that car is hideous lol
Say to compete in LFSForum Wacky Races; GRLTD reveals a new supersonic bike
It is stated that today, Haruna Say (alias GTRYuni) will be participating in this year's upcoming LFSForum Wacky Races. He will be racing for General Resource LTD., a company interested advancing the future and thanks to Haruna, stuck in an endless pursuit of creating the fastest thing on two wheels.

His entry, however, is not a car or a truck like his rivals. In fact, his machine is in fact a micro-thruster powered "motorbike", the GR1500XG prototype that was found somewhere in the woods, still in OK condition. Haruna restored the bike to it's full potential, and had recently tested the bike at the Bonneville salt flats. In testing, with 40% power of the thrusters, Haruna managed to break 450 km/h within two miles. Because of the high speeds his bike can reach, his bike must be equipped not only with normal brakes but also airbrakes which disrupt the flow of air in a way that rapidly slows the bike down. Haruna can also control these airbrakes to corner tighter in case he's gone through a turn too fast.

But speed and ability to nip in and out of traffic are not his bike's only strength. It has been outfitted with the latest in weapons technology. The bike has been outfitted with two .50 calibre-capable machine guns, each able to fire at roughly three thousand rounds in a minute. If that is not enough dakka for a bike, a retracting mechanism on the rear of the bike reveals several other quart-sized gamebreakers: when it retracts towards the top, a choice of either mini-mines or another two .50 caliber-capable machine turret with auto targeting capability can be used. BMW drivers should beware. The side retraction reveals several missile pods, with a selection of homing, "straight-fire", and "flash mortar" explosives fitted to each. However, that's just the weapons mounted on the bike: Haruna's bike has also been outfitted with satillite communitcation to General Resource LTD's latest innovation in weapons technology and pwnage, the Orbital Satillite Laser. In the most basic terms, Haruna finds a target, calls up GRLTD's OSL satillite(s), and just simply watches the fireworks. For cooking, the bike is equipped with rear flamethrowers which are used both for a marginal speed boost and for barbecue. It also contains an internet and radar jammer to jam the internet of fellow racers, and to jam the radars of potential contestants using homing weapons. There is also of course, the all-classic EMP, which disables anything within it's 250 metre reach.

However, the GRLTD team did know that Haruna was going to have to travel a very long time to finish in the Wacky Races, and thus, various luxury and security items have also been equipped as well. The bike can be placed into "auto-pilot" mode, which slows the bike down to the local speed limit and automatically activates the side airbrakes according to the road ahead, giving Haruna some time to catch up on the latest anime episodes. His bike then broadcasts the shows locally to him on a small 14.5 inch screen, however small though, the quality of the videos is very high definition. He can also call his family at any time thanks to Bluetooth handless phone system, to allow them to catch up on the status of the race. His bike is also equipped with a specially equipped stereo system made from the absolute lightest materials without sacrificing quality, allowing Haruna to annoy the crap out of anti-anime fans by blasting "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" at roughly over 5000 dB. To protect the bike from most minor damages, a energy-based shield system was also employed onto his bike. Haruna can additionally use this shield system to squeeze the last few hundred km/h, but with the conditions in Wacky Races, it's unlikely.

In an attempt to bypass the "must have four wheels" rule, technically... the bike has two wheels per end. Kind of like those heavy-duty pickup trucks in America.

AP-

Although launched to some initial criticism, the Live for Speed Wacky Race has already attracted a fairly healthy number of entrants. With a week to go until the start of the race, it is possible for that list to grow even larger. When asked why he started the race, founder AmTGMan simply replied, "for shits and giggles."

AmTGMan, who also runs the DSRacing squad, a returning competitor in the similar FinalGear Wacky Race, has stated that, although he is pleasantly surprised by the number of entrants he has recieved, he is disappointed in the lack of teh funneh.

"I am grateful for all the competitors who have entered this inagural race, and helped bring some laughs with the eclectic collection of vehicles and co-drivers. However, we have noticed that all teams seem to gotten lazy when developing their cars. No testing hijinks, no problems with the car disappearing and reappearing as an oven mitt, no spectators being maimed. We feel it appropiate to suggest to the competitors that they consider writing some funny press releases, and create some problems and mishaps that are invariably cleared up before the start. To help with teh funneh shortage. And help draw in more competitors. Now do it."

In other news, reports that the worldwide everyone-getting-broke event would affect the race were told they are unfounded, and that all sponsors stated they would be glad to stay onboard. AmTGMan then retreated with an issue of Top Gear Magazine and a roll of toilet paper into a hastily made cardboard porta-potty with "ING" scribbled onto the side.

Related: Greenpeace and PETA retards gathered outside the DSRacing headquarters to protest the environmental impact of the race, as well as the treatment of animals by the team, with one such idiot claiming that "we feel hiring two anthropomorphic animals, and subjecting them to this torture is inhumane, and equal to the hardships suffered by the soviet people under Stalin's rule." When a member of the team, (Clay Alcata, one of the team's two drivers, both of whom are anthropomorphic housecats, or some variation thereof, to be precise) told her just how idiotic her arguement was, she responded "Well, we're still morally superior to you, and your sick, perverted team owner!" With that, Clay was heard to respond "Right. Turn on the sentries," and numerous heavy caliber, gatling gun and rocket launcher equipped sentries appeared and cut down the protesters. No one cried for them, although some may have been bullied into not doing so by the team's second driver, Jessie Aromando, a size-shifting anthropomorphic cyborg dragon-cat.

