As requested by Quicksilver, here are my competition entries in High res (1024*1024 can be found on the competition site).

Have fun .

Edit: LX6 was the wrong colour combo. Changed.

Quote from StableX :Quick Question on the points and how that will work.

Obviously the UF1 is slow in comparison to the TBO so wont manage the same amount of laps. Does it work so that those in the lower classes still get points even if a lap down on the faster cars?

It did work this way all along and I'm sure it works like that with the UF1 as well. Becky more or less confirmed in another thread that it doesn't matter on any server if you finish a lap down. You still get points if you're within 108% and in the top 6-8 or so.

I'm not at all questioning the adaptation, I think it's great that you guys are trying as hard as possible to get all those servers populated. I was mainly expressing my concerns, really. You built it -- let's just hope that they will come .

(note to myself: need to race more)

I'm getting the feeling that there are just not enough active CTRAers to populate all those servers, no matter how they're arranged. Sure you can try to optimize their use, but you stated in that other thread, Becky, that 5,012 different drivers have joined a ctra-server since x went live. Wouldn't that point to the fact that we're kidding ourselves when looking at those 13,500 licenced racers on the ctra-page? Seems around 8,000 of those are not active .

Just remembered a movie that's, errh, a little different:

Crash (1996) by David Cronenberg
(it's rather disturbing, though)

Quote from AndroidXP :Well, you know, the easiest solution is, like mentioned above by zeugnimod, to simply look up where the license status changes on the score lists.

That's easy enough, thx.

1,747 left then, I guess (unless becky has used some crazy odd figure).

Quote from SpikeyMarcoD :Wow even I have more now and i started a thread about it. The timing you are on the server is also critical atm. Once server 2 opens it will get better for us mortals.

Well, that's from six races of which 2-3 were not tracked because of system downtime. In another 2 or 3 I was wrecked*.

*) It wasn't really bad wrecking but more the small annoying kind where you ask yourself whether it's worth reporting and decide against it, because you're too lazy to figure out how the reporting system actually works. Was annoying enough to not race there anymore, though.

I'm working on getting below 10%, actually, but I guess I won't have a problem achieving that once the stats are reset. Unless I drive fe green too much, that is, where I almost always get a yellow on lap 1 through the chicane, even when I'm perfectly clean through there (which is likely to have to do with the CTRA-layout).

And is it illegal to write r2p in here?

For all of us who always hated math in school and forgot everything about it the very second they graduated: How do I figure out, how many points I have left to gold when my current status is 2553 pts and 41% to gold?

I have a feeling I need to know how many points were necessary to get bronze, but I'm a total math dummy and it's likely that I'm utterly wrong.

Edit: yes, sorry, I meant silver, not bronze.

Quote from ChiliFan :Winning (1969)

I caught the end of this film once and it had the Indy 500 from 1969, and some great camera angles.

Nice tip, never heard of that one. Paul Newman is in it, so it can't be all bad, I guess.

Edit:
Quote from MAGGOT :All you need. (FFW through the stupid talking bits and watch the sweet cars racing)

"Stupid talking bits" is a funny thing to say in regard to "Le Mans" as people hardly talk anyway in that movie (and the little they do talk, I quite like, tbh). I think the first 20 minutes or so, the only talk is that of the race track announcer (or whatever you'd call it). Classic! My favourite part of the movie. You'd hardly find anything like it nowadays, as movies have to be "fast" right from the beginning.

I don't know how their stats are worked out, but it seems strange that there are 932 winners in 804 events .

After hearing all those positive remarks about the quality of racing on the ss-server, maybe it is time for me to venture there -- again .

American Graffiti (1973) by George Lucas

It's actually more about growing up, but cars do play a major part in it. I've seen it 15 years ago, I think, but I remember that I enjoyed it.

Well, as of now, I really don't need to be fast, I just need my drivers to not crash as that alone is sufficient to finish 1st and 2nd in my current league .

Edit: Of course it didn't work out either this time. Fabio Gonzales crashed again .

Well, last night my other driver crashed on lap 13 (didn't say in the traits that my drivers were superstitious). Luckily I still earn good money for 4th place .

But anyway, I've got another question:

It says that the technical departement will help my drivers to perform better in the race, but does that mean they are less likely to crash out, too, or is performance meant in the sense that they will be faster and will have better pit-stops only?

Quote from thisnameistaken :Her face looks very similar! I never knew our dog had relatives in Europe, I would've pestered them for cheap holidays.

Cute dog. My girlfriend says she'd like one just the same.

Well, if you're not too fastidious and would not have minded staying on an old canvas cover on a parking lot, she probably would have acommodated you -- for a couple of bags of Royal Canin.

And so far we have avoided getting her pregnant, but if we change our minds, we'll send the puppy over .

I thought the general consensus was that we needed chassis flex simulated before karts would actually make sense ... .

Quote from thisnameistaken :I don't think I have any better pictures. Here's another small one. The dog sadly died about 18 months ago of old age, which I suppose isn't bad considering that we took her from a rescue shelter aged about 2.

Sorry to hear that (well, that she died, not that you took her from the shelter, of course).

Well, it's a little OT, but here's ours. We brought her home with us from Sicily almost three years ago when she was a little over one year old according to Dottore Buongiorno (that really was his name). She does bear a certain resemblance to yours, I think:

Strange to see the same pictures several times in the same thread. There must have been some merging going on, I guess.

Can I see a better picture of your dog, kev? It might just look almost exactly like mine.

Edit: me is in the avatar, of course.

Okay, thx Dajmin. But just to be sure if my calculations are correct:

My finances are as follows:
current funds = 600k
income per race = 300k
expenses per race = 353k
profit per race = -53k

Am I correct in thinking that I could theoretically keep going like this for 11 races (53kx11=583k) before I actually need a sponsor, because my current funds will keep me on the plus-side?

Sorry, if this is a dumb question, but I'm just not sure where my 600k all of a sudden came from. Before the last race I had 300k of current funds and expenses of almost 300k so I was expecting to end up with funds of 300k (tv rights income) and not double that amount.

Edit: nevermind, I just had a look at my "team messages" and learned that I got 200k for 1st and 100k for 4th place in magny cours

Thx. So it would probably smart to sack my designer and hire a commercial manager instead (even though those guys are much more expensive). Problem is, it seems I can't afford it without missing the next race. Unless the figure "current funds" is correct. So here's another question:

If I spend almost 300k per race, which I do, and my only income is the 300k from tv rights why does it say that my "current funds" are over 600k? That can't be right, can it?

Well, exciting league I'm in. Only one other team actually has drivers, but the team manager doesn't seem to be active (no qualifying times). Still I only got 1st because Sarah Porsche crashed out in lap 13.

And my sponsor negotiating is really slow. It's gonna take forever before anyone will offer a deal, it seems. I guess I should have gotten a commercial manager .

Edit: And a question: If it says the track is damp right now, will it stay like that for tonights race?
