Quote from Smax :There's already a version of the Renown RX7 for the XRG. It was painted by Mikebyzdine and you can get it here.

Oh, thanks. I think I like what I've got better, but that gives me some template stuff to work with if I want to mess with it. I'm still really interested in the personal skin though, especially after seeing the possible layouts/real car's you gave for suggested ideas Vain.

Mazda, NGK, Toyo, Kenwood, Tokico, Eibach, Mazdaspeed, Corksport (www.corksport.com), Sony, Tamiya, and Traxxas, would all be great if on there, but the main theme would be Mazda. I could come up with more if you'd like a bigger range of what to use. I know some just won't work out visually/you can't find logos quality enough etc. (Tamiya and Traxxas are both RC Model "car" companies)

Any additional sponsor wishes? Color? A specific number? A specific detail like especially colored mirrors?

Vain

Sweet, that'd be great. Blue would be my color I suppose. I like the color of that blue Porsche in your #2 pic. Number plate would be 03. I would need some more time to tell you more sponsors, and understand if you'd like to wait till I've listed them before you do too much work on the skin..

Quote from Vain :I can show you some more "realistic" paintjobs...
One, two, three and four. Just so we get a similar understanding of the term "realistic".
Mine looks like those, you seem to be looking into something else, so I'm not of much help there.

Vain

No, actually you're spot on. I really like those and that's right along the lines of what I'm after. Again, I didn't post the Renown skin because I wanted somthing that complicated, it was just what got me started skinning the XRG..

I guess if anybody wanted to make it look simliar to a 1st. generation Mazda RX-7, that'd be great too, but I'm more into just getting a clean, realistic looking skin with a few main sponsors on it, over changing it to look like a specific make and model etc.

I like that! I was just commenting that I really liked the Renown skin, not necessarily that I wanted somthing as complicated.

Here's how far I got with my XRG rendition. I guess since I snapped the picture's with print-screen, (into Paint), you can't see the quality loss too good, but oh well.. (and I obviously didn't complete it, cause like I said, I realized I'd wasted a bunch of time)

The link said I had to be signed in to access it. I'm not soo much looking for art work I don't guess, just solid clean logo's plopped in appropriate places on the skin I suppose. Probably along the lines of what you'd see on a real, non-riced up car, at an autocross meet or something. Do you have another link to your skin? What got me started on the XRG, other than I like driving it, is Zed's XRR Renown skin, posted below.. It doesn't necessarily have to be that in-depth though.
XRG, realistic, simple, custom..

I hate to request a skin, that's not my style, but I just don't seem to have the time/patience to make one these days.. I want a simple, non-ricey XRG skin, specifically with Mazda, NGK, Toyo, and Kenwood as sponsors, and maybe a few more if anybody actually cares enough to make one for me, lol. I won't list them all unless I get a serious hit though. I was modifying Zed's orange/green Renown skin he made, (with his approval), for the XRR, but unfortunately after ALOT of time and work, realized the program I was using was dumping quality pretty bad, so I gave up. Anyways, if anybody is interested in making a skin somthing along the lines of what I mentioned, post up, and thanks in advance!

I picked up a TrackIR 3Pro for free recently and after a little getting used to, absolutely love it in IL2FB. I can't seem to get it to work with LFS though.. I know what the problem is, I've got somthing in the game setup from before I had any type of tracking device, so it's automatically desabling the TrackIR - I just don't know what settings to change to get it to work? I tried searching but didn't ever find what I was looking for. Would anybody care to help? I'm itching for somthing new to play with, and since I've already got TIR, it's "new" and free, lol. Thanks for any help.. (I've tried disabling the obvious stuff related to looking in-game, but have obviously missed at least one option)

Quote from sil3ntwar :Why not drive with auto clutch? Hell even if i had a clutch pedal i probably wouldnt use it

Short and sweet, it feels more like GT4. Yesterday I was looking at a certain, real, car to buy, and decided to see if it was in any of the Gran Turismo games, so I could go drive it around. (I know, not completely realistic, but still fun, and I do own all of the GT's) I checked GT3 first and remembered how cool it was that they'd flubbed up and had that little glitch with using the Reverse button as an upshift/downshift control. (which allowed for variable shift times) But yeah, just banging up and down through the gears with Auto clutch feels less realistic and more like all the other games out there. Like I said before, it used to simulate the most realism possible for the driveability my input device allows.

