I made my first render in 3ds max 9 today and Brazil did it`s job fine... It looks so nice and uses about 15 minutes for a 1680*1050 picture with 8 AA samples.. Blender uses about 5-6 hours here. Too bad that 3ds is so tricky to learn, but won`t give up just yet..

I think it is noisy on purpose.. To get that candypaint look or something.. Only paint is noisy and rims are clear and bright..

I cant get Mentalray for Blender to work properly... I guess I have to start with 3ds anyway :P I wonder just one thing. Is the renders in 3ds max done faster than in Blender?

You dont loose a drift if you hit the rev limiter lol. The rear wheels will go faster than the car itself even if you hit the rev limiter and the engine revs down a little... Been there, done that..

AFAIK only Blender is free 3D software but some people can make some nice renders using it.
And there is also 3DS Max, which isn't free and not a crap.

Tweak the settings right and Blender becomes a really good 3D program..
