Quote from Boris Lozac :Umm, this one is, and if i recall, real cars are driven with stearing wheels and pedals.. so until you play it with a wheel, restrain yourself from comments. I can't believe people can play with controller, but it's more absurd when they start judging the game by playing it with a controller.

Someone is getting worried because his Uber awsome PS3 exclusive wipe the floor with forza 3 is being called crap.

Quote from danthebangerboy :Its pretty much stopped snowing here now, just the odd little flurry. If it freezes overnight we will be f--ked though, well, i will be anyway, that little white thing is a bastard in the rain, so with snow it will be much worse, especially with the spinning out it did at 2mph earlier, but there is about 4 times more snow now than what there was then, plus i did a nice little sidways drift into that parking space, all evidence of which has been covered by more snow now, it could get interesting on the way to work, especially as i cant find my pair of hakka tyres on steel rims that i got a couple of years ago that i planned to use when and if the weather got really snowy.

You've got snow camo

Quote from dawesdust_12 :They do. G25 goes into DFP compatibility mode. Momo Black worked on like everything on the PS2, dunno about Momo Red. DFP works (obviously), DFGT works (likely in DFP mode as well), then there's a bunch of vibration wheels that work as well.

Then the Fanatec apparently works, as does a lot of random gamepads...

Nobody can say that the PS3 lacks hardware support, unlike the 360 that supports.. 2 wheels?

You forgot the Fanetec. That makes it three.

Anyway i'll have to try this when I get chance.

Quote from Zay :Thanks! I figured it out now. Once gain, thanks alot man.
However, I have came into another problem. I have completed the whellie ambulance level and when the game is explaining the next challenge to me(the limo fire truck), I keep getting kicked off and the error report comes up. I suspect that scratches on the disk are the problem, is there any way to remove the scratches? I have heard that toothpaste works, is that true?

thanks,
zay

o0 install the patch. I had that problem. Patch fixed it. IIRC devs ****ed it up.

Quote from jibber :No, no, no.... this isn't how a car feels on a track in real life. It's like GT5P had sex with NFS shift.

I'm going to play it more and will try to not put it away too fast, give it a serious chance, but the initial feeling (driving about 10 laps with each car) is really bad.

Are you guys pushing the cars to their limits and further, to explore the details of the physics when tyres are loosing/have lost grip? Because i think it simulates some "effects" of driving a car quite well (like NFS Shift), but if you really put the physics to a test (pushing the car), it's just terrible (GT5P was better IMO, but it's similar, just even more canned now).

If this is how a real car behaves, then i'm the queen of england.

I've driven quite a few RWD cars in real life, and i've been to tracks with two of them... it's totally different. It's fun actually, and not canned/difficult/weird/cumbersome like GT5. If it would be like that, i wouldn't take my car to a track in real life, because it just wouldn't be much fun!

And i'm not comparing this to Forza 3, because FM3 is quite arcade aswell in certain areas of the physics. I'm comparing to how i know a real car will handle (more or less, depends on the car of course). LFS always was the most realistic one in this regard. Forza always managed to get the very basic physics right aswell, but is way more arcade compared to LFS. GT5 is just wrong (in regard of physics when exposed to extreme situations (slides, catching slides, spinning the car, blabla))...

And for all you people who are going to label me as an xbox fanboi now...
I was always a fan of the GT series, and i would want nothing more for GT5 than good physics, because i love the rest of the game (cars, graphics, design and layout, it's just great). But i can't help it if the physics feel wrong to me.

The best sim on a console to date is Supercar Challenge on the PS3, period. It looses in all the other aspects, like graphics, career design, AI (just a nightmare), online, etc. But the physics, spot on! So yeah, don't label me an xbox or Forza fanboy please, because Supercar Challenge wins for me, and that's on the PS3.

Anyway, i shall give it another try now... taking my time, trying to get adjusted to it a little more maybe... we'll see.

PS: Did you guys notice there's a traction control setting (it's set to "7") that you cannot turn off...

Quote from Bob Smith :I've had this since the start of the month:

High res shots: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Makes a proper roar with an Arden exhaust system. Loves to drink fuel though. Still making me smile at motorway slip roads, or when racing an Elise back from Sunderland last weekend.

oh god he's got a jaaaaag. RUN. I suppose you are too good for us now ey Bob. Owning a Jag.
