All of this blabbering on just because someone suddenly decided to hate on cruise servers...

Hell no. If I feel like driving in LFS but I don't feel like racing, I always go chill at a cruise server. Granted, almost half of the cruisers are nutters who try to act badass by saying that they smoke weed, but if you don't cause trouble, you usually tend to have a lot of fun on a cruise server.
And remember that you went cruising with us about a year or so ago and you were having a ball, Ray

There aren't too many honest drivers nowadays (most drivers would probably speak their mind but that could most likely end up ruining relationships with sponsors)

Balls. I'm nowhere near being a Sporting CP fan but I really wished that the Europa League cup stayed in Portugal for another year.

Quote from RiseAgainstMe! :Did you watch the race this weekend? I was highly entertained.

And apart from this race, which other middle-eastern and asian races have been good to watch? I can count...uh...this race..and maybe the 2010 Abu Dhabi GP just because it was a title decider.
Quote from JackDaMaster :only one spanish gp next year iirc, they are gonna alternate

Let's hope so.

What a ****ing joke. Alternating with Spa??? Good luck getting a bigger fanbase with that decision.
This just makes me want to start raving on about the ridiculous sums of money that have to be paid by the venues to be featured in the calendar, with the european traditional circuits struggling to do so and how much the middle-eastern venues (which by the way are absolute expensive borefests, therefore a WASTE OF MONEY) are favoured by the money-hungry pricks that are running FOM at the moment. So much for "cost-cutting".

Quote from BlueFlame :
I guess we don't know for sure. It seems like a WTF moment for sure, so hopefully they drop Valencia and alternate it with Barcelona instead of axing Spa.

For once I agree with you there. Getting rid of Valencia would be more effective than Spa, at least from a fan's POV.

Sordo gets the seat

Keywords there are "set to join" and "expected to be confirmed". It's not 100% confirmed yet, but still would be good news to see Sordo still being able to bring the fight to the front while Prodrive are sitting some rallies out.

And Rosberg still squeezed two podium finishes out of the 2008 Williams, which wasn't a good car (at least after the early season). So there goes the travesty theory out the window.
Anyway, I really hope Kobayashi makes the best out of his grid spot, this is a huge opportunity for him and Sauber in a car that is proving to be very good, at least good enough to capitalise on any slip-ups from the front teams.

reason #3
From the point of view of Damon Hill, who is involved as an F1 ambassador of sorts, and who has visited Bahrain to assess the situation on several occasions. He has expressed serious misgivings about the race.
When he was in Bahrain, you can bet that the government did everything in their power to hide the problems from him, yet he's still seen enough to be unhappy about the situation.

I agree with those 3 reasons, and pretty much everything you say, but...

During these 3 years the team has come a long, long way from where we were in our first year (even though I wasn't here). Many things improved, such as the drivers' quality, the team's intentions of being a racing team (with cruisers and drifters) and even the Kings bros' spelling improved in these 3 years! The team still has a lot of room for improvement, specially with some childish attitudes that tend to appear every now and then. So happy birthday LLM!

That's pretty much why I've put up the test drivers' thread. I'm still making some testing plans (short and long stints on compounds, see how the tyres react to conservative and flat-out driving styles, and finally the lap time difference to see the restriction distribution), but I don't know if I should add anything else to the things in brackets.

Sorry to be a killjoy here, but it would be great if there was no off-topic banter here. Only post if you want to volunteer to be a test driver.

my bad for not saying that in the OP

Live For Slicks - Test Driver Recruitment

Alright. This is a slightly different thread, and it's for people who want to help us out with the restrictions that we should use for the cars, so as to make them as balanced as possible.

The choice of a test driver is going to be a bit more scarce though, as we are looking for a driver with experience with all 3 cars, and most preferentially, a driver that is fast (but speed isn't compulsory as long as you know the cars well).

So bar a couple of things, the requirement sheet stays the same as in the Race Marshall thread, so:

The restrictions sound like a bit of a headache to me, if I'm honest. It's going to take a while just to get the cars properly and evenly balanced (obviously the ballast is supposed to only act on race results rather than rules).

With that said, it would be great if an experienced (and fast) driver could offer to test all three cars so we could get a good idea of the difference in times and apply the restrictions as we feel the need that just gave me an idea, might be creating a test driver recruitment thread soon
