Quote from Daffyflyer :Didn't get much recorded yet, still experimenting with our sound guy as to the best way to record things.

Its going to cost around/under $20AUD/12GBP/14EURO

That is a very Ok price for a game that I feel would be really fun to play. I love these sorts of games that you build up a company from nothing and damn this game just tops it off with the thing I love CARS !!!

128 or less
256
512
1024
2048 or more

Sorry but 64 or less would be better. Until weeks ago my graphics card had an amazing 32 mb of VRAM but I upgraded it to the higest too a huge 128 mv of VRAM wow

Quote from 91mason91 :Why does the link in your sig, on your forums, contain a link to your forums?

It is because I just transported them forum files from a old forum and never bothered changing my sig. Now you told me I will change it

Quote from Drift[EST] :So it bursted in to my mind, why not to improve the driving school a little in LFS. It would be fun if LFS had a track where you could practice parking, test the car in different road conditions etc... All the basic things you should know before driving. We already have driving school in LFS but it mostly is for testing the car in racing conditions. I'm not saying I know how much work it will take, because i don't. Just thinking it would be a great feature for LFS and also a good topic to discuss the down-sides and the good-sides of it.
Give a heads up what you guys think about it.

Please, no need to start flaming on me for bringing the topic up because im a demo racer.

good idea but i am sure this would never go through on lfs. when i first tried Cruise server i made my self a lan host on car park track and opened lfs 3 times and put a car in two spaces with one space free in the middle. this meant i could try out clutch on g25 and steering and such. you also get some practise for real life cases but i am not saying use lfs for real life driving because there is no way lfs is close to real life any time near

P.S lol when has any S2 driver ever made fun of a demo driver on this forum ???

Quote from Daffyflyer :Im making this! (and somehow have a forum account from 2004 that I never used... must have been from my LFS playing days)

Anyway, this is what it looks like at the moment - getting close to a demo release.

Also, no you can't drive any cars, we don't have enough manpower to write a full blown car sim!

Also we won't drift off into the land of vapourware, we've invested too much time already, and whilst it might take a while before we are done, rest assured we will eventually be done!

cant wait for it to be ready. oh and is there any ideas on how much it will cost ?

Quote from sempre_r10 :Well the good news is that I decided I'm gonna make this little project of mine my subject for my high-school graduation certificate exam. My specialty/profile is electrical appliances and other such devices so I might as well do a project that I really want to do and that is practical.
So anyway what i'm saying is that I will have to write a paper about it anyway complete with pictures and diagrams and such so I could definitely post it here when i'm done. Only problem is i'll have to translate it in english but as it will have about 8-10 A4 pages i'm afraid i'll have to do a nutshell translation, that should be enough and also i intend to upload a clip on youtube with the finished product in action.
Right now I'm studying hard for the SAT's (at least I think that's the equivalent of the exam US residents take) so I'm really not working on it in terms of building. Right now I'm just gathering stuff that I have on a list as I go along each day so I can have everything I need when the building day comes. Things like flexible metal laminae/strips, real car pedals, broken/unused mouses (they have micro switches inside), thrown away furniture .. basically stalling production so I can minimize the costs of the elements i need to fit in the 100$ budget proposed.

thanks for the reply. i look forward to watching the project develop and i will continue to watch this thread(or the thrad you use for the dev side of it)

Quote from E.Reiljans :I doubt they have dedicated lines. Looks more like something shared to me.

They are shared buteach physical server gets 100 mb/s u/d but as most of you will know they have virtual computers in them all clustered together. So in a way it is shared but still quite fast

Quote from E.Reiljans :I barely get 2 MB/s from your shitty server :|

Mybee the server was busy as I think that server has jamwaffles.co.uk ( which gets alot of hits) sorry but I must say it is in no mean a shitty server. It has a good connection. Each server has 100 mb/s u/d

Quote from sinanju :It does work, but this is just the standard release version 6.011 of LFSLapper with my included driftmeter add-on enabled, and the server name added to the standard config files.

You will get a scoreboard, and (if you configure it right), you can get a list of top drift scores (!drf command).

Don't know what an 'angel' score is, unless you mean angle?

Scoreboard will show angle data, but it's not live; that is, will only show angle at end of drift, not a changing number during drift.

There is no Apex Score or grass penalties - I saw that enabled on Fat-Oil's version of lapper, but he changed a lot more than the standard config files to get these. Suggest you read post HERE about his version of lapper.

The X (times) score isn't in the default driftmeter. Could be done, but if I did it, I would just use a HUGE amount of IF statements, e.g.

<?php

IF $driftscore <=2500 $speed >=35
THEN
$driftscore
$driftscore x 0.9
ELSE
IF
$driftscore >=2500 $speed >=35
THEN
$driftscore
$driftscore x 1.1
ELSE
IF
$driftscore >=3500 $speed >=35
THEN
$driftscore
$driftscore x 1.15
ELSE
IF....
?>

Could probably be done lot easier using arrays or something, but that's way beyond my noobish skills.

i never edited that lapper at all it was some demo guy that ran a drift server. so i just had it on my computer

as some people have been saying that speedtest.net has not been fast enough i have uploaded a folder of some graphics files that i had at my school. it is around 40 megs and i uploaded it to a fast server at my hosting company. you can use it to find your internet speed and after you download it then as a bonus you get graphics files to lok at and catch up on graphics.

i attached a screen shot to show you what you should copy from

(sorry my school will not let me use firefox so it is I.E)

Street legal here in germany...

Quote from Krane :

You barely even get snow in the winters but you put your mopeds away for the winter!? When I was young enough to drive a moped, I drove it all year around.

This one time at bandc..., I was was stopped by the fuzz because they thought my moped was tuned, on exiting a bend and swaying the back end way too long what they thought a legal moped could do. It wasn't exactly what you would call a tuned (only honed for maintenance sake), just skills and a worn out back tire meant for summer The police took it for a test drive to measure top speed etc and let me got without even a warning or a scorn

I am Canadian so I am used to the snow
