Good deal & good luck. I may eventually spring for a used sat/nav headunit anyways, as I'm not a fan of doodads on the dash & with as bad as I am @ navigating cities, (but love exploring new places), it sure would be nice!

Ditto, and considering some tard dropped about $360 on them originally, for more than, "a tenner". (regardless of the roadrash)

Be sure to post pics of the 10th scale vent mod, that could look awesome. Though I've been heavily into hobby-class RC since '93, I've never thought of such!

About the sat/nav unit, are you not afraid of it being stolen? So far in my Miata'ing years, I've lost one headunit & it was a fairly old/cheap one. I also live in a pretty safe neighborhood for that kind of nonsense. But yeah, I've been tempted install similar, but given how easy it is to get into a convertible..

Hopefully I'll be installing my '01+ door panels around the end of the month.

I know somebody who tracks his RX-7 regularly and yes, it has a rather large, functional wing. He removes it for use on the street, as yes.... it looks retarded on the street & has no practical use under like 100mph. (when you posted that pic, it was in response to somebody who seems to be building a mostly street car as well) As far as getting mad, the "" denotes my post being done so in a jokingly manner. The only mad person seems to be you. (well, and maybe the guy questioning the use of seatbelts, lol)

Wow, really? You're the one posting monster wings, (saying they "look neat"), & then camo'd Astra's sitting on the ground, and you expect serious responses?

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Airbags need to be replaced every 10 years to guarantee they'll go off when you need them. Unless you're sat in the correct position they have a tendency to do a lot of damage too. If you're short, disable the airbag. If you're fat, disable the airbag. You have to be the average build for one to deploy safely..

I'm not the average build but was also referring to their design. (as well as more oriented towards very small cars) I've seen rather new ones from the same era cause more harm than good in your average fenderbender/all but the most extreme circumstances & thus have never trusted earlier ones. (I definitely always wear a seatbelt though!)

Quote from nikopdr :..It looks neat on a MK1 MX-5, but it might not be the same in the newer model.

And yes, that car is driven daily with the same look, with the exception of stickers removed.

At first I was like , then saw your next post. (and remembered some which have come to pass, lol) In your case I'd go with the camo AND the 2nd Miata's wing. I think the combo would suit you well. Hey, trade the white for black & you could be Klutch's bro too, lurking in the night from 5-0!

Quote from CheerioDM :Not smart to go without an airbag if you are not racing.

Old tech airbags & new ones aren't exactly the same cup of tea. Personally I don't feel that safe around such dated ones & would rather they be removed anyways, especially when they're literally right in your face. I've disconnected my driver's side bag and fooled the light with some resistors.

It's a good color.

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :..which had rusted so badly the suspension was not attached to the vehicle. MB said it was unfixable. It was only 6 years old..

Wow, that's pathetic.

Quote from Derv94 :i would like to respray it but i'm unsure seeing as the car has done 130k i feel as it's a waste if the mechanicals aren't up to scratch

Respray as in a different color, or the same? 130k's nothin for a Miata & there's not all that much real estate to paint. If same color, I wouldn't hesitate in the slightest. (100k on mine, planning a fresh coat & supercharger before summer ) Miata's are known to be tanks. Sold my '91 to dude with 200k on it & his intention was an engine swap. 2y/40k later & he still can't kill the lil B-series & I beat the piss outta it for the previous 100k!

Kinda like an aftermarket take on the factory hollow spoked 1st gens, but sportier. Just an opinion, but it could use a factory front lip as well, (to tie in with the lower rocker line). Once she's settled, the nose line being a bit higher, (by design), won't be as apparent though. I should be ordering some MkII door panels/getting ready to do that swap soon. Hopefully later this year I'll get around to swapping dash's as well. Gotta get the BJ done & sorted first though!

Good to hear those wheels went. So are you selling the garage, cause I'm pretty sure I've got a car that'd fit & I'd love one!

I don't think Lotus is still the same company as they were/making the same mistakes as in the 80's/90's..

Apparently you've missed a few messages.. as well as the awesome sticker action out back.

Quote from Ian.H :Indeed! RWD would have been both much more fun, and much easier to put the power down..

I think AWD would be a better match.

Quote from JJ72 :I own it now! Don't think i can hit that bar when there' s headrest though? ..

Congrats! As for the rollbar, you won't during normal circumstances but during an accident is when unpadded ones that close become dangerous.. and yes, even with the stock seats it's not uncommon for contact to result in a cracked skull. Many won't believe it, but a little padding goes a long ways on safety in this case.

Quote from Dennis93 :I only said it wasn't NEW, didn't say it was broken or anything..

No, but you insinuated that a BMW's engine should last longer and/or cost less to maintain, which I disagree with. Also, he said should be like new and was correct. (everybody knows any engine with 80k isn't actually new) I wouldn't consider a BMW with the same logged distance to be any better a candidate for achieving the million mile mark than a Honda, nor cost any less to maintain on average. One having not been 100% serviced by a dealer definitely wouldn't push me away either. The only thing that's usually good for are warranties & a false peace of mind. (as typically speaking, dealer mechanics are no better than the average shop) For a high spirited engine like an S2000's, I wouldn't necessarily consider a 20yo to be a bad thing either. (so long as basic maintenance was kept up) Some engines need to be revved regularly to stay in better shape, with the end result being a more healthy example. (Miata engines fit in this category, I figure S2000's would as well)

Quote from Dennis93 :Since your specialty is apparently BMW's I don't blame you for not knowing that a japanese car is no longer 'new' if it's done over 100k KM.
BMW's go on forever and need a belt change now and then..

You obviously know little of Honda's. (or many other jap engines) 100km's is what, 62k miles? That's nothing. Of the listed reservations the GoPro part might be worrysome.. but that's about it. (unless the miles per year were high/it's only a couple years old etc)

JJ72, I understand completely! (tell whoever owns it to get some padding for that roll bar though. on average, it's safer not to have one when that near your head, than be without)

Oh right, you were the one that got banned.. probably a good plan in that case. Any other & I'd say find a way to keep it if it meant anything to you. The original 2.5L I dropped into the MX-3 was trash & threw a rod almost right off the bat. Thanks to the now-ex, I couldn't afford to replace it for about 4 years. (much less do anything else fun, automotive or PC related) I think I'm better off now.