Unrelated, and bleedingly obvious: People suck.

Team Fang Shakedown Report. TOP SECRET!

Location: Utah Desert

Time: 11:00 hrs

General Notes:

Shakedown of Gryphon went well. Vehicle attains 0.984 Mach without AB at groud level, with AB, it does 1.040 Mach. The sonic boom can be used as a weapon.

F100-PW-220/220E Jet Engine doubles as flamethrower. Supercharged 5.7LV8 works flawlessly, was used to boost power output to 29,590 lbf, JATO boots to 30,100

Weapon Notes:

All bullet firing weapons calibrated and homed in. Missiles switched out for heat-seeking missiles. Solved problem by coding warhead with custom values. Untested as yet. Planned for tomorrow

Electronic Notes:

HUD locks up at low altitudes. Radar/targeting rerouted to avoid problem. Battery impossible to recharge. Found a 'LFS Forum' and an 'Off-topic' menu, neither accessible yet. Want to know what it is. Must ask DK for codes.

Driver notes:

Driver complained of boredom, wanted to set fire to and destroy things. Trained missiles on cacti and rocks. Tried to reprogram the computer to make tea. Locked everything up.

To Do List:

Calibrate minigun again
Test recoded missiles
Find out what the 'LFS Forum' and 'off topic' menus are in the onboard computer.

Fair Enough

Took the SD1 Rolls Royce over to a secret RAF base for first shakedown, weather was fine and winds light, we would like to thank the MOD for allowing us runway time, although we outstayed our allotted time slightly and had an encounter with a Eurofighter, they were understanding and declined to arrest us under 'terrorism' charges.

We chose an SD1 because it was cheap in Autotrader, we had done some research into Crispy Bikes and their potential benefits, but google proved fruitless.

Performance

So far performance is impressive, after getting through 15 clutches we finally got it moving, the car can do 120mph at just above idle revs in 1st gear, and easily accelerates to 260mph at which point the SD1 suddenly tries to fly. Theoretical top speed if we get the aerodunamics sorted should be around 320mph.

Engine and Gearbox Notes

Running fairly smoothly, some minor problems such the ingesting of dirt, small animals and some other stuff that wasn't nailed down, but damage was only minor. Fuel mixture a bit rich, resulted in burns for those standing by open exhausts, am glad to hear it's not too serious. Am yet to hear from the land owners over the large grassland fire which also occured.

We had some special gear ratios made for optimum top speed with a slight sacrafice of acceleration, 0-60 time is now a less impressive 1.5 seconds

Tyres

Slight traction problems for standard Dunlop road rubber.

Chassis and Suspension

Currently being hammered back into shape as I type, Rover clearly did not design the SD1 shell with having a 1600hp 27 litre V12 installed in mind, a very short sighted move in my opinion, which probrably lead to their eventual downfall. Limited budget means we cannot afford new shell or custom suspension. Ride is very comfortable but perhaps car will flip in high speed cornering.

Handling

Added weight of engine causing minor understeer trouble, we hope that straight line performance will offset this.

Offroad perfromance nonexistant.

Aerodynamics

Backflip at approx 260mph, Demon Tweaks have front spoiler in the post.

Brakes

Team have decided that they are too troublesome and so decided to do without them.

Weaponary

303 Gun proven effective against nearby cattle, we have added a second 303 and have them trained to focus on a point 200 yards up the road.

Managed to bag an ex RAF Gyro stabilised gunsight for £10 at North Weald market.

Rear flamethrower is proving tempremental at the moment, sometimes lighting sucessfully and sometimes not and dumping oil onto road, however this can be used as an additional oil slick mode.

Electrics

Using standard Rover alternator was perhaps a tad optimistic (original WW2 one was missing when we purchased the engine), was not up to the job and it soon burst into flames, has since been replaced with an industrial grade one often found on small ships.

Just incase S14 Drift enters the race, we have bought a rack of surplus stadium floodlights off West Ham United and have mounted them on the aftermarket roof rack that the previous owner of the SD1 had fitted, the plan being to flash them repeatedly to distract him off the road.

Regrettably, Haynes do not do a manual for any Merlin engined vehicle, so finding out what which control switch for the engine does (no panel was provided with the engine, so no labels for switches) what has taken us some time, however we have found the switch for the higher boost setting for the supercharger, giving us a gain of around 50mph in speed.

We have installed a HUD in the car made out of a sheet of glass that was lying around at the nearest builders merchants, and a projector we found from 'somewhere' wired to my mate's PC which he doesn't yet know we are using, ducktaped to the floor in the passenger footwell and powered off an adaptor from the cigarette lighter. We are hoping that the UKCT people will lend us a copy of the X-system to provide data and stats for the HUD to display. We have yet to work out how to get insim applications to connect to real life.