I'm seeing a trend.. this is obviously a pointless discussion as everybody just says: why not just use auto clutch. I however am not looking solely for the fastest way around the track, I'm looking for the most realism I can get while driving the fastest I can, with a joystick - but also keeping it driveable while doing so. Yes GTS, I know, as I can manually lift off as I press the clutch on upshift, but to me, that really gets to the point of having too much input on a single control which alters so many direct aspects of driving the car. Driving with a joystick is already a handful, (and I've got the other stuff setup correctly to help with it), and being able to choose "Throttle cut on upshift" just made the game alot more fun and driveable, while holding onto as much realism as possible, with my available hardware. I'm alot less likely to play now though, till I can get my hands on a wheel.

PS-Primoz, go turn Auto clutch off and the option of Throttle cut on upshift should dissapear - unless you haven't updated to the U patch.

I've already said why it's a problem.. When driving with a joystick you're doing throttle, brake, and steering - all with the stick. Now, yes, it is very possible to blip on downshifts and lift on upshifts, but that really throws alot of added movement at the stick which makes it real easy to send your car swerving all over the road as you're trying to control the throttle. I guess when you posted you meant what you said differently than I took it. Not really sure why what I'm saying is so hard for people to understand though - short of the lazy ones that say just use auto clutch. I guess I'm just trying to get the most realism as I can, while still making it driveable with a Joystick. They had things set in that department before, not anymore though, heh.

Just one of those things that makes the game so neat - actually having the option of a clutch. I know it's not realistic since I'm driving with a joystick, (as well as an in/out, button assigned clutch), but I suppose I just feel it's a little more realistic actually having a little clutch control. I wish I had whatever version of the game I had before, though I don't see it available in the archive files section and I guess everybody runs the latest anyways. I had no shifting issues till I updated.
I need Throttle cut on upshift back!!!

I have a thread pertaining to this in the technical assistance section, but wanted to put somthing over here as well. I know there's a ton of improvements and suggestions, but not having throttle cut on upshift available, while NOT using auto clutching, really detracts from the gameplay for me. I'm stuck driving with a joystick for awhile yet and by enabling throttle cut on upshift, and throttle blip on downshift, I was able to assign the clutch to a button and manually shift up and down without problem. Now though, (I just came back to the game after having not played for months, and updated to the newest patch), I can enable throttle blip on downshift but no cut on upshift. What this does for us joystick drivers is add more movements to the stick in order to control shifting, which puts me all over the road as I lift off the throttle. If possible, please make throttle cut on uphshift available with auto clutching turned off.

Thanks,

Well that blows. I could drive a sequential "manual" with a joystick before and handle the shifting - now it's either auto clutching or I'm all over the road as I throw more movements at the stick. I know, the game's not designed to be driven with a stick but for awhile it's my only option. Going to go make a simliar post in the Improvements and Suggestions area. Thanks for digging that up war.

Quote from XCNuse :..uh.. i see both right there in player under shift type

You also see "Auto Clutch". Turn that off and "Throttle Cut On Upshift" dissapears, or at least does in my .5u version of the game.. Wish I had the other version I had archived somewhere so I could install it and check things out.

Hmm, seems it's only available when auto clutching is on, but I'm almost positive I did NOT have auto clutching on before and had the option. Turning auto clutching on sort of defeats the purpose.. I'm trying to drive a sequintial with a button actioned clutch and no automatic crap.

I've got "Throttle Blip on Downshift" but nothing below that. I'm certain there used to be a throttle cut on upshift option as well? Manual throttle cutting with a joystick sends me all over the road as there's too many things going as far as stick movement and whatnot. It was cutting on upshift before the patch, now it's not and I can't find the option..?
where'd throttle cut on upshift go???
Tinytacohead

Patched from Q to U a few minutes ago and can't seem to find the option for "throttle cut on upshift". That's one of the things that's made driving with a joystick doable - has it been removed or am I just not seeing it in one of the screens?

EDIT-the original title of this thread went with a different message, but I figured that one out, lol..
