Hi!
Now you can build your own RPM Gauge!
I made software for this.

I packed for XP x64/x32 and for vista (x64)

Would you be able to post up or supply a download link for this program?
ohh i'm idiot i didnt post it

Quick reminder maybe: use resistors or you 'll fry the leds
Is it possible to use this with a USB to LPT converter?
just a simple (2in1) question:

Resistors value (Ohm)?

LED specifications?

thanks in advance
Quote from bingo87 :Is it possible to use this with a USB to LPT converter?

probabily not... because, normaly, the converter can't redirect all the 25 pins from the usb port... i think...

No sorry, its doesnt work with that coz this softver writing to LPT1 (888) ports

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED

see the leds specification i used standerd leds i know i over powered with 5V but low A and i use without resistors

2.
i calculated if you want to use resistors i think 500-560 ohm need it, but i dont know

Ok, thanx for the reply.
Then i'll have to wait untill there is a USB version.

Greetz.
i dont know how to make usb version
this works for XP 32 bits?

usb version is far more complex than you think... so don't even try if you don't know how-to

Having a USB version would require the use of a USB controller chip and a PIC, which would then require a bit of code written and a £20 PIC writer, in the long run it may be cheaper (and easier) to get a parallel port chip for your computer

Yes , i think its work, but i dont know the port i forgot

I like PIC chips and that more controllable, but i dont know how to use, and peoples cant make that at home
Indeed, it's not that easy to work with USB.
Gonna order a LPT pci card orso, that should do the trick.
Looks nice... considered making it a little "straighter", mounting it on a box and then on the back of your wheel where they'd be in RL?
I tried to get it working with an PCI LPT card, no luck.

The program is recieving the Outgauge packets from LFS but thats it,
There is no output, i clicked On and then SET.

OS: Windows XP Pro 32bit
LPT Card: sunix 4008t

Wich port is it???

i already bought the stuff... LEDs, Resistors, etc... (i'll post the pictures when its done )
i now know the port is 8000 i wrote in first post
if you want the old..PM me, i now makeing new version..+features
problem here...
not working... =( the software works fine, no port change needed...
the leds don't work... i'm trying using other IRQ configuration on my motherboard BIOS, but no success...

i uploaded new version of this.. try with that
do you have xp or vista?
first run InstallDriver.exe and restart your PC.
or try search lpt port controller software

i saw on the internet...need to set lpt port to "ECP+EPP" mod
