Quote from brandons48 :How much steering lock can you give your cars in Forza?

You can't change it. I'm guessing it's around 36 degrees. I really was suprised to see no steering lock adjustment considering how much they advertised drifting in forza 3.

Quote from brandons48 :In GT5 you can tweak it up to 50.

That's my favourite part about GT5P, steering lock adjustment. Too bad that tire physics destroy that part, as drifting doesn't feel right.
still playing the rented game... XD

today i was annoyed by the germanness of my A598 Viper SRT10. I am amazed by the looks of it now... i just stared at the tv for 10 mins, just looking at the front of the car.... i need to tweak it a bit more and take some pics...

does anyone know if i can upload my pics with a silver account?
Just ordered FM3 Friend assured me that it was decent to play on controller, so if I do enjoy it I might buy either Fanatec or MS wheel for the xbox
can someone clarify how the controller works with the game? I was just playing Forza 2 and the 'help' it gives you makes controlled drifts nearly impossible. At low speed full left stick will turn your wheels all the way left. at high speed u might get ~7-10 degrees. is there a way to turn that off?
the steering on the pad is relative to the max slip angle of the front tires, you can't steer beyond some degrees beyond the ideal slip angle, so yeah drifting with pad is very hard.
oh thats gay. So all these drift vids and pics are made by people who shelled out hella for a wheel. This is the only thing I hate about console sims, they're geared towards people brought up on NFS and expect to be able to take a hairpin at 90mph.
Drifting with a pad in Forza isn't hard.
Quote from jibber :Drifting with a pad in Forza isn't hard.

Drifting with a pad is a piece of cake.

According to the review by AutoSimSport, T10 have added a "layer" to the controller physics that assist with oversteer situations on the pad, thus making it easier to hold a slide with the relatively small and sensitive analog thumbstick.

Wheel drivers don't have this, thus you could argue that its harder to drift with the wheel.

As far as I am concerned, FM3 has the best "pad" physics available.
Quote from BlueFlame :Gran Turismo needs to bring back it's "racing modifaction" option, that thing was the shit, My favourite was making a Subaru Legacy a Volvo 850 supertouring wannabe but damn it was good!

Was that the special upgrade that turned a Ford Taurus into a NASCAR?

If so, I badly want that back!
Quote from jibber :Drifting with a pad in Forza isn't hard.

It's not hard to hold it, but to initial it without using handbrake/shiftlock, but only with inertia and steering is hard (imo)

I agree completely. Forza is definately the best pick-up-and-play race games I've ever played, it's more easier and less boring than GT menus and stuff in a sense.
I have some nice screenies here.

Yes i donwloaded them from forza site and my god they are low quality!

It's funny that you guys are talking about Pads VS. Wheels, as i tried out the Fanatec wheel last night. My friend is a sim fanatic, and ordered it months and months ago, and it finally arrived Monday. He gave me a call last night saying he has got it all setup and if i want to try it out.

First thing i done was drive a Ford Fiesta round Benchmark just to get used to the Clutch and Force Feedback. Surprisingly, i got used to it very quickly. With a wheel, it does feel very close to LFS. The Fiesta felt like the XFG, especially on slow tight turns. Lift off oversteer felt fantastic!

Next car i jumped into was an E36 M3, as i wanted to see how close it felt to the one i have on my driveway. I bought a completely stock one, and drove it on Silverstone. I was a little skeptical about how close it would feel to my car, but i was pleasantly surprised. The car felt incredibly close, and I'm not trying to say this as a fan boy either. It really was VERY close to my car.

It wasn't all perfect though. The car would understeer a fair bit on some corners, which wouldn't happen in mine at the same speeds on a similar corner. Maybe fiddling with the tyre pressures would have fixed this. The M3 in-game felt alot stiffer than mine too. Maybe, this could of been down to the fact that the M3 in FM3 is a Coupe, and mine is a Convertible. I suppose the Coupe would have less chassis flex, and i *think* the Convertible has slightly softer suspension to cope with the extra weight from strengthening the chassis.

Overall, i would rate the wheel a 8/10 and the similarity with my real car easily a 9/10.

I am seriously considering buying a Fanatec. I just need that £400....
Wheel i would l9ove the fanatec but i think for me getting a license and moped is a better idea.
i was on bestbuy.ca looking for the price of FM3, coz i finally decided that im going to buy the game and i saw this review that made me laugh... XD

Quote :if u like cars, you go to bestbuy and pick this game up NOW. its not even your choice. if you dont buy this game, you dont deserve to own a car. real life physics, 400+ cars, amazing graphics, and a british voice actor. its like a dvd of car porn. and only on xbox 360. gt5 has nothing on this.

oh, guys, i got my learner's licence on thursday! so yeah, im going to drive for the first time of my life on a icy/snowy road... yay!
Just a little note for any of you who frequent FM3 online.

Avoid ANYONE with the team name "ScALD". I was racing these guys 2 nights ago with 2 other friends of mine, and they ram you and block the track if you are faster than them. It's a shame, as at first, me and my friends were having very good battles with them, and there not bad drivers in terms of skill (there also very high ranks too) but they seem to get upset if you are faster than them.

So yeah, sorry to name and shame, but i just thought i would let you guys know as a warning, as it really annoyed me and my buddys.
Can't wait to have a race with some LFS'ers but I'm afraid that will have to wait until after March, maybe even April.
january 12th i cant wait for new dlc

Just FYI so you don't have to bother changing it when you get Xbox Live, don't put your Gamertag as BlueFlame. Someone has already used it.

Me and beefyman66 were in GTA4 once, and it said someone called BlueFlame has joined. I instantly went "Ehm, are you by any chance BlueFlame from LFSF?" while chanting "please no please no ()" but luckily, it was some American dude.

Heh, I'll use Flammen, but no doubt thats taken, whatever I choose it will be something that doesn't have any numbers in, I like my originality

BRT is talking about this part...

Quote from T10 Blog :Preliminary numbers on the car pack are also encouraging, which is always good news for the community since, better sales on DLC mean more support for future DLC. And there’s DLC support coming in spades. Jan. 12, 2010 marks the release date of our next DLC car pack. In similar fashion to what we did during the lead-up of the Hot Holidays Car Pack reveal, we’ll be showing off spy shots for the cars in the pack and letting you guys battle it out – with prizing involved, of course.

yay! im going to get xbox live gold coz i helped my mom at her work....
