I bought a cheap daily.
BMW E36 318i Touring.
Sort of M-kit on it. M3 front bumper and mirrors, M-suspension + lowered.
Full black leather interior, heated seats, aircon, decent sound system, full serviced by BMW. Comfy cheap runaround

Quote from Töki (HUN) :BTW, how come you chose the E36 over the S13? Used to be the other way round.

Money at the time. Engine was dead twice and couldn't afford to keep repairing it. It was an awsome car, wish i never sold it but also never could've dreamed that i'd be drifting an M3..;

The BMW handles a little bit more stable imo but i miss the feeling of power the turbo gives you. Might bolt on a tub to the M3

Okay,
Assuming there are a good few real drifters on here i'll open this topic. Here we can discuss stuff related to drifting, setups, wheels/tyres etc..
Warning: This thread may cause permanent damage to most of LFSForum's user. Enter at own risk. (note: wheels might be wider then 7J, beware)
So please if you have a drift car, post it here!

I'll kick this shit off!

The car:
Originally it was a E36 325i from 1994. Now it has an E36 M3 3.2 engine (S50B32) from 1999.

Engine modifications:
Carbon fibre airbox.
Slightly modded exhaust.
Reaching approximate 350BHP.

Drivetrain.
M3 propshaft, M3 driveshafts, M3 LSD 3.15 25% (2 spares of these)
DriftWorks lightweight flywheel.

Suspenion:
Driftwork HSD fully adjustable coilovers. Height, damping, caster, camber.
E46 front LCA's (give 2cm more trackwidth each side) with Powerflex bushings.
Adjustable rear camber arms.

Wheels/Tyres:
Front: DZ Exclusiv DZ1 16x9 ET15
Front tyres: Yokohama Advan Neova AD-08 215/45/16
Rear: Various wheels. 16" all 16x9 et10-et15. 15" stock E36, 15" banded steel 8.5J-9.5J. ET unknown (going minus)
Rear Tyres: For the 16" I use 205/45/16 Wanli S1088 and for the 15" various brand 195/50/15

Interior.
Nardi 350mm dished steering wheel.
Sparco Pro2000 Driver seat. 6-Point Sparco belt.
Unknow passenger seat. 4-point unknown belt.
Compbrake Hydraulic handbrake.
Fully stripped.
Full welded in 6-point cage.
Original M3 cluster. Also has oil temp, thats why.

Pictures:
Stock gear lever is back in, shifts so much better.

Steering lock. Just added 4mm lock spacers. Hubs will go on soon.

A coupé is not always the better choice.. In his case i guess it wasn't really a factor for the mods...

Take my car. 4dr E36, they're lighter and stiffer then a coupe, you can also get rid of allot more weight than a coupe. Also very handy for me, i can fit up to 12-15 tyres in my car! Saves me allot of room in the van

I don't see either what the fuss is all about...

I'm probably am going to get my hands on a genuine Group-N ECU. Original tuned from BMW Motorsport. Really cheap! (cheap as in 750€ knowing new they cost 1400 excl. VAT). Gonna get close to 350bhp then with a thinner headgasket. The whole shit lower compression.... Standard headgasket on the M3 3.2 is 1.74mm thick, this one is 1.6mm. If feel so smart now

Looks great XCNuse!
Just need a slight archroll on the back, will make it look sweet as! But i'm still with my opinion that you need 4x the wheel size+offset you run at the back. The front looks so... empty?

Looks great none the less!

Back to the M3..
Temporary wiring almoust done, my dad is finishing some stuff on the engine itself, got my new ignition lock in (mine broke ) so hopefully will start today or tomorrow...
