Could it be caused by the DNS?

Try using the ones from Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) to see if that solves he issue.

Is it just me, or your LFS generates huge body deformation?

I've never seen a car so smashed with such "tiny" impact
Whiskey

It is like that. Either you are entering a wrong password or it's wrong/empty on the cfg (check that the line begins with only 1 slash)

That data is not simulated yet, so LFS itself don't know those values neither.

I'm waiting for the day that those things and brake temps are introduced.

Arg, close enough?

I fixed my post, thanks.

Write this on the chat:
/select no

I doubt everybody has admin status, but check the cfg file and set an admin password if it's empty.

Quote from Degats :The temp dial in game is static and never changes.

Actually on LFS it shows FPS count, while on OutGauge it will be always zero.

I know, we had problems for 2 days on B9, then updated to B10 and the problem persisted. As many mates complained the problem is either at our hosting or in LFS itself, either way I hope to find the cause & solution.

I'll do some tests with network debug enabled to be able to tell you the exact ping figures.

Quote from Scawen :So what is the surprise? Nothing, you are just describing the symptoms of a high ping, typically seen when someone connects to a server that is too far away.

Sorry, but that's not the case.

0.6B, 4 servers, 40 players (every one of them in Spain), no issues.
0.6B9 & 10, 4 servers, 40 players, good ping reported by LFS (less than 0.1 all the time for everyone), stuttering everywhere.

I can send you replays of our race yesterday so you can see the problem.

Quote from Krammeh :Unsure if it is just me that has noticed this, but contact with a high latency user is a lot more dangerous now than it used to be.

My latency was 0.06-0.07 and his was close to 0.5.

He now jutters around the track a lot more than he used to, and contact with him now is just awful! Even the slightest of brushes sends me flying (quite literally)

True, we suffered this on a league race yesterday. A brush and suddelnly 3 people are flying.

During the whole week we've been seeing how the cars don't have a fluid movement, they are constantly jumping and sometimes cars appears to go on the gravel/walls and then recover they real position.

Plus some bugs I'll report later.

You have to use the clutch to change gear (works pretty much as a button) and to start moving. If you are careful enough you can start on 7th gear, but if you use any reasonable low gear it is no difficult to start moving releasing the clutch with not much care.

It'd be funnier to make it harder, though I don't know how a real truck works. Afterall they have a huge amount of par at very low revs...

A suggestion I would really like to see is a combination with LFS itself.

First of all:

- LFS must be able to export telemetry for own car during online gaming (and store it afterwards, not in the mpr file, but one that is linked, so nobody can stole your date if you share that replay).

Then:

- We could have a web-app in stats.lfs.net (and external user-made apps) where we can see all the information available. You know, cool charts in SVG format and such things

Sadly LFSStats has always been a bit buggy, so having it redone won't be so worthles effort as you may think.

Plus it would be the ideal ocasion to add some features, like allow re-conection for time-outs (like endurance insims do), be able to edit the penalties/results...

Quote from dawesdust_12 :A better system than passing details every time is to have an "app" (league, native app) that can request a token for a user. They then use this token instead of a password to authorize. Benefit is the user can revoke access and the other site never gets their password (because they login to the LFS site).

Basically like oauth.

Of course, I already said that it shouldn't be the LFS password. It would be cool if people could revoke acced (like you do in Twitter, Facebook...) to any league they granted acces in the past.

Probably the skins should have a flag of who uploaded it, so if a league uploads a new version (with diferent name) could delete the old one without user interaction (although this could cause some mess).
Skins upload
Whiskey

Quote from Whiskey :It would be really cool if we can upload a zip file (or at least multiple files at a time), containing several skins.

This would be useful for leagues members or skin makers.
For league members: each driver would download the zip (from his league website) containing the skins of his team with his own number, and then upload it in 1 click to LFSW, instead of uploading 20 different files.

Quote from Whiskey :Hijacking my own thread

Another request for Victor:

.../uploadskin.php?user=S2_license&password=your_pass&path=file_path

- password may not be LFSWorld pass for security reasons I guess. I'm thinking about IDK or maybe a specific password for this use.

- path will allow jpg and zip files, to be loaded from another website

This way we could make a 100% automated system to upload a skin pack at 1024 pixels, while the player could choose another resolution, so when he use that skin it is already at LFSW.

If there is an specific password, we could store our users PW and upload his skins to his own LFSW skins slots, instead of the league ones

As Victor already posted on that thread back when I posted it I hope it won't be hard to get this aproved

My view of how to organize the downloads page, that also includes the user-made content.

I'd like to see several news streams/feeds. That would be displayed just about the news block in horizontal tabs.

Currently we have no news for several months, and the ones we get are mainly about official releases, so the main page lokks a bit dead.

So I'm thinking of splitting it in several sections (tags, channels, whatever it should be called):

- Releases and news related to that. This includes maitenance notices, forum changes, etc.
- Development informations: all the test patches releases, important discussions about them (like InSim changes), new posts on new physics... (just a few words and a link to Scawen's tread is enough)
- News from the more important leagues (as we'd have the new leagues site this don't need a lot of news to be posted really)
- Featured user made content: Lynce releases a texture pack, Airio gets a new version, Clavico is created as a new layout editor, etc.

Then, people should be able to choose what of these feeds they suscribe to on they email notifications.

This is my suggetion of a common header and my vision on how the download page should be.

I did not edit the side menu, though I would like to rearrange some of its items. I also go for a simplistic header (a bit Metroish).
The "HOME" tab is the actual lfs.net site, not sure what is the best name to call it yet.
The "USER" tab content should be similar to the one we already have on lfs.net, not plain text as on my image, but as I don't have a final idea on that I left it like that.

PS: I attach the psd file so you can see it on detail, plus I don't have any problem in people using it for their own mockups

Yikes, I helped someone

Quote from luchian :I would also like to know, if possible. Thank you and sorry for the offtopic. Trees are incredibily good looking.

It's done with LFS Record, it connects to the game via InSim, and alows you to setup the camera at exactly the position/angle you want. This way you can either make the same shot on several replay or using 2 LFS to compare textures.

It's intended to do precisecamera animations, but that's not the part of the program that Lynce needed for now hehe

I think it would be a good idea yo create a topic called "Sugestions for the new LFS World", where everybody could post. Then select a few trustworthy people that can edit the first post, they would pick the useful/interesting ideas.

After that, developers (Victor and everyone he accepts in the 'crew') would have their own tread "Accepted sugestions", where they would post their selection, with more detailed information, so people/programmers can tell their vision on those things that pretty much sure will be done.

Quote from edge3147 :Don't hibernate if you want your host to run while you are away.

Hibernate power's off your computer and saves your windows session.

It's true that the server wont work, but that does not justify the flood the dedi produces. It should have a way to either just add 1 line with that error (o at leaste wait 1 minute) or just stop the server showing you the problem, so you have to reinit/restart it.

Nice. I really hope the other fictional brands feel a bit of shame and take the same route, afterall this is free publicity for their brand...

Does anyone know where can I get a mod that increase interior sound volume? I know there are a few on the web, but can't find one that works (or I'm not able to 'install' it).
