So I guess the preposterous ****ed-up 2nd amendment argument goes that you're OK with firearms so long as you're not exposed to any media that might give you the idea of firing them at people.
Mostly Ocean and Monmouth counties. My girlfriend who grew up in Brick told me there was no 911 service there.
I suppose in lieu of any evidence you could just look at violent crime numbers and see if there's a significant fall in states where concealed carry permits were introduced. If there isn't then those nice wild west people probably aren't helping, they're just getting their guns stolen and used to commit crimes (something the statistics do show).
I suppose there are a lot of factors but it's difficult to blame violent computer games when the rest of the world is playing the same ones.
I think the argument that the USA has a culture of killing is a pretty good one. It's still a very young country, it's not so long since you were out killing the natives and then protecting your own property due to the lack of law and order. I remember living in a fairly densely-populated area (certainly not a rural area) in New Jersey in the '90s that had no 911 service. Maybe it still doesn't I don't know.
So I can sort-of understand the paranoid middle classes wanting their guns and being over-keen to use them against their neighbours. The people I can't understand are the people who want to keep that situation as it is.
From the reports nobody is saying that anybody got punched.
I hope if City decide to sell him he stays in the premier league, I would miss him if he went away. Liverpool could do with a Balotelli so he could take some of Suarez's yellow cards for him.
I agree with this because I agree with everything th84 ever says, because it avoids me having to think about anything and I'm usually intoxicated enough that I don't care how retarded he is.
AtomAnt I think it's fair to say your posts were getting increasingly incoherent when I last saw you. I don't really mind about that - so long as you're not being offensive then you are welcome to ride a crispy bike all over any forum that I read. I don't know if you posted something offensive but I doubt it - you mostly just post nonsensical garbage and I support your entitlement to do that.
Hang on though. Wasn't Lerts banned in the end? Maybe riding crispy bikes is explicitly against the rules?
I used to have a 1962 122S (the station wagon), pretty much the same car. It used to get some funny looks with my pet pig's snout sticking out of the passenger window.
Look up his record when he worked in Fleet Street. I disagree that his TV stuff is worthy, and all I've seen from his Twitter activity is lots of people asking him to be banned from supporting Arsenal.
Having seen the story about 30,000 Americans signing a petition to deport Piers Morgan, I am desperately trying to raise enough signatures to get his British citizenship revoked - we really don't want that **** back, you can keep him.
Fortunately an 'ally' is someone who's on your side, so it would be two against one.
My point - apparently valid - is that if your argument is that automatic weapons are needed to give you power over your own government, they don't give you anywhere near enough power and you might as well not have them at all. Look how well the Taliban have been doing against the US military - you would have considerably less success because you don't have RPGs.
And the government let you have those so you can be an effective militia and overthrow tyrannical rulers.
So I guess you're allowed to have jet fighters and tanks and stuff too? Or can they be defeated somehow by a bunch of fat dudes with goatees and assault rifles?
Actually the story that has been mooted for comparison in the UK press is the policy of drone strikes against civilians in Pakistan. Apparently 168 children dead so far. People who arrive at the scene of a drone strike to provide emergency assistance are also targeted. Funerals for the victims of drone strikes are also targeted.
There's not so much coverage of that in the western media. That's a lot more dead children, murdered by the US government.
That does look interesting. I'm using TextMangler on Mac at the moment and TextPad on Windows, I really love TextMangler and TextPad is pretty similar but it would be nice to have the same editor on both platforms, plus I'm seriously considering moving to Linux for work next year rather than buying another Mac.
Yeah I remember Dragon's Lair, it was the biggest rip-off in arcade history, and looked so pretty that everybody still pumped money into it, hoping that it would somehow become a game if they stood in front of it for long enough. But it never did.
I think everybody who played Far Cry was confused about why they ruined it half-way through. I think they ran out of money so they let the work experience kids design the rest of the game.
