Quote from scoobyrbac :Hey im not tryin to be mean but could you atleast give or video cards a run for the money? We buy almost $200 video cards and here they say its a racing sim...but in other sim's they are 300 times better than this...like Flight Simulator X couldnt you get grafix like that?

The graphics don't make the game- they only make it better. If they make or break it for you, then you're not playing the right one illepall

Too bad for me, I can't be too picky with the servers I join. I have to get up early on the weekends to have a good shot at a server worth joining. All I see now is one FO8 server and one FOX server (both at BL1)

Tell your friend to get in his car and violently throw the steering wheel left and right while travelling in excess of 160kph. Then ask if it's anything like GT4

Quote from theblackrabbi :I have a simple question for you people. As many of you, or maybe none of you know I'm a little crazy. I say this in a way that I can't stop racing weather it's on the computer, or on the street. Does anyone else feel weird when somebody passes them on the road, or does anyone else feel as I do the need to always find the perfect path around traffic? I have an addiction, and I find that now when I drive in the streets of Los Angeles that I actually get angry at drivers cause none of them have anywhere close to as much experience racing/driving/anything when it comes to cars. I just feel that I'm Superior and it comes out in my driving. It's a way of life and I can't stop until I get my Licenses suspended again. Okay enough of this crazy rant.

By the way I know the kind of opinions I will get that will be negitive...
1:don't drive like that out in the street you will kill somebody
-well I never got into an accident and never caused anyone to.

2:save that driving for the track
-another lame excuse

I'm just asking that those type of people stay clear and go watch the news or something cause I want to know who has that need for speed-not the game-it sucks-LFS is the only way to go

On the road(not in racing, I don't race) , I don't care if somebody passes me. If I'm driving the speed limit (around town, I try to save gas), I don't care if people pass me- because nobody passes me when I'm actually pushing it

I do, however, get angry with idiotic drivers. People who clearly don't have a clue as to how to drive (most SUV drivers) but still drive way too fast for their car's ability and theirs.

My advice: just chill out and save your mind and gas for when it really matters- watching a spoiled high-school brat push too hard to keep up and wreck the expensive car his/her parents bought them.

"Noob" is a really stupid term to use.

That said, knowing the meaning of it makes me think that you are in no position to use it. Ever.

thats tobad, so many ppl like this clip, seems u guys are copying each others posts yet calling me immature etc, hahah ur all noobs,

Honestly, I found the video entertaining- but that's not the point.

I looked at your other posts and they're all pretty similar to this one- you manage to take offense to EVERYTHING and then spout insults like there's no tomorrow. If those aren't clear signs of social issues, I don't know what are. You're only fooling yourself.

Grow up, kid. The world doesn't put up with this BS that you're putting out. Sooner or later, you are going to say the wrong thing to the wrong guy and end up in the hospital, crying for your mother.

u obviously sucked at SLRR drift and are jelous, this is a classic situation
hehehaha, have a cry

I think you and your mentality give us drift fans a bad name.

Please refrain from projecting your thoughts and feelings through any medium that could be heard/read/telepathically realized/understood by anybody until you stop behaving in the manner of an arrogant child.

Grow up. Go outside. Get some social skills.

This is a rather lame discussion. Nobody's convincing anybody else of their point and the argument is becoming more and more polarized.

If anything, get one last post in on this thread and let the thread DIE.

I'd rather not have everyone be so angry with oneanother, so I'll say this:

They say drifting is like figure skating- then racing is like speed skating. The two sides both have a great deal of skill, though they are quite often misunderstood. The two cannot coexist at the same time, so they can take turns. Also, neither side should not start arguing against the other, because when you step back and look at it- it's just a bunch of people in tights arguing

i want a gittin skin

The Falken skins are the closest match as of now. If nothing else, you can take one and add your own decals- it would probably take about 5 minutes once you've found everything.

Quote from richspeedway :Hi there everyone I am a newbie and have just sent off for my license. I downloaded a version of the game under full version and the uk. I started up on it and put my steering wheel on but I could not drive the car. I sorted out the buttons so they were ok but the wheel went on a mind of it's own and the car would just not budge. I put it into auto for starters so that I oculd just get a feel for the car and worry about gears yet but I just could not do anything. I bet I have done something wrong that is very easy but just wondered if anyone could help.

Cheers

Richard

Do you have the correct driver for the wheel?

Don't forget that most people who play this game live in Europe- which means when we're playing, they're sleeping.

At the moment(17:46, GMT -8hr), there are only 137 people online. Factor in the fact that many of them are demo-users and that number becomes even smaller.

Unfortunate? Yes, but I can usually find a few good races at this time of night.

Grip just refers to keeping rear end in line with the front, sliding or not. "Racing" drift refers to situations where sliding the back out wide is faster.

And yes, I've watched that "****ing cartoon"

In order of interest for watching on TV:
-Any form of Superbike/Supersport racing(World, British, AMA, etc.)
-WRC.
-Some forms of street racing.
-125cc class, MotoGP.
-V8 Supercars.
-250cc class, MotoGP.
-MotoGP.
-D1GP.
-Touring cars.
-Openwheel racing.

Hate to watch on TV:
-Oval racing.
-Drag racing.

My reasoning:

The closest racing is to be had only on closely-matched machines. MotoGP is fun to watch, but was frustrating this year for much of the year if you exclude the rounds with Melandri, Rossi, Capirossi, etc. fighting it out. (Rossi didn't win the title, but Hayden didn't deserve it after all of Rossi's bike trouble). I like close car racing, but close bike racing is 100x more interesting.

WRC is fun because they go at insane speeds off-road that I wouldn't even dare on pavement. F1 is similar in that the cars are never close to eachother

Moral issues aside, I find some street racing is fascinating to watch.

Oval racing and Drag racing CAN be fun to watch if you actually go to the events, but they're plain dull if you watch them on TV.

Quote from amp88 :I didn't ban him and there were no other admins on at the time, so as far as I know he did not get banned from the server. You should have read the last sentence of my post...

I think the point is more that people flip out about things in a game way more than they should. People get so stuck in their virtual world that they react horribly to situations that are even slightly different from exactly what they want. Needless to say, in an online game with connection issues and less-than-professional drivers, this is a very unrealistic approach.

Few servers(DSR and Redline come to mind) have actually found a realistic balance of strictness and forgiveness for an online game. In real life, you can go ahead and be 100% strict and forgive no one because it's real with very real consequences. LFS should be for people to relax, not get uptight and angry about minor issues (though, really, the same type of loser who loses it over a "racing incident" would probably lose it over the same in LFS.
