This is what happens when i get bored and have free time on my hands.

It's sort of car related, i guess. I mean it was in my car at one point.

Ford Fiesta mk5 2003.
I didn't think that the details on what car would be needed. As im pretty sure this happens to lots of cars, and i thought it would be something similar between them, my bad.
I'll check plugs and check for a spark from the leads when she gets back home, and its definitely not battery, it didn't sound like it was struggling to start from that, it was happy to turn over, just wasn't happy to start haha.

Did you hear about the fire at the circus? It was intense.
If you dont get it, read it out aloud.

Having a bit of an issue with the gf's car, seems to be really struggling to start, and when it does start it struggles to idle without dying. It just randomly started doing this yesterday.
Could this be spark plugs? Or i was thinking maybe something to do with the cold weather? As i dont think she has any anti freeze in there?

Quote from Jakg :"The big three" consists of the alt's ground, and the batteries ground (and also the alt postive)

Alt ground? You mean engine block to ground?

Quote from Jakg :
I've got loads of 4AWG (and even 2x5M 0AWG runs) spare... but I just can't see a point using it.

Well if I had some spare cable I'd give it a go, you don't lose anything but then you'll know wether it really does work or not.
I remember I read something about this a few years ago, It said it does work because with the better grounding it gives a stronger spark to ignite your fuel. But I don't know if it was b/s or not

Amen to that!
Got 20 kills in my first match with it, and that's using the guns at their most basic form.

Quote from Jakg :I can understand that if you put more load on the vehicles electrical system, you might want to upgrade the batteries earth (i.e. a large ICE install)

Never heard/seen of anyone upgrading just the battery earths for a large sound system, normally its the Big 3, which is in 0 Gauge and not 8 Gauge.

You can get 8 Gauge wire for about £15, so it would probably be worth doing just to see if this multiple ground thing actually works. If it works then happy days, if it doesn't then you only lose out on £15.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :lol reading the daily mail again have we.

Nope, read it in my local newspaper, so I took a trip down to a few reservoirs and they were indeed almost empty. This time last year we had 'extreme' flooding I think. So quite a big change.

Winter doesn't seem to have set in at all here, tbh it sort of seems like its summer. Not that its warm, its just that there hasn't been heavy rain in quite a while, so our reservoirs are at less then 1/4 capacity, meaning there will be a hose pipe ban soon, which is something that normally only happens during the summer. It's quite chilly here but its bearable in just jeans, shirt and a hoody.

If you wire your subs up in parallel, each sub will have a load of 2ohms, when you wire them together in parallel it will then be 1ohm. Your amplifier isn't designed to handle that resistance. You will need to wire one voice coil to the other in series, and then each sub together in parallel.

Or change amplifier to one that handles 1ohm.

Quote from logitekg25 :one last hassle with you, i hope

this is the updated, and perhaps final list of whatever.

If you do buy two of those subs you will have to wire the two voice coils in series to bring the ohm load to 8ohm, and then wire both subs in series to bring it back down to 4ohm. So your power at 4ohms on your amplifier is 500w, meaning 250w to each sub.

Also ported box's tend to be for SPL, as in if you build a ported box its going to be mainly for car shaking.
Sealed boxes tend to be for quality, if you build a sealed box its going to not have as much rumble, but sound far far better.
So it depends on what you want exactly.

Edit:
Also, just wondering, why cant you use your current build in headunit? Why does this DSP radio mean you cant build upon that?

I think he means using the TomTom on his iPhone, so he cant plug the gps in separately as its on the phone.

Who cares what game is better? If somebody enjoys MW3 let them enjoy, why does everybody need to constantly put them down. And the same with people who enjoy BF3. I prefer MW3 over BF3 and that's my choice, if somebody prefers BF3 that's their choice, and im not going to argue with them about it. A games just that, a game, ****ing hell since when did the internets get so serious.

No replies in 2 months? Strange, especially as it was released yesterday. Bought it today but was with a friend so we just had a bash on the Spec Ops Survival mode, we both really liked it. First new thing we've seen and we loved it. Just need to sit down and get on with the campaign.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :I remember that's the car that if you want to change the head unit, you have to CUT YOUR DASHBOARD APART. funny pic though.

Missus has this one, so not funny that to fit an aftermarket headunit you need to chop it up! It'll look horrible if its not done properly either. Luckily you can buy the GPS dash part which doesn't have the bars, but unluckily its £70!!

Spent about 4 or 5 hours today putting an amp and sub in using the original headunit. Total nightmare!

You can backup your phone to someone elses computer, but if you've purchased apps and such you'll have to "authorize" there computer with your apple ID, otherwise it wont transfer your apps/purchased items.
But if you authorize their computer, then right click your iphone and click backup it will backup everything minus music and videos.
Then after update just use your backup and everything will be back on, you'll have to put any music or videos back on yourself but from then on you wont need itunes for anything anymore.
Although if its videos you've taken i think they get backed up too, just not videos you've put on yourself.
Hope i helped.

Quote from Electrik Kar :It started off well. Midway through it was apparent that the film was ripping off Poltergeist. I think it went downhill from there.

Btw, have you seen Poltergeist? Probably still one of the best ghost movies ever made.

Never seen it, started downloading it now so will watch it tomorrow night hopefully.

Also watched The Next Three Days, an absolutely fantastic film! Loved it, definitely worth a watch.

Yeah I could just google if I wanted to, or I could just buy it like I have, it doesn't make a difference and it doesn't affect you so why do you care? Once I've tested it I can easily sell it on to some boy racer in his Saxo for the same price I bought it for, so I don't lose anything.

Sorry what's the comparison between letting someone shit in my mouth, and spending a few quid on something to see what it's like.

Yup! It came up in conversation a few days ago, some of my friends seem to think it will make a huge difference, i think if it makes any difference it wont be noticeable, if it even makes a difference.
So thought id spend the £20 just to see who's right. Also bought a switch for it which i can connect to my throttle so that when my throttle is open the fan will turn on, which is apparently how its meant to be.
Just waiting for it to get down to see if its a load of bullshit or not.
I expect the former.

Thnk you for the quick replies, it is for a hid kit I've been given, it's for a car but I've managed to get it to work on a separate switch but I need a relay to get it to work with the standard light switches, will try one of those headlamp relays tomorrow.

Can somebody answer me a quick question? I need to put a relay on my bike, but the ones im using don't seem to be working, but then i remembered that im pretty sure bikes run on a different electrical system to cars? Ones AC and the others DC or something along those lines. Will i have to get a motorbike specific relay for it to work? Or maybe am i just doing something wrong with my current one?
