Well Hydrogen is about 2 kWh/L and 1 kWh/kg although petrol is around 9 each...So I don't know where you had these figure, but this is wrong. btw volatile doesn't mean power

I'm talking about energy that can provide something. Electricity is way less powerfull than petrol. btw the only energy source that is more powefull than petrol is nuclear.

Btw there are simple fact to look for :

An electrical car need exactly the same power to do the same way (this is physics so btw every car need the same power, then the engine bring it). A small city car can do 500kms for 30 liter petrol. An electrical car with 300kgs battery can do 150-200 kms (in particular helpful condition ofc). So basically you can do 1/3 as much kilometer with petrol than with electricity. Then you have to take account than a petrol engine enable you to have only 30% of petrol power to the wheel whereas electricity is 80-90%. So finally you have that 9-10 power ratio.

Basically this is why car builder do not have lot of electrical cars in their range of product. Simply because it has a lack of power. I have been working in a compagny that was preparing some Honda K20 engine for some prototyp through Europe. We made a study to attempt to replace that Honda power engine (250 bhp @8200 rpm). Such a prototyp (CN class so 540kgs) can do 2hours stint with 80L fuel at Paul Ricard racetrack, with electrical engine, to have the same engine performance, we needed only 150 kW (200bhp but in fact 2 engines of 100bhp each) but we needed 500kgs battery to make 2 hours with that car ! So stop dreaming guys, at the moment, electrical car is a dream although it would be awesome for car dynamic (possibility to have an engine on each wheel, so something like dynamic full driven differential,...).

More : Diesel power sucks basically, if we enable turbo on petrol engine with the same air restrictor and same turbo pressure as diesel,...hum Pescarolo would have won Le Mans last 4 years ^^. Basically two stupid fact about diesel engine : less rpm, so less engine braking and a smaller range of torque utilisation (that's why diesel engine has turbo). Diesel is mainly used because Diesel has a better efficiency than petrol. In industry like transport, naval,... engine are made for efficiency, a naval engine efficiency can be 0.5 although the best car's one should be around 0.35 (0.32 for petrol).

EDIT : Anyway, why do people love auto-racing? Because of the sound of the engine, of the smell of the burnt tyres, the oil and this atmosphere created by mecanical sports. They love to see these men fighting with their machine, doing some things that human wouldn't think they were able to ! So adding some electrical cars in a sport car game would be non-sense.

btw Lotus system made with an electro-engine and a petrol engine as generator is called hybrid.

Quote from N I K I : would have been fun to repass you in last corner.

Yeah but would have funnier to pass you in last straight and finish with 0.01s gap

Let's imagine FXR was the fastest...everyone would drive buses? This is an AWD so basically not a real race car (AWD are prohibited in all FIA races exept rally ofc). So please stop saying LFS tyres are unrealistic, so you are slow because of that...basically you are driving an unrealistical car. Furthermore This is damn more easy to drive so someone driving an FXR pretty well can't claim to be a good driver with some RWD cars (majority of good FXR driver are like TDRT or GraVt). So stop crying and take a man car to show us that we were wrong with these restriction!

Moreover before posting something like that let's assume you are the top team of your Car...which is not the case! I'm pretty sure TDRT, GraVt or AMG would have done some 32...

Btw I have understand nothing on what you say about tyres...If you know that well how a racing car work, why don't you do some alien setup to have some alien pace in race, and become an engineer.

well I gonan say few maths :

- you need something like 10 "Liter" electricity to have the same energy as 1 Liter petrol...

about our race...hum it looks like last round and 24 hours alternate, pace was good, podium was a possibility but something happen ! My connection was quite scary tonight so finally Egon had to take the first double stint and then I have to finish. Because of my timed out in warm up lap, Egon started last but was up to 4th after the first stint. In second stint he manage to maintain a 10 s gap with the lead and give me the car in a good 3rd position.

1 lap after I took over, #13 didn't really respect blue flag and while he was taking a wierd outisde line in T1 (didn't look like he was letting me pass) and finally almost spun right in front of me :s I could avoid him and lost 10s because of that. That's the race ^^ let's catch N I K I now to have fun at the end of the race During half an hour we wer fighting but I manage to catch the 3-4s gap I had wit hhim after that incident and on last lap, an awesome fight started at T3. It was really intense, but definitely clean and we were side by side almost everywhere when we crossed T9...and I got a pop up ! On last lap ! Definitely, spdo is unlucky :'( but anyway it was really fun and it was a great race ! Thanks guys for it !

