Who had the bright idea to put an ice hockey team in the middle of the desert? I mean seriously, what were they thinking? Those people in Pheonix don't even have winters, so why would they have any interest in a winter sport? That's like having the winter olympics in Egypt, it's something that you just don't do for obvious reasons.
I am well aware of that fact. It was sort of a big deal. That's not what I meant though. I meant in the last year since then, the city has been kicked in the face both from the outside and within so many times, I am amazed it is not a smoldering pile of ruins, thought that is not far from the truth in many places. Hopefully things will go up from here, but it's hard to be optimistic.
I would agree and say that except for Malkin, every star in the series, wasn't. The players for Detroit who stepped up the biggest were players who had played more playoff games than regular season games. Abdelkader, Helm, Ericcson, and Leino aren't even rookies yet, they haven't played enough regular season games... why were Pittsburgh the young, inexperienced ones again?
