well, what I was asking for was maybe if you guys were already familiar with this issue and know an exact solution to it, not just putting out ideas that you've never tried or have heard that works for sure. I never said that I wouldn't open it up but I want to know about things that I should look out for when I open it up and if you can possibly specify where the squeaking is coming from.

Seeing as this thread was quite pointless, although I appreciate the idea a few here mentioned of using WD40 which is something to consider so a thank you to you . I will call Logitech sometime this week to ask them if they know a way to fixing it.

I appreciate the comic humour you and Kev have, however, you lads are milking it now and while I found it hilarious at the beginning, it gets annoying after a while so stick to topic please .

I was thinking of using a lubricant but I don't want to risk it until I'm sure of what the problem is.
Only after 1 month of use, G25 Clutch pedal squeaky?

Hi all! well, last night, something worrying started happening. My clutch pedal started squeaking every time I released it quickly. The clutch still works properly but I do want to stop the squeaking so anyone else know how to fix this or have had it before? Thanks!

Fantastic car really, truly amazing. I'm definitely interested in competing in such a league.

I think the league should run on strictly S2 tracks (incl. new Blackwood), maybe run on one S1 track like SO Long but thats it really. As Storm said, the kerbs just wreck the car at Fern Bay.

Quote from garph :Sounds like you'd be taking an already small niece market game and making it into an even smaller niece market game. If I'm understand you right it would take a lot of time, effort and people to even make the car let alone race it.

I can't see it ever happening, sorry

Well, like I said in my post, I've talked to Victor directly on Skype and he said its an idea to consider so its not an impossibility.

Harjun, honestly, these kind of "I want to be in a team" posts really don't get you anywhere proper with teams because IMO, if you want to join a proper team where you know the drivers are well mannered and have been around for a while, invites is the way to go. Whenever I want to join a team, I choose specific teams. My first attempt was with DBP or Driven By Passion which initially, was formed by myself and mkinnov8 but then a load of complications lead me to leave the team. My second attempt was with T7R or Triple 7 Racing but apparently, I decided to join at a bad time when the team was being renovated, new team managers and so on so they told me that the possibility of me getting into the team would be slim at the time and that I would have to be somewhat patient about it but in the end, it just fell apart. In the end, I got an invitation from Dynamic Racing where a good few of my mates raced so I accepted it and I'm now a DR member.

Point of this story is prove yourself as a driver on the track, which I'm sorry to say Harjun, you really don't seem to put the effort in, and keep on the lookout for teams that you think the drivers are good guys and, if you care about that kind of thing, they've got speed.

I mentioned an similair idea to Victor except the difference is that each team would have a budget and the devs would have made the parts themselves already and its up to the team's budget of earning credit (or $ in real life terms) through winning races and championships to spend more on their cars, allowing them to make faster machines. As well, the teams system would be quite close to real life, you'd have a set of mechanics who would deal with purchasing and making further developments on the mechanical and electronic side of the car (e.g.: engine, gearbox, suspension, hydraulics, differential, etc.) and then an Aerodesigner who would do research on the various aerodynamic designs available and choose the most efficient and then a team head who would provide the budget and would make the ultimate decisions when it comes to actually purchasing the parts or not. Then, a cool added extra, there can be prices for drivers. For example, a driver like Biggi or Bawbag would cost say 3 Mil. to hire and then someone like me, 250,000 or something.

Victor actually considered my idea and he said he would think about implementing in future. I think this idea could take LFS waay above the competition.

I like your concept too Intrepid but I'm just thinking that for it to be fair, the developers would have to do some serious protective programming to prevent other teams hacking the game and gaining access to the other teams' cars, thus using it to their advantage but hey, I suppose if that happens, you could have LFSFIA to deal with it.

Well, if you want to know when the first high nosed or "shark nose" car came out, I believe it was the '91 Benetton. I could be wrong tho

Nice car. Reminds me of the JGTC 350Z from the front. Juicy specs too , 473 HP will certainly give the big boys, Ferrari and Porsche, a run for their money. Just need to wait to see how it handles.

Quote from tristancliffe :I am willing to put a three figure number (£xxx) on you NEVER getting a paid drive in anything I would consider decent - FBMW, FRenault, F3, F1 etc... Sorry, but you have the wrong attitude, a complete lack of experience (Irvine was racing at quite a young age, and Hill was a decent bike racer whilst still young), no money, no realisation that no company will give you ANY money until you are winning...

But if you prove me wrong you have my envy.

Oh, jeez! Cheers Tristan! way to go for encouragement

Yeah, I know in the top half of Ireland, they're maaad about the rallying and the bottom half, circuit racing. I understand where you're coming from ajp but just because most F1 drivers have done karting, that doesn't mean someone who hasn't can't get there. Look at Hill and Irvine, they never done professional karting, just like the position I'm in now, they decided to jump into car racing straight away without any previous serious karting experience. True, Hill had the benefit of having the name of his father, Graham but that doesn't necessarily mean it was a walk in the park for Hill and I'm sure it was quite tough for Irvine as well so just because theres a ton of people who did it one way, it doesn't mean that another way can't work. At the end of the day, what I want to know is and while there may be chance that I won't get there, I want to be in the comfort of knowing that I tried and that I REALLY tried my hardest to get there but just fate didn't have it in for me.

I've pretty much decided that it won't be possible for me start this year so while aiming to compete next year, I will focus on getting my brother in FBMW, school and personally focusing on how I can make a stellar proposal for next year. Theres a karting event thats going to be held in a couple weeks time where first prize is a Rotax RM1 kart, 2nd Rotax Max Senior Kart (CRG Road Rebel Chassis + ROTAX FR125 Engine) and 3rd is just the ROTAX FR125 Engine. Unfortunately, due to exams, I wasn't able to compete in the last few rounds and the final is in a couple weeks but I'll be contacting the head of the track at Ghibli and ask him if I could possibly be put down as a reserve if a driver doesn't show up and if I can win the RM1, I'll sell it to put it towards getting money for FBMW.