As for Radar, the WW2 set we acquired from a breakers yard is too big and heavy.

Driver notes

Driver complained of noise and lack of comfort, as well as chronic understeer and the engine's apparrent urge to fly like a Spitfire again above certain speeds, we told him to shut up or he wont get his free lunch.

He does however, complement the car on its acceleration and speed and the fake wood trim interior.

Other

We doubt that the DVLA will give it a certificate of road worthiness, even if we try to convince them it is a kit-car, but you can't blame a man for trying.

Notes and To Do List

- Find a longer runway.

- Pay fine for destruction of airfield noise meter.

- Pay for destruction of local prize-winning heifer.

- Install front spoiler and CTRA X-system

- Contact US govt over possible purchase of this...

Team Fang Shakedown 2 Report, Not quite so top secret!

Location: Alberta, Canada

Time: 14:00hrs

General Notes:

Car performs well in cornering, a 490kt cruise on the freeway confirmed this. Also drove it in mountain roads, car performs well at low speeds, throttle is too responsive for low speed use.

Afterburner set fire to apartment building, we had to pay for the repairs. We now need a cash infusion.

Weaponry:

Heat seeking missiles locked onto a passing 737. We had to manually target ground-based targets, it is pre-programmed as an air to air missile. Fixed by launching it at a 5 degree angle, as the missile is used to droppig then firing

We then tested the guns, linked all of them up and fired at an abandoned patrol car. Explosion was't satisyfing enough. We fried at a gas station. Still not enough. So we fired at an aircraft refuelling tank. We got a load of people turn up to the BBQ. Good job we packed food!

Also tested the sonic boom on the highway, we took out 1/4 mile of signage and confused a coach driver. Which...is easy done!

Harpoon locked onto a police officer using a radar gun. Manually cleared the target

Electronics:

Tested the target radar, it gave us speed, heading, vechicle type, and altitude. Also gave us IFF info. It always reports as hostile though.

Other electronics worked as planned. Slight glitch with the HUD, it soetes reports "DEMO MODE" and refuses to function. DK knows a way around it

Shielding worked perfectly, we borrowed a Canadian rocket launcher, shields stopped repeated attacks. However, we did notice it blanks out the stereo. Which sucks because I brought along my MC Hammer collection. Because...U Can't Touch This!

ECM pod blanked out everything in the area. No radio, no TV, no laptop to write this shakedown report on

Other notes:

Driver gloves and boots worked as intended, we decided to keep the pedals.

Gloves are too sensitive. DK fired off 800 rounds trying to scratch his nose earlier. In a crowded street. At the courthouse. We're due in tomorrow on terrorism charges. All we said in reply to that was 'eh?'

Togglable reticule/HUD works fine, scope works fine. DK used the zoom feature to read Autosport without buying it. Sneaky guy. I like his style.

Driver notes:

Complained about the cold and funny languages.

Also complained about the

Chief's Notes:

Looked up some other team's entrants. That Italian tractor looks...well....dangerous. I hope the cannon doesn't turn. And that bike, jeez...

Still, we're gonna WIN!

To Do List:

1. Get out of Canada before next week

2. Fix Harpoon
Here is my press release, for my Civic:

Location : Scrapyard

Time: 13:37

Engine Notes

Runs amazingly fast, and as it is powered by premium unleaded. But knowing it is a VTAK, it ain't breaking down anytime soon.

Tyres

Hmm, I'm gonna need alot of those. You see, my Civic is still FWD. a car with 1000bhp to the front wheels is gonna cook.

Chassis and Suspension

This part also has some tweaking left to do. Suspension fits in fine, but the widebodykit could give the car some body roll. and it's only a couple of inches from the ground. I may need some higher susps.

Handling

Mentioned the possible body roll in C&S. Hopefully, My custom springs should be in before the race starts. Along with Brembo brakes and Pirelli tyres.

Aerodynamics

A ha, now here is my strength. a full on bodykit with loads of swoopy lines should go throught the air like a dart.

Brakes

My Brembo brakes order is coming soon. Promises really good stopping power!

Weaponary

My sources of weapons are slightly different here. Hidden in the huge bodykits are missiles, 007 style, headlights that have machine guns hidden, and large rear exhaust that spill oil on the road.

Electrics

Screw electrical weapons, I was thinking outside of the box. 30 speakers around the car linked up to the Alpine stereo system, a screen to play DVD's and Blu-Ray discs, a plugged in PS3, and a gaming computer to even play LFS in the wacky race. Ya digg?

Driver notes

Uh, I'm just gonna be crusing through this. Oh, I also have a finger that can push the 'N20' button when the 5-0 is chasing me.

Other

Uh, I don't think it's that strong. Aftermarket parts fall off like lego.

Notes and To Do List

- Get road legal upgrades

- Get a co-driver

- figure out how to start it without a BANG sound at the beginning.

- Refill nitrous tanks

- Get as many bullets/oil as possible.
...I'm staying clear of THAT thing then
