well... i´ve done a full test of this app... and it is great! Thanks!
Now, some questions:
I´ve tested on an own server, but, how can i add it to a dedicated server running on a pc i don´t know where? i mean... i know the ip, and the insim port... but stills cant connect.... I think the only way is to run the app on that pc... but thats not really possible. The server is rented and they dont let me access the pc... is someting i can do?
This addon is exactly what i´m looking for.... the only problem is that is not working...
I know, you said i need some basic knowledge of insim, but... can you help me a little bit?
Tell me if this is right:
The server must be connected to insim relay, right?
I must know the server IP and port and put it in the right window of the app.
I put the server name in the left window, and click add server, then i´ll see the connections, and etc..
Thanks for your patience...
Hi!! I found this application very useful, and in the argentinian league we are trying to use it also in qualy sessions, but.... have a look at this little bug.... i ve marked with a red circle the wrong laptimes...
Hope you can fix this soon...
Great job programming this app! Thanks you!!
EDIT: i´m checking the exported xml file, and found that is exported right. So, it´s just shows wrong on the laptimes list, nothing else...
Again, excellent work!
ok.... now, i did it all again and seem to connect. I ran the dedicated server on a PC and joined from another (not from the same network). Later i tried to join again and while connecting.... i get no response, i mean, it says "connecting to server" and returns to the menu again... what would be the problem?
i have the same problem, i created a server but no one can join.
I´m sure i checked portfoward.com (got a zyxel prestige 660 router with many pc on network) and did all right. i have ZA and configured right too, and even disabled the firewall. I only can join via the same PC (local network using 127.0.0.1). I see in the dedicated server program window that many users try to connect but always get "new guest timed out". If i try to join from another PC i get "client connect: connect failed". How do i know if the port are correctly open? don´t know what else to do....
I´ve tested all the GTRs on Ky GP Long Rev and going straight to the point to give my opinion:
XRR with 25kg added and %2 of engine power restriction. The power-weight is the same as now (50kg added) but i think it´s better balanced with FXR.
FZR should have 50kg, and %1 of engine power restriction. The point is that the FZR has great aerodynamics, so in the same track where the XRR has 11 of rear wing (and the FXR has only 3!), the FZR uses 17 and is still faster on the straights. A reduction of power will force it to lower the wings to keep the speed on straights and reducing the downforce/grip on turns... just an opinion... hope is useful to you...
Laptimes:
FXR, 2.13.5, R2-R2 racing set(not hotlap), 15% fuel (5 laps stint)
XRR, 2.13.3, R2-R2 racing set(not hotlap), 15% fuel (5 laps stint)
FZR, 2.13.7, R2-R2 racing set(not hotlap), 20% fuel (5 laps stint)
First: thanks a lot for your time trying to help me!
Second: i´ll explain the situation; i work in a computer store and PC´s are connected on a network receiving internet from a router (as i explained before). My idea is to run the Dedicated Host program in order to create an own "permanent" server on a PC at the computer store. I play LFS from another PC at home...
The router connects to internet via a dynamic ip, but it has assigned 192.168.0.1 as a local ip (network). I´m running the program on a PC that has 192.168.0.6.
setup.cfg (dedicated host program)
// optional: local specified ip address
/ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
// a high number below 65536
/port=63392
I tried here many IPs but nothing. The server seems to connect to master server and it appears on LFSW, but still not in the in-game list...
Do you mean setting the server (line "ip" in the setup.cfg) with that ip? it´s not working...
May be there´s some trouble because a have a router that connects itself to internet, that router goes to a switch and my computer (the host) gets internet from there.
I have some similar problem... I´m using the Host dedicated program to create a server. It appears in LFSW, but i can´t see it on in-game list. And if i try entering with "join specific game" (from other machine/network) i receive a "client connect:connect failed"...
I tried all that you said here, Control Panel > Windows Firewall > Exceptions and add LFS.exe to the list; disconnecting the firewall, openning the port 63392 and different king of server configuration...