Well tristan, my personal financial situation prevents me from even doing the course. It costs 1,980 Bahrani Dinars which is 3,671 Euros which I don't have and before you suggest that I should get a job, they pay peanuts here in Egypt, it would take me 4-5 years to maybe get close to that money and family, not gonna happen because my dad reckons I should just get sponsorship so tell me Tristan, am I sitting on my f*cking arse doing nothing!?

Quote from garph :It's in danger of turning into the storey of the greatest F1 champion to never actually race.

Time to stop talking and start racing I think.

Well, perhaps if you made the effort to read my posts, you'd understand why its difficult for me to start.

Quote from J.B. :
And BTW the German and UK BMW championships are merging next year and are appearing with F1 instead of DTM and whatever it was in the UK. Wonder what that will do for costs...

Merging, eh? Uhmm. If I can find some way then to get in this trainer series this year and hopefully, hopefully, hopefully (for the third time Smile) kind of get promoted to something like that. Man! that would be just perfect! the drivers in that will be watched by the right people Smile

Hey, the lock thing worked but I keep doing the same thing with the suspension but doesn't work . I made sure that the rear suspension was an original value (different from any other setting) but after I repeat the steps a few times, it tells me "I didn't find it, please make a "new search". Just wondering, is it possible to mod hp, torque and weight? because I've been itching to try 1300 hp in the BF1

Well, there are 4 cars that I would like to see and I expect the devs will go in that direction. An LMP car like the Bentley Speed 8, Mercedes CLK GTR, Toyota GT1 or of the like. A high powered supercar like the Enzo, Carrera GT, Zonda, SLR. An LMP2 car like the Radical SR3, Westfiled XTR or something of the like and finally, a low powered single seater with no wings (Formula Ford, Formula Dodge).

and something of the wishlist, a fully prepped rally car, something based on WRC regulations

Well, I'd like to bring something to your attention lads. You say that if I have no previous experience of racing, which I have done 2 official karting races, then what do you propose I do?. I've already mentioned that there are only 2 options and both of them cost the same (National Rotax Championship or Formula BMW Series) so how do I make a log book if they are the only 2 major racing series in region, if you know, please tell me.

Thats the pdf document but I have a newer one based on the 07/08 season. J.B. sorry that I didn't answer your PM, I was just very busy. Yeah, it is in fact 8000 for the course + a full season so its pretty good. I'm going to start talking to my dad, uncles and aunts to see if they're willing to chip in, however, what I fear is that this would mean that it'll either be me or my bro and I really don't like being in that position because either way, one of us is gonna be quite pissy about it and then the one who drives won't be able to focus because of the inevitable argument between him and the other guy that happened before is occupying his mind.

I might just try and take the course on its own to meet the guy who's running it, get some contacts of the series and ask for advice on sponsorship. They may be able to help me.

I appreciate the kind words and advice guys. Honestly, I've thought about karting, true, I'm 17, maybe a bit old for karts but still young enough to prove something. Thing is though, circumstances force me to either compete in the national Rotax Championship which in fact costs around the same amount of money to buy the kart, spares and entry fees to the championship as the Formula BMW Championship. So I have 2 options, either compete in a proper racing car that does lead somewhere or compete in something that even if, by chance, I'm much better than my opponents, I still won't get anywhere. Trust me, I know this for a fact. You may think that I'm wrong but explain to me how Ahmed Ghanem, a name I mentioned before, the guy who won many of the National Rotax Championships but can't nail a single sponsor. True, he's a very ambitious and unrealistic character, asking for hefty amounts of cash from companies compared to me but still, no company was interested. You could say that I'm in a worse position, compared to him, I know that but I'm being more realistic about where I want to start racing. He's talking to companies about 100s of thousands of dollars to "start" racing in race cars. I'm only asking for 8000 Euros (Yes, it is 8000 Euros, like Eight Thousand Euros Smile). Like companies abroad, they see karting as a kids thing, doesn't really prove anything because they're so different to race cars. As I said, I'll write up a proposal soon and actually, I'll be competing in a national karting event that will have quite a good amount of coverage, appearing on many international sports channels so I guess thats good exposure of showing me being serious about racing.

I know its a tough journey tristan, I may not be familiar with how tough it can be but I know myself and I know that I will persevere

and car . Thats how sponsorship works, afaik anyway. Trust me, its like one of those "Raise up a fellow countryman to prove what his country is capable of" kind of thing . Also, I could agree to attending and assisting in promoting their products.

hmm... I like the sound of Vento, kinda really sounds like a car. Let me put that in a sentence to see how it sounds "Did you see the new Alfa Romeo Vento?". Yep, that works

Well, according the document that I received, it costs 8,000 Thousand Euros for the "Rookie Package" which I will be taking since I don't have a race licence and I need to acquaint myself with the car. Then there are practice days which I will most probably go for the half day course which costs 891 Euros per session which if I were to do 3 or 4 of those, the total cost would be between 10,673 and 11564 Euros. Not easy money to come by. In Egyptian pounds, which is the currency I'll be dealing with when it comes to sponsors, it totals out at around 90,000 EGP and thats if I attempt to go after 1 sponsor but I will be sending out my proposal to many different companies, hoping maybe to get 3 which is the maximum allowed on the car, I'd be asking for around 30,000 from each company which really, isn't much for a multinational company. I still have some stuff to do before I can approach these companies but honestly, I don't think the money is that unreasonable.

30,000 EGP = 3,800 Euros
