I know when my dad test drove a kia rio they didn't ask for insurance or anything and the dealer didn't come along. (Ok I admit the dealer has known my dad for years)

Well the problem is more than the psu the comp won't boot now. I suspect the Mobo is ****ed

Quote from Jakg :No, you had an EZCool one.

Well at least it didn't explode.

I asked my dad and he said my mobo is 4 pin.

Would you rate this as a good PSU?

http://www.tekheads.co.uk/prod ... upply-500-Watt_24985.html

and does it have all the right connectors?

edit: is OCZ's RMA service really as good as the testimonials say? If so then I will probably go with that PSU
edit: can a asrock asrock k10n78 be run with 1 4 pin connector? I think it can. (If the socket with the little 8 pin sticker is the one i am thinking of)

Good power supply on a budget.

Well my PSU just bit the dust. About 1 3/4 years it lasted. I can understand why it died. It was ususually under load due to my gaming. Luckily I know from the past what can happen when a cheap psu dies (my dad's old psu basically exploded but luckily didn't take out his pc) so I had bought a decent PSU which when it died fizzled out with no dramatic burning. Anyway I am looking for something with more than enough power for my system. My budget is probably around £50 so I am looking for something decent which will last. I would rather go with someone trust worthy like OCZ or Anatec. Anyway it needs to have enough power for a AMD Phenom 2 940
Nvidia GTS250 Green edition
8gb Crucial balistix ram.
And I would like to be able to have power spare for sli in the future if I ever decide to. Anyway the lowest wattage I would feel is alright would be about 500W. And It needs to have enough cables for the mobo, gfx card, dvd drives, 2 sata hard drives and a floppy disk drive. Ofcourse I will have to stick to UK based shops as it is my dad who will be ordering it.

I aint bothered about fancy lights or anything like that. I just need a PSU which won't kill my pc when it dies and will last a long time.

Thanks in advance.

got half way to school and gave up. Sure if we had a 4x4 we could get but my mum's picanto stands no chance. It hardly got up a hill on the way back.

that mx5 looks almost perfect. That would cost what £50 to fix unless there is internal damage
