Quote from teedot : but rather something that is causing the Master Server to hiccup for enough time to cause an issue...

You saying the master server is downloading Pron?

I just had this problem again, twice in 30 seconds. Everyone from my perspective is lagging, then I get disconnected... I tried again and by the time I left the pits everyone was lagging and I disconnected. This was on Race 3 at 8:10pm UK time. No porn or other big downloads going on, testing my connection to serveral internet services and all is working fine...

I see an update detailing my last race was today, but the license images haven't changed. I should be seeing Silver and National A but it shows images for Bronze and National B.

I'm glad I can filter out "cruise" servers from my lists so I don't have to worry about it. I can't imagine a worse use of LFS than a "cruise" server... I cringe everytime I think about it...

Oh and I wonder if it might be a good idea for the Facebook App to include the CTRA website address so people looking at my profile can be redirected there to understand what my stats are all about. Infact, you could link from Facebook to my CTRA public profile...

I just noticed that my CTRA stats are not updating on Facebook, any idea if this is something I need to trigger or is it broken?

Oooooh funtasticly awesome! (Sorry, been in California way too long)

All I need now is to find a way to get the time considering my partner has just, in the past 5 days given birth to my son Jack!

That is an excellent idea, I was also wondering how the future would handle an increase in users and more race time, everyone would end up with the same status.

Sam, what sort of network diags would be useful? Trace routes, pings times? Is there anything in LFS that allows for the production of a verbose trace which might contain details of network issues?

Yep, i've been getting this a lot recently as well... a few days ago an entire server bar one person was disconnected. Plus I often see others now timing out infront and disappearing when for the rest of the race their latency was fine.

Quote from blackbird04217 :Not at all true and thats quite a stereotype you have against a lot of people.

Umm it's my opinion. I race mainly in CTRA, when I race on other servers I find the quality of driving lowers dramatically. It might not be true or well researched, but it's why I posted this thread in the CTRA section, is that such a problem?

Quote from anttt69 :why post in here? do only CTRA racers use track ir?

Because I think a poll of just the CTRA scene reflects, in my opinion, the best racers in LFS... So I was curious what their preference was to this.

I've not used the free alternatives, but Track IR is VERY fast. Its instant, I move my head, the view moves, no lag, nothing. It also has a very nice dead zone which allows for small movements around the center view to stop it wandering.

In traffic I find it very useful. Many times I can go wheel in wheel with SS cars and be safe and being able to glance to an apex whilst 2 or 3 abreast in a corner is also very useful for staying on the track.

The only downside I find is if I am drinking whilst playing, I lift my head to drink and i'm looking at the sky in LFS

How many people use Track IR? I find it's invaluable in making it through turn one

If it reflects any of the amazing work the UKCT team have already done, then it's going to be awesome. I have little time to actually commit to a full on league and therefore can't wait to race in a pickup and go daily/weekly/monthly league system run by Sam and co!

Bring it on!

Quote from Sig_ZA :My point here is that Race1 server is the bottom entry point (I can't start any lower). How am I ever going to get points at this rate? I also think that the fast paced guys should realise that there are lots of slower people on the server and give them a break, especially those guys who can race on higher servers.

I find that SS1, which you can also join has a much better level of driving. That might be a place to get some relief and pickup more skills whilst you wait for your tin top points to grow.

Quote from SamH :That's actually not so easy to do. I'll have a think about reliable ways to do it.

Store the data in an array before writing back to the page? Feel free to PM me the code if you want some ideas, i'm a developer...
Quote from SamH :You can narrow a search by giving the date, year and hour. For example "3 apr 2008 15" gives all races that finished in the hour from 3pm to 4pm on the given date.

That text would be really useful next to the filter button Sorry, i've spent a lot of time designing interfaces.

Quote from SamH :The timestamp is the end of the race/beginning of the following race. It's taken at the time the replay is saved, which is as a new race is beginning

And the time in LFS World is the start time for the race? I'm a bit confused... The following are the replays on AS Club available from the search tool you gave.

1.Single2_AS2_07_Apr_2008_2151.mpr 07/04/08 09:51 PM

Yet the listings in LFS world for my races that day on AS Club are;
11:56:00 AM
12:08:00 PM
12:21:00 PM
12:33:00 PM
12:46:00 PM

Any idea what the different time zones are? Also a key to identify what each code for the tracks is would be, i'm crap at remembering what the names are for AS2 and FE3R .

Oh and umm can you put the moon on a stick?

And any chance you can sort the two columns so that the run down onside and then the other? Instead of alternating? Makes hunting down the replay a little easier.

Thanks mucho!

And is the time of the replay the end or start? Looking at LFS world i'm not sure if the the time there is start or end time either so I can try and match up races.

Oh my gosh, like, I totally didn't know that page existed.

Did it? Or did you just knock that up?

And what on earth are you doing awake at this time of night? It's 10pm PST!

Sam and CTRA admin type people... I had some excellent races today and want to review some of the replays. But I don't have auto replay save on in LFS and had to leave pronto for the RSA conference in San Francisco The only way I can get access to the replays would be to raise a report, submit it and then download the replay and drop the report...

Any chance we can have an interface to the replays we can browse?
