Quote from Töki (HUN) :..but why do US bumpers have to be so ugly on old cars?

I agree about many of them being ugly, but what did the same year EU example look like? (I dunno my years on rabbits or I'd look it up)

On a different note, since I'm getting ready to stuff a blower under the hood, (planned for next month), of course I seem to be having transmission problems all of a sudden, heh.

Rims are neat, not a fan of the height or gay sidewall stretch on the pictured car though. (seen the front-angle shot of it)

That's what I was afraid of.. you ghino'd it, height wise. Maybe it won't look so slammed with different rims/lower profile rubber tho..

Quote from Töki (HUN) :..look where it is here..

I'm not pretending any one of those is better than the other, (personally I'd take the Porsche/BMW be last on my list), but that vid looks pretty set up if you ask me.. for various reasons, regarding various cars. At least it's not in 240p I guess?

I thought he was trying to make a case for AWD, considering that was about the only semi-relevant aspect of his vid, as a reply, lol. (since the main topic was drivetrain layout) Ahh well, neither one of you did very well choosing vids, lol.

Quote from sinbad :..I don't know what you are but you basically aren't a driver

If I'm remembering the right tard, one of the first times I recall his piping up about how lame FWD was, (in this thread), was when the topic of sliding around on slick roads came up.. so yea. If I'm singling out the wrong tard, it doesn't really make a difference. What sinbad said is spot on. Also, FWD has proven it can be plenty competitive on-track. (no matter whether you think it's cool or not)

And Toki, if I had a long race, I'd probably welcome whichever car was better composed on-track. Sure it's fun to drive, (and watch), something that goes sideways, but that old Porsche was obviously a handful, which is gonna wear you out a hell of alot faster too, showing up in your lap times, tire wear, fuel consumption etc.

Quote from Scrabby :..US M3's don't have ITB's like the Euro's..

ITB's sound soo sexy, on just about anything. I seriously considered them + some cams & ECU over the planned MP62 next month, (and if I were loaded, do both), but opted for FI/the easier route to hp instead.

Unless things have changed, the headlights are still a DDS file.. or in other words, not part of the skin at all. In which case, they will see every car with the same type headlights as they have. It's too bad such is the case!

P5YcHoM4N, (much like BlueFlame), you should learn to quit while you're ahead. ..and on that note, I'm done with the topic.

Sounds great doyal. (Jakg, diesels make all kinds of noises, they're just not favorable ones )

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :Although I've never crashed a car because I tried to avoid hitting a rabbit. In fact, I've never had a crash..

That doesn't excuse driving around like an idiot, (especially in a self professed "slow tank"), or mean you're anybody to judge who should & shouldn't be driving. There're plenty of people out there who've never been in an accident, yet for various reasons have no business on the road.. road rage being a big one.

That's sad, lol. (US BRZ's are LSD equipped though)

Quote from P5YcHoM4N :It isn't the stopping, it is how much I get enraged by it. My tank takes about a year to get moving again and having to slam on I get stupidly close to their rear bumper. I live in a tourist area so..

Honestly dude, it doesn't sound like you're anybody to be saying who should & shouldn't be on the road..

Quote from Scrabby :Allot of sport cars don't come with an LSD or any other type of locking differential.
For Example: An older model Z4 3.0i, pretty fast sports car. No LSD, shame because one would make it much better.

One of the few lighter/slower sports cars I know to have one right now is the Toyota GT86, in contrary to the BRZ who doesn't have one...

It was way more common in the past to have an LSD as an option orso when you bought a new car (RWD that is). Older BMW's, Toyota's etc..

Well yeah, but Lotus/Opel, you just expect it for obvious reasons. They were designed with track toy in mind, whereas the average BMW, Audi etc - well I won't go there.

As for the BRZ, while we don't get'm with a Toyota badge, dang.. pretty sure ours are all Torsen equipped. (even the automatic with it's taller ratio's) While I'm not a big fan, 3rd gen Miata's, (with factory Bilsteins), all come with an LSD as well.

Good deal! (I was reallly wanting to keep my old Miata as a track toy, but alas, it's too long a hike to anywhere to run. even for autoX, heh)

Kinda surprised they don't all come with one for some reason.

Oh right, I forgot which car was yours.. well in that case, (I could be wrong as I've not driven one), but you've probably not felt how insanely awesome brakes can perform. I thought I had, until the RX, due to having always upgraded to quality rotors, pads, steel braided lines etc on my other cars. The 7 spoiled me though/leaves me longing for more!

As for ABS, I despise most older systems/CAN usually out perform them manually. (especially in adverse weather/road conditions) ABS seems to have come quite a ways over the years though, most of the time anywho.

Quote from Jakg :..Luckily my car does stop like it's hit a brick wall so it's not a situation I have to worry about much.

My RX-7 did as well, thanks to its factory 4 piston calipers all around.. which means sometimes ya have to pay extra attention that you're not out braking the annoying, tailgating a-hole's. After the supercharger I plan on a full Wilwood kit for the Miata/to recreate the same!

Quote from sinbad :..It's not like the car in front hits a wall and stops dead, it's using its brakes to slow down, and you're saying that you have to go around them to avoid a collision? That's messed up when you think about it..

Kinda half to agree.. I'm usually scanning as far ahead as possible to see what could be getting ready to happen & where my escape route might be etc, but can't think of a time I've ever started an overtake when something looked amiss. (or thought it might be a worthy plan) That's just asking to compound a bad situation most times. The average car and/or driver's usually subpar enough that they don't use their vehicle's full braking potential anyways, for one reason or another.

Hate to be a downer, but liked the 206 better myself. (even if it was a tad low)

Quote from Migz :..i guess thats the bonus of getting the same car, you can always use parts on the new one

Yeah, that was while I was in college.. was PISSED when I came home one day for some parts & my Mom had had it hauled off, unbeknownst to me!!

Quote from Scrabby :Then humans hunt bunny and eat it. Hmmmm bunny

Bunny taste better than chicken.. mmm, BBQ bunny!

In all seriousness, glad you're Ok Migz. My 2nd MX-3/car, suffered a similar fate.. though due to gravel and an oddly random slide while moving straight @ 30mph. (still not sure what happened) Kicked the windshield out, had some friends help roll it back over, and drove it home though! Made for a great parts donor for my 3rd/current MX-3, haha.
