I think they chose Texas because it's a fairly central location in the US, if they put it on the east coast(which I wouldn't mind ) then the west coasters would all whine, same goes for if they put it on the west coast. Good choice IMO, I've been to Austin, nice city.

Sucks that he's out for the rest of the year, guess I have to find somebody else to like until 2011.

Yep, tired of my friends saying "oh, it's just a bunch of rednecks turning left for 900 laps." You really have to watch it to realize it's more than that. Seeing as the new generation of NASCAR drivers are young northern guys, or foreign.

And seeing as that incident happened AFTER the caution came out, the spotter was probably not on his toes , then had an oh-shit moment once he saw AJ.

Just watched the clip from another view, where AJ was before he went up the track, it looks like the spotter would have no way of seeing AJ until he came onto the track, all the lights, the wall, trailers, etc...

Logano's Dover flip/crash was the same basic slide. Anyways, Johnson's spotter should of warned him of the situation. I just couldn't understand why he couldn't see/know AJ was there.

Yeah honestly, sounds like a spotter error there, maybe it was a low visibility situation from his POV, maybe it looked like he would be clear by the time AJ went up the track, maybe he didn't even think he would go up the track. It's all "maybes" so we can't really blame anybody.

Well usually cars don't re-enter the track after going into the infield, and when they do, they don't fly backwards at 100mph into turn 3.

Watch the first bit with Conway, its AJ>Ambrose>JJ. Thats turn 2, like I said previously. Then going down into turn 3 you can see by the last camera angle (in the very back) Ambrose was on the brakes and Jimmie tried to be superman and just fly around the outside.

So once again, Johnson should have seen him, and even if he couldn't, the spotter should have.

If you look, coming out of 2, Johnson is right on his ass, so he obviously passed him before they got into 3. Being passed by Johnson, ambrose saw AJ, and slowed down.
