Looks like they haven't really worked on the steering wheel that much (no LCD, it's not turning like the G25)

And did anybody else notice the NASCAR rule book on the desk?

Vietnam took place over a course of 20 years, I think that might overtake Afghanistan a bit... I know that people are going to say "well the early years were covert guerilla warefare" well, so was the beginning of OEF.

I think they chose Texas because it's a fairly central location in the US, if they put it on the east coast(which I wouldn't mind ) then the west coasters would all whine, same goes for if they put it on the west coast. Good choice IMO, I've been to Austin, nice city.

Quote from UncleBenny :Man Jimmie slipping to 4th in the standings, good to see! I hate that Juan Pablo is having so much bad luck this year, now that he's pretty much out of the points race though maybe he can start going for broke and get a win on an oval.

I gave up on JPM, keeps making excuses for not winning.

Was walking to an ice cream store with my sister and mom, we passed a tanning salon, and my sister was like "hey I went there!", then I said "why, do you want cancer or something?" Then we looked up, and sitting on a bench near the store (most likely hearing range...) was a family, with a woman with a bald head. I felt like such a dick, even though I really didn't make fun of cancer or anything.

Quote from PMD9409 :Lets not get carried away now.

@AMB: Yeah consistency is the key really. Quite amazing how they can run the same laptimes for 10-15 laps in a row until the tires fall off and the times slowly drop gradually. Tire conservation also is a key. There's alot more to it than just turning left, some people understand that and some don't.

Yep, tired of my friends saying "oh, it's just a bunch of rednecks turning left for 900 laps." You really have to watch it to realize it's more than that. Seeing as the new generation of NASCAR drivers are young northern guys, or foreign.

Quote from PMD9409 :Yeah I'll just say it is a bit dark near the inside wall and spotter lost track of where AJ was.

And seeing as that incident happened AFTER the caution came out, the spotter was probably not on his toes , then had an oh-shit moment once he saw AJ.

Just watched the clip from another view, where AJ was before he went up the track, it looks like the spotter would have no way of seeing AJ until he came onto the track, all the lights, the wall, trailers, etc...

Quote from PMD9409 :Okay I couldn't think of a joke comeback for that.

Logano's Dover flip/crash was the same basic slide. Anyways, Johnson's spotter should of warned him of the situation. I just couldn't understand why he couldn't see/know AJ was there.

Yeah honestly, sounds like a spotter error there, maybe it was a low visibility situation from his POV, maybe it looked like he would be clear by the time AJ went up the track, maybe he didn't even think he would go up the track. It's all "maybes" so we can't really blame anybody.

Quote from PMD9409 :I'd let others pass too when I see a car slide off track infront of me and know its going to carry that momentum and slide right back onto the track.

Well usually cars don't re-enter the track after going into the infield, and when they do, they don't fly backwards at 100mph into turn 3.

Quote from PMD9409 :Right, so much more speed on exit that he was able to squeeze through Ambrose and the wall. He passed Ambrose on the outside, so yeah... that story doesn't add up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJlcUyI-1gg

52 seconds - Jimmie no where near Ambrose.
1:03 - Jimmie still behind Ambrose on exit, 2 car lengths back.
1:21 - (top right of screen) You see Ambrose braking, Jimmie flying by on the outside.

Try again?

Touche
As you see during the whole race, people slow down to let people pass.

Quote from PMD9409 :Did you not even watch the video you posted?

Watch the first bit with Conway, its AJ>Ambrose>JJ. Thats turn 2, like I said previously. Then going down into turn 3 you can see by the last camera angle (in the very back) Ambrose was on the brakes and Jimmie tried to be superman and just fly around the outside.

So once again, Johnson should have seen him, and even if he couldn't, the spotter should have.

If you look, coming out of 2, Johnson is right on his ass, so he obviously passed him before they got into 3. Being passed by Johnson, ambrose saw AJ, and slowed down.

Quote from PMD9409 :Ambrose was ahead of Johnson = less view of where AJ is. Soooooo the criticism is pretty accurate IMO.

Sure as hell looks like ambrose was definitely behind Johnson.

Quote from PMD9409 :I thought it was hilarious that he said he didn't see him coming. Coming out of turn 2 it was AJ, Ambrose, Johnson. They went into turn 3 in the same order, only AJ was spinning down onto the lower part of the track. Ambrose you could see just played it smart and slowed down drastically. Johnson just tried to drive by like nothing happened, and apparantly his spotter didn't say anything either? Right!

Honestly, doesn't look like he could do anything to not get hit, if he went left, he would've still hit him, if he hit the brakes, he would lock them up and most likely hit the wall. You people just try to hard to criticize him.