I agree with Martin ! LFS france have made some leagues on wednesday for many years and sometimes with nearly 75 drivers ! these races were basically some 60 minutes races with a 30 minutes qualify so I think making a 90 minutes races during the week can be a nice and new approach !

Btw awesome news ! Can't wait for it !

First of all I have really enjoyed that race ! Organisation as perfeckt, stream was from far the best I have ever seen in LFS, really appropriated for a 24 hours event. It looked like a real TV studio with commentators !

Regarding our race, Egon and Reno made a good start for us but unfortunately my connection decided to make it a bit more challenging. After that we drop back in 11th position 2 laps down LLL whereas we were fighting for the lead with them. I have to thanks my team mates for doing some awesome stints so we manage to come back in the podium battle at the 12 hours mark. I was pretty happy to give the car in second position after my last stint because I had really lot of fun on track ! Everyone was clean and everyone was letting some room when fighting/lapping them. The track was phenomenal too but I'm still wondering how fun that race could have been without that timed out, because I think spdo and LLL would have finished in the same lap.

Quote from CarstenH :spdoRacing #03 +1 Lap for Shift-P

1 Lap will be removed cause of double join.

Quote from CarstenH :"Dear Community, this year there won't be a penalty for Disconnects. Intentional Disconnects will result in a kick from the event!"

Well it wasn't shift+P but a disconnection. I dunno exactly how many time we lost because of that disconnection but 2 laps looks quite huge for me. Indeed I was disconnected on my 84th lap, so I had completed 83 full laps. My team mate is currently in its 61th lap according to remote so 144th laps, leader is in his 145th. Tracker say leader is in lap 144 and spdo on lap 141.

Quote from N I K I : ironically Ghost it was your teammate who gave you damage, hehe.

Yeah...I have to thanks a lot the #33 XRT that helped me a lot for it; pushing me in t1 and t3. In T2 accident I simply don't see that we are 3 wide and I touch #33 that send #68 to #16. So I appology to the cars that were involved in that incident (although #68 could have go wider and #33 could have given up its impossible overtaking attempt bu tI have to admit that I made the wrong move).

I was totally out of pace after the restart, dunno why, was simply slow, loosing lot of time on my team mate. Was driving without being totally concentrate so I had some bad times with my rear tyres (whereas I was struggling with front in practise). Anyway that race was cool, I try to resist when N I K I catch me but he was too fast for me, having a good side by side in sc2 anyway . Battle for the win should have been epic !

Congratz to N I K I for his win and sbb for his catch up and of course his awesome fair play !

Quote from dekojester :You mean an online / automated (more or less) entry / signup system ? That's been something I wish to do, I mucked about some over the summer trying a few things to try to learn PHP / MySQL to make it work, know what I want to do (generally anyway, specifics tbd), but haven't had time yet to really go gung-ho on it yet.

Yeah exactly, I have always regret FRH not to develops it more (for endurance and teams league).

For me NDR rules are good and leagues made by NDR are always well organized. Only thing that can be done to improve it for me (adding the streamline you did on 1st post) is an automatic system like what gai-luron did in 2005 for frh events and lfs france league (gcomp system, check http://www.lfsfrance.org/)

GTAL and GT2WS can be run in same year. Basically GT2WS would be division 1 and GTAL division 2. In such a situation GTAL could be as restrictive as it was in 1st season and anyway they are lot of teams in GTAL that aren't competing in GT2WS because the level is really high !

GTAL enables feeder teams to fight for the win and earn some confident and experience. It enabled lot of driver to improve and become some of the best racer of LFS. Now these drivers are in top teams like dmT, vtiracing, me () in season 1, seb66, tomhah (that was already one of the best in season 1), torpp1s in season 2 and sca-f1, isaacprice, drunk guys, drifter only i nseason 3 and lot of others.

I think there is still enough teams in LFS to make these two leagues, with two cars.

Can be understood but what I don't understand is how you rejoin racing line.

1/ you almost crash #92
2/ you kill your rear tyres
3/ you could have created a bigger accident

Anyway I think it wasn't intentional and maybe you thought you were going to let enough room in your left for the racing line and stay at the inside for next turn.

hum there is no need to put some anti-short-cut everywhere...I think that with its fast corner it is slower to short-cut (exept for the chicane).
