Gegry1992 project funny
its 100ms/sec like 10light up and down / sec
i cant out more flashing :\
or only my lpt is slow?
Quote from NPedro :....
i don't think it can damage the lpt port, maybe it could but in a long term... but imagine how the data is tranfered to an lpt printer, i think the refresh rate is way faster than the Gegry1992 project.

Indeed. but the refresh rate isnt the problem.
It's the current that is drawn from the port, 1 LED uses around 20mA.
Most LPT-port chips only can source between 2.8mA and 6mA(rarely).
That is why you need to use that ULN2023.
It's just the avoid that you burn your LPT-port.

@Gegry1992: I maybe found a solution to makr an USB version from HexWax, it's called ExpandIO-USB. The benefit is that you don't need to program the PIC. you just need to write the
to control the outputs.
i idiot for this
whats this?
you can write bytes for this? 255 is a max? or integer?
I'm still looking how it works, but i think that it works with Hexadecimal commands orso
i reading pdf..
00 00 00 00 Null Command
To avoid the need for switch
de-bouncing, scans are only made every 25 ms.
fast

i found this
XX-YY-ZZ
where XX is FS for full speed, LS for low speed; YY is
DIL for dual-in-line, PT for TQFP, or SS for SSOP; ZZ is
20, 28, 40 or 44 according to the number of pins. If XX
is not specified, FS should be assumed. ZZ is only
given only for DIL packages.

uhh too many numbers
i dont understand numbers - numbers connection
what i wanted was the ANALOG GAUGES for rpm, speed, fuel and turbo...

but, well... i cant find a DIY... =/

you know what? i'm glad to help Gegry1992 project and everyone who's involved

i'm glad with the 8LED bar project that Gegry1992 posted. Definitly will be part of my cockpit project.

thanks for everything

that XX-YY-ZZ stuff means how they build the type numbers for the
PICs.
XX= Is USB speed
YY= IC Packaging (SMD or normal......)
ZZ= Is total amount of pins when the IC is a DIL

I found some dealers that have them: Farnell for example, the link is from the belgium site, but they are worldwide.
I think that this is the most advanced , but its pretty hard to solder it because its a SMD component, it has the most I/O pins.
Most pins are bidirectional, this means they can be configured as input or output.

Try to read this manual, it doesnt contain the 40pin version,
but the 44 pin version has only 2 or 4 I/O pins more. so that leaves about 30 free programmable pins.
I think you can build a complete dashboard with it if you use matrix for the LED displays (for speedometer).

Same here
i seeing now tachometer...
its recrive spark from motor
spark=voltage...
can i connect tachometer to lpt port?
but you cant make over 100rpm i think need multipler

hmm, tachometer is analog, so you will problably need an D/A converter.
hmmz, i think i'm going to try this again tomorrow, my last project is just lying around :/ pics will follow next week
@Gegry1992: Is it possible to make the program use other LPT I/O adresses ??
I bought 3 different Parallel PCI-Cards and all are in:
1030-1037 & 1028-102F I/O-Range instead of the normal 378-37F
i'm waiting for the 7seg display software, Gegry1992

i don't know anything about programming... so...

cumpz everyone
i release it soon, sry i am sick

Please write how do you connected to lpt and i write it
Hello Gegry,
I tried several LPT-PCI cards and all are in different address ranges then the basic onboardports.
Is it possible to make a config option for the port that the LPT uses ?

I didnt wire the 7-Segment display because i can't test it.

my try
Hi guys! This is what i made. The first image shows the initial(test) version which worked perfectly(with 220 onm resistors) on win xp and integrated LPT port.
Than i wanted it to look beter so i made another(pic. 2. and 3.) and i am now facing some problems. This one is running on anothec PC.It is vista 64 and LPT that is connected to PCI(not integrated). As you can see on pic 3. leds are barely lighten and they just keep lighting like that. Not reacting at all.I was looking for that program that changes ECP/EPP but could not find any. Please help. And by the way I am not sure that drivers for my LPT port are installed properly. But as the leds are on I asume that it works.

i dont understand your problem 100%
Hi,
First problem

I tried this and it didn't work properly. when i test the leds on the software it works but when I open the game and try to play the leds won't lit. The software with what version of lfs works? Couldn't be because i didn't connect all the leds?

Second problem

"Live For Speed LPT outgauge Version 5.1.5" when I Click on "Indicator on" it pops up a small windows and tells me "======" is not a Valid floating point. And the version 5.1.0 won't tell me that. Why?
Hello!
When you press ALL LEDS then its trying to enable all leds.
But if the outgauge cant connect to lfs then the values is stay "=====" like nothing or 0
Try to open ports or configure your cfg!

PCI LPT Port is not supported
No shift light flash...Z25.....ON race car's NoT road car's!!!
Hello,I have made the Outgauge leds & have been using this program & all was working great,But after the last few recent patch update's I have a big problem with the shift light on leds......

(& yes,I have the little tick in the box next to it)
It just won't flash to let me know when to shift gears.

I am using Z25 & it has been happening with the last 3 or so patches..

I also know about the road cars no longer having the shift light's in game,But this is happening with GTR cars an any other's that still have the shift light...

Any idea's guy's
Yes sorry i made it for Z
Some flags has changed, but i need remake the software becouse i lost it
i had a format on all drives coz sata switched to ACHI mode and all thinks are losted
