So who has pre-ordered Homefront
I am just in a dilemma of whether to get homefront or not. Crysis 2 is pretty tempting but I am scared that it's going to be a console port by the looks of the previews and crytek cocked up. I have hopes for homefront but some of my co-workers and friends think it's just a generic FPS with UAV's. Please share some opinions about this before I splurge on these games.

Looks nice.
I suspect Homefront will be utter bollocks. I agree with your coworker that it's just a very generic FPS.

I'd rather buy Battlefield 3, or even better, Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad, once they are out.
Maybe something to keep me entertained for a few hours until BF3 is out...

The story could be the only thing making it more than a generic shooter, and I fear it will be so crammed with hurrah-patriotism that it won't be enjoyable for anyone outside the USA...
Looking forward to it..
No hardcore mode=no buy from me.

I CANT STAND shooting someone with half a clip and they're still running around. HATE IT. If it wasnt for that i'd buy it.

Crysis 2 im probably getting, just because i kinda liked the demo and im sure the single player will be decent.

BF3 is a must buy, no questions asked.
I caved in and bought it, seeing as the dev's put a lot of effort into making a lot of features predominant on the PC, i thought it should be supported.

Not bad, i dont have much time so i played for 1\2 hour, single player is good, multiplayer is awesome (the little i did play).
Waiting for demo or a good torrent to try it out first.
There won't be a demo.

and apparently the single player campaign is only 5 hours long. So I am definitely not buying this.

all listed along with Homefront will be utter crap.

Arma when it works or nothing at all ( for fun realisim... i.e team work n shit )

for fun.... ET or CSS.
The story is from a pretty well known writer, the game play it's self is pretty good, but the game falls flat on it's face toward the latter part of the game. The execution of the story fails, as well as the end game that's like getting to the dragons layer, and then rolling credits. The game box shows San Fransisco, but you only spend 1/8th of the game there.
Nope...looks as if it's not gong to add anything to the genre for me.

This however, is something I'm looking forward to.
