LFS UK Gathering Poll 1 - Are you interested?
Are you interested?

Full details here.
Flying 3500 miles (5500 km) to an LFS meet is not my "cup of tea", as they say.
Forbin: that'll be wahy the thread title says "UK" meet.

This might be me being stupid, but which month?

Then travel by sea.

There's nothing stopping anyone organising a US meet, there'd probably be enough interested people, although with the size of the place it might be difficult to get enough people to travel.

Oops, post ammended. To save you re-reading: April.

I'm interested but it's over 400 miles from me, so it'd cost me ~£80 on fuel, £7.50-£30 for the driving, who knows how much for a hotel/B&B and a whack for beer. Too expensive for my wallet.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Why did you have to go and do that for???

Ain't it bad enough for me to be living in Greece were ISP's suddenly decide to restrict your packets to something like 20-30 so you cant even play on-line most of the day???

Now i have to see thiss????

I'm Jealouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus

And i REALLY hope you guys and gals go, and have a great time
I'm interested...

I'm interested but being up in Newcastle the cost to get there (petrol) is gonna be quite alot (plus B&B, plus anything else), also it's 2 days after I get back from Dubai where i would have probably already spent all my money.
Southampton? lol
Will depend on me getting my wheels back on the road by then, but, yeah, might be up for that.

I'm flying down from Newcastle the day before, if you're very small, lightweight, and can survive with little oxygen or heat, I'll stuff you in my backpack and you can hitch a free ride.

Incidentally the flight only cost me £6 each way and £3 baggage each way (hand luggage is free). Then stick taxes on top. Surprisingly cheap.
I'm interested and don't have any other plans for that date.. yet Providing my calendar stays clear, count me in

Edit: Provided that I can go, and the missus doesn't want to go shopping in soton, there's likely to be space for traveling down from Bath in my car
I said I couldn't go because of the distance but depending upon whether I've passed my test and have got something to drive I would like to be able to go against that vote, would only be a possibility on a Sunday though.
i WAS interested as my birthday is April 18th, its a shame i live in north-west
I'd be interested. I think about an hours driving each would be about right, along with some other socialising/taking the piss of other drivers. If we have more then just have several 30 minute races or something.
I'd be interested in coming - depends on if I've moved back up to Milton Keynes or not by that date. A coach there from Plymouth shouldn't take too many hours I don't think.
Quote from LFSn00b :I would come, when is this? *Goes to order tickets*:hyper: :ices_rofl

I thought you booked tickets to come to the karting?

I'd love to, but I don't honestly see myself being flush enough to make it this year.. again

That said, I'm not the only one who could be travelling from up this way, and I can think of a whole car-full of possible victims for me to pressure, and split the travel costs with. I'll have a go.
Mmm tempting, so close as well. I might even be able to talk my housemate to give me a lift there or back. Though I'm a bit worried of not getting a single lap done with a clutch pedal :o Definitely interested and most likely will come if time allows
GPLs clutch modeling is fairly simple to get used to, you cant stall it and AFAIK for short runs you can shift clutchlessly and left foot brake with ease. Manual throttle blips are essential though. Whether clutchless shifts do any damage in the long run I dont know because I generally dont last that long

OT: Anybody else find that pressing the apostraphy key on FF 2 brings up the quick find box when youre trying to type a reply?
Does that mean I'd be cheating, because I've been driving with a clutch for a year already

156 miles away but wtf.. My job takes me 6000+ miles away a couple times a year so I'm interested if I ain't working. :Eyecrazy:
why bother when we can play online?

now if they where using the "Dynamics 301" it would be another story.....

Simon
I want to go to another meat up. But unfortunatly i dont think i will be able to make it at that time of year. Already alot going to be happening.

oh and read your post again Bob. i think i see a price typo (or atleast i hope i do)
Quote from shmall719 :why bother when we can play online?

I for one would love to try GPL properly setup and having a laugh racing it over LAN. LFS seems pointless because unlike GPL it isn't a bitch to setup and there's no real change for LFS regulars to make it worth the effort of going
