the church really, and I always suspect that there's an overbearing parent behind these "kid's initiatives" too.

Aren't they in danger of violating/are violating the 1st Amendment?

Hey, everyone knows that the only thing US-citizens care about is the second Amendment

And the 18th, and the one about porn :P

No offense, but look at those kids. Seriously.
They should be BEGGING people to hang around with them, not discouraging it.

Unless it's a sad attempt at being popular by attracting those with similar beliefs. That's like one step up from buying your friends, and two up from whoring yourself out.

"Raising a G-rated Family in an X-rated world"
G-rated? How boring would life be if that was all you could do? No booze, no sex, no violence. Basically, almost no fun.

And look at Lindsay Lohan to see how well a lifetime of G-rated movies sets you up.

They can all just f*ck right off.
Quote from squidhead :, porno doesn't actually damage your health.

It doesn't, if anything, it's good, because you're just cleaning the pipes, and your body does it eventually anyways, as a self cleaning mechanism, too bad we realized "ZOMG! LETS HELP OUR BODY, IT ALSO FEELS FRIKKING AMAZING SOMETIMES!"
Dustin, if I'm ever up in Canada and meet you, remind me to not shake your hand...
Quote from mrodgers :Dustin, if I'm ever up in Canada and meet you, remind me to not shake your hand...

Why, which bit of him would you rather shake?
Quote from Hockquan :EDIT: It has just occurred to me though that I think I would perhaps really like to own a 'No Cussing Club' t-shirt.

That's the first thing I thought too. I can think of a hundred different people who would love one of those for christmas.
The CD tagline has me sold - can't wait for its release.

Positive Music for Kids!

5 Great New Songs
to Uplift, Inspire & Motivate

If it's anything shy of AmWay's "Positive Music For Salesmen" tapes I had been given as a gift I'll be highly disappointed. So far my fav such material in my collection have been from a tape a Jehovah Witness that worked with me handed to me one day - thus dropping the inevitable J-bomb.
Quote from mrodgers :Dustin, if I'm ever up in Canada and meet you, remind me to not shake your hand...

Come on Mike, you know you'd rather shake something else... :hide:
Mind if I quote that? :P
Anyone seen the episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit on swearing? Was pretty damn funny.

I guarantee you those religious types who no longer 'cuss' sill still say 'Holy Cow.' If you've seen that episode of Bullshit, you'll see the irony and hypocrisy. (Hypocrisy in religion? NOooooo.. can't be... )
