Download the bodykits, at the bottom of the downloads page. They include dirt layers (some of them, at least).

Quote from skiper :Well, guys, so that we didn't have any uncertainties like this, make the rules EXACT by the next round.
Like the following type:
DO NOT put LFS elements into real photograph.
DO NOT use any real photo details in LFS screenshots.

That's because there are indistinct and uncertain instructions in your rules. Is that so diffictul to think a little bit harder at least once and make the rules more specific?

There isn't any uncertainties:
"You may incorporate external non-LFS images into your work, but you MUST give a link to any images used."
This clearly allows you to use non-LFS images. It's just that some people think that you shouldn't. Personally I think the rules are fine as they are.

A little something that demo guys can enjoy too. I swear I didn't copy anything from kitkat's skin!

Thanks guys!

Quote from AudiBG :Some FZs

Really nice! The second has some pretty noticeable cover-ups, though.

What do ya think? (:

The first one isn't half bad, I just don't get the light blue things. Must be some filter thing.. The blur on the second pic doesn't work, even if the car certainly stands out.

Thought I'd try a drift edit, haven't done them in ages. Plus my Boso skin needed more love..

Um, no you didn't. But whatever, first go to deviantart (or just google) and download a few sets of nice dirt brushes. (I'm assuming that you use photoshop or something similar with layers and brushes). After you have the brushes, I'd recommend to make a new file for a dirt kit. Use the brushes to apply dirt, and when you are happy with the result, copy&paste it on a skin you want. Save the dirt document as a transparent .png for later use.
Making dirt kits isn't that hard, but it takes a lot of patience aligning/blending the dirt over the corners. Also, use multile brushes to avoid patterns.

I could easily upload both a 2048 skin and a preview with 2MBs..

It could help if you uploaded some pics. Not everyone here has Shift.

I have to agree with Lynce, a stunning bunch of entries! I hope that the next week will be just as popular. My top two were JO53PHS and JazzOn, and I had real hard time choosing. Had to go with JO53PHS in the end.

Good work, it's a shame you can't finish it.. The lag twitching was unfortunate, but I know you can't do anything to it.

Heh, no damage done, I don't mind editing for personal use as it is tastefully done (and besides, what could I do). But dirt kits are always nice, saves me some trouble

Quote from JO53PHS :They're supposed to be cracks in the road surface but they kinda fail at the moment. I might change them a bit.

I'm pretty sure that the cracks should be blurred too.. But anyway, nice shot!

You can upload it to LFSworld after buying S1/S2 license, and then others can see it in multiplayer. Demo racers are not allowed to ask licensed players to upload their skins.

Quote from brandons48 :All you need is shadow and highlight to create the illusion of a vent.

I guess.. I was thinking of one with a steel trim or something, but I'll try it on some other pic. I guess XRR or XFR would be suited for the task better anyway.
