I think there should be added wall that prevents jumping from behind of pits to car park.
If you do that it will teleport you back to the track like shown here :

(I can allready see demo noobs trying to crash racers this way )

I can run LFS at really high FPS (100+ fps) on highest settings (except AA and AF, no V-Synce).

Thats bit tricky... When you are in 3rd person more stuff have to be rendered as your car,around your car etc.. By having it first person,there is less stuff to be rendered.
Also try to disable full scene AA (its possible to disable it only in 3rd person (not 100% sure))

Try using other web browsers.
Same thing happened to me when using Chrome then I switched to Mozzila and worked.

Pretty much AA and AF is your problem..Turn them off and you will see pretty big diffrence.
On my GF210 fps goes from 120 to like 30 if I have Full Scene AA to 8x..

Yes,We are both Tofu members.As svajux explained we play on tofu server where track is blackwood reverse.
We race,but it doesnt count as race in stats..And we also drift a lot so.

You can use keyboard and mouse. I'd prefer mouse over wheel too.But later,you can upgrade to wheel because feedback is good.

One of best addons for LFS

I can tell that demo server ban rate increased.
Lfs community is getting bigger because of this video,but more in bad way.
Some of them will buy licence but others will just go to demo servers and crash/act like noobs.

Right choice is to do it by random. As you said : "Driver with best stats,isn't necessarily the most deserving.".
But there are people who are greedy and someone could apply to this by their demo account, but they already have licence.
What you can do,karma will get them.
