Quote from jimmywrc :Hi bose, can you explain to me how you do for sign properties on windows having trasparency and reflection?
i use too vray for render in 3d max, but i have try a lot of time to have a good effect, but i can't have trasparency and reflection.I use 3d from richard burns rally that have dds texture files, please if you can send me some screenshot of material slot,so i can learn how i can get it.thanks

If you use DDS with Opaque Alpha channel, it will just disappear and won't give you reflection. You need a glass material.

Quote from jepsertti :Looking incredible so far! But can I suggest that you would make fenders wider, like this: http://media2.turbosport.co.uk ... L-EVO-St_-Urban-2010-.jpg Would fit really nicely for that car (RB4 I mean..)

ye you're right. thanks for the comment, I'll try to do this, because the modelling of this car ridiculous, and I think I'll have to remodel it again to make it wider but I'll try.
btw, I need to change this rear light, it's so ugly

Quote from Bose321 :Since those smudgy shadows annoyed the hell out of me, I started building a new studio scene. So far it doesn't have those damn smudgy shadows... Does anyone have a better material for tires or something? I just noticed this looks horrible with this scene...

decrease hilight glossiness, make the reflection color darker and I think its done. btw, deacrease subdivision, imo.

Quote from tolas :Nice to hear that, and thanks for showing us that 3d ripper thing, it's great fun to play with lfs tracks. That foggy/haze effect is a very simple render hack. You can do same thing in vray using ZDepth pass. Just invert it and place over your final render in PS with screen blendingl; use levels on it to control color and brightness of the "fog". I'm using modo renderer now for most of my work and it has this hack sort of builtin into shader. Very simple yet gives some extra realism to renders.

Tolas, I'm a big fan of your work, tbh.
Have you already tried Arion?

Facebook cover for Core racing.

Very cool but you need more light cache, look at the floor, it's not flat. Add more samples like 3000 +- and decrease the size.

Quote from kiste :BTW Leo.... where is my BF1? I want to publish it. ^^

I forgot it

Quote from e2mustang :wont get mad. there was a color correction option when rendering, like a curve i could of adjusted, but after 5 hours i just wanted to get it out or my pc
besides i suck with photoshop, thats why all my renders are raw from 3ds max. except the xrt burnout, but thats just smoke brush thats easy to do

PS is easy man xD

Quote from e2mustang :Got a request from Kiste, which was a good opprtunity to redo my fzr,coz for some reason i've lost all my good stuff Still needs work, but i made a lot of changes, ie.: projector xenon lights, fixed steering wheel(was flat from front view) added a brand new racing seat, made various smoothing on the body itself, which i shell post in the next render.

So for now here is the render for kiste. enjoy !

Don't get mad, I'll just say..
Car perspective is different from the image.
Rims suck (hahaha).
Play with levels, where it should be dark it's so bright. Go to PS and cntrl+L and then the middle thing, drag it to about 0,65.
The interior of the rim (I mean next to brake disc) should be darker. Ambient occlusion should work.
Anyway, I like this scene xD

Quote from lfsrm :thx leonardo and yes scenery need more soften shadow.
this is my first test with lfs cars, and blender have bad support for triangulare mesh ( square mesh is fully recommanded ).
I will make better render next time, but just one question where I can find or import track ?

no idea haha
I think you need to convert the track first to be able to use.

Quote from kiste :but i must agree with mustang since it looks a bit weird ion the renders. it really looks like it has just two wheels. may change your angle a bit leo.

BTW what about my BF1? :P

Dude, I won't change the angle of the camera just because it doesn't show the other wheel... cmom
