I regret putting the GTR affix to my username, makes me sound like a ISI-based 'sim' fanboy and not an LFS one...
I don't mind mine. The TBO class is the most fun, ball bearings are great, and it has the double meaning that some people miss.

It got spontaneously shortened to BBT, which works fine for me.
mine´s way too general. plus i hate caps.
I wanted mine to be just plain Hammer. That name was taken by someone from Hong Kong that had never used it. Still today the person has 0 stats..... oh well
I wanted "Kalev" but it was taken by some demo racer so I slapped "EST" to the end.

I chose "Kalev" because it´s my real name and I don´t have any nice nicknames.
Enyone know where my nick is from?

It's too long with the NCR tag so had to take my other nick in to use as a racername.
Quote from AlienT. :LMAO, I was wondering how long it would take for you to post mate....you were quicker than expected.....you poor chap I had noticed from my time on the forums that you do get stick, I also note that you are a good driver

Thank you

Yeah well, i got fed up with my noobish name, so hello. lol :P

From Alice in Wonderland? :detective
I wonder how long it takes before people start calling you a cracker since your posting under a demo account now Niko. haha

yeah, i'll test soon, and also i created this to see how much i spam in a day :hide:
forgot I'd left the caps lock on...
Quote from ImportFantasy :i love my name, even tho ppl kept callin me that im a ricer...im not ashamed of it.Besides people that are on streetfire know who i am

what is that supposed to mean??
Quote from FinnishFlash :I was drunk when i created my lfs account.

like you ever do anything sober

ive used this nick for years now and i still havent grown to dislike it so nope no regrets here
Personally no regrets here either. A made up word I used for an email address which over the past few years has become my online name.

Only time I have slight regret is when people try and pronounce it and a few people have thought I was german

I'm quite interested as to why people use aliases at all in lfs.. (or online in general i guess).

I used to use an alias back in the days of qw, and most fps' since then, but in LFS it seems more natural to use your real name. For one thing, I'm keen on the idea of LFS being seen as a proper racing series, and you don't see real racing drivers giving themselves aliases Well, ok, Ice man, chinmeister etc, but that's not on the bottom of my tv screen when im watching

So yeah, the point of aliases seems to be a) for anonymity - why on earth would u want this unless ure gonna be a dick or something? Also, if some long-lost m8 comes onto a server, ull never know ure racing against each other (this happens occasionally, and cus of my name, we actually recognise each other).
and b) to look cool, which is pretty juvenile imo. No offense to everyone, since I know its just the 'done thing', but u know, its like rapper's hilariously stupid names designed to look cool.

So yeah, I'm just interested as to why people think you have to have an alias. As I say, unlike some online fps, this game is even more like a real sport that happens to be on t'internet, so why not be a bit grown up about it and use ure real name?

Ok, ill shut up now
Incidently, i realise that aliases are just a bit of fun etc and allow u to convey some personality or something..
but yeah..

Cheers,
Tim
I used to use this name in other online games some years before LFS, but now I regret taking this alot. Because I haven't actually used cannabis for over a year, and never intend to again. I'm seriously considering buying a new license to change my account name

I go by that nickname in real-life too, so everybody who knows me should be able to recognize me. Also it's quite a bit shorter than my full name and makes it easier to type, so there's no intention to hide behind that name or to look cool by choosing my nickname instead of my full name, it's just to make it easier for me
You have your nice and short "Tim Ellis" oppossed to my "Michael Herkommer"; I hope you get my point.

Anyway, nice first post
ok yer, point taken

Well yeah, I can agree with that. Aliases don't suit LFS, or actually I say it the other way, real looking names suite better! But the thing is that when people bought LFS they only knew it was an online racing game, when you buy a game or make an online account, do you think using your real name. That's the same with the Internet generally, you hardly use real names. But yes, they do suite LFS better than silly nicks, and you can see many people can agree with it, just look at the racernames under the avatars.

Same idea here, I regret letting dad use his full name (clare b sheppard) so a nic for him makes sense but as for mine I got no problems...most just call me shep anyway
This is true. But yeah, really the username isn't that important, its the racername that defines you online, and I see very few real names in servers, which is a shame
But certainly more than in other games, which is good
Quote from tim.ellis :I'm quite interested as to why people use aliases at all in lfs.. (or online in general i guess).

because if im not mistaken usernames were generally too short for real names in the olden times or if they werent users couldnt be bothered to type in their full name just to log on
therefore we have handles which are still widely used ... its jsut the rules of teh intarweb ... better get used to it
besides how many tim ellises are there in the world ? sounds like a relatively common name to me meaning that at some point youll be more recognizeable by a truely unique handle than by your real name
im fine with my username, use it for every account.

couldnt really be more inconspicuous

its spelt mysteroius because i was too lazy to remeber how to spell mysterious, so i just whent right to left across the keyboard.
