To be honest, i have no idea...

I bought them via the internet and there you can choose a color when buying them. I never tried to mod them at LS Customs... my guess is they can't be modified.

Considering how most players can't drive it's quite easy to win those races anyway... all they usually do is try to crash you and make you spin out, and most of the times they fail miserably. Had a few races last night where catchup was disabled... and my god it was a walk in the park winning those...

I keep spending all the money on cars... now the garage is full and the cars are all fully tuned (almost), i guess i'll start saving for one of the luxury appartments.

I get those little kids in almost every race. They try to crash you and make you spin out, etc. The fun lies in outdriving them and still win the race. I imagine them raging in front of their TV and have to smile all the time.

Every new session i join, i still get 10k for winning the same races i did countless times before already (provided there is around 4-5 people participating in the race)?

Quote from atledreier :How do you guys make money in this game? I seem to spend whatever scraps I get on painting cars so the cops won't ruin them within minutes.

Also, how can you change your personal car? I wasn't aware that whatever car you used in the tutorial would become your car forever and I had a crappy one....

I do races. I start in my garage/apartment and use the phone menu to enter the races, without ever getting out of the garage/apartment (unless i want to go out and have fun). If you manage to win the races you can get up to 10k in one race... easy money.

You can change your personal car(s) when you take them to LS Customs and install a tracker and insurance.

This is getting ridiculous... since the beginning of the week all i get on the streets is the Chrysler knock-off, Franklins car, futo and the same type of truck... NOTHING else! WTF...

^ Yeah that!

70% of the time when i'm online the only cars spawning are the Chrysler Crossfire knock-off and the Futo... so annoying!

The brain and body get used to the acceleration of a car after some time...

I learned to drive with a Golf III Gti with 115hp and i thought it was amazingly sporty and quick, then had an mx5 with 140hp, again i thought it was quick... until i got a 944 Turbo chipped to 290hp and 400NM, bloody hell i had the fastest car on the streets (at least i felt like that)! Then back to 240hp in the S2000... not as quick as the 944, but the revs... i felt like driving a race car...

Now my current toy is the Speedster Turbo with 260hp and 450NM, 930kg. 0-100 in 4.2s... the first few days i had pain in my neck from the acceleration... then got used to it but still felt it's bloody fast... now after driving it for a few months, sometimes i feel like maybe it's broken, which it isn't... your brain and body just get used to the power very fast...

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :angry rant

I'm having the same issues and i'm playing the normal version, not the collectors edition. Why would the collectors edition be different to the normal one in this regard?

Read again, he found the Crown Vic in traffic, not the Stinger GT.

I haven't seen either so far in my game.

Quote from BlueFlame :Yea but any car I drive has 0 damage. That's my point. Regardless of armour, the armour only helps for me to stop getting a locked wheel for a bit longer and allows for less inertia loss when hitting other vehicles.

You're not driving fast enough...

Quote from BlueFlame :I'm talking with just a car found on the street. Ram it into another car or a wall head on and at most you get a loose bumper or a smashed headlight.

Did you read my last post?

I believe random cars on the street have random tuning, some of the upgraded armor, which results in almost no damage from collisions.

Quote from BlueFlame :It's like your playing another game to be honest... at full speed into a solid wall I get less damage here.

Quote from jibber :of course if you upgrade the cars armor they won't look like this

I think this might be the reason. If i drive a car that i've upgraded the armor, it gets almost no damage from collisions. Same with certain cars you steal on the streets, i guess they have upgraded armor sometimes.

Regarding car deformation (excuse the bad pics, can't be bothered with social club):

This was after driving the cars wrecklessly in the city for about 5 minutes each... the crashed trans-am in the last picture is damaged from a single rear end crash at medium speed (trans-am was standing still at a red light).

Not as bad as people say... of course if you upgrade the cars armor they won't look like this.

I'm not so sensitive to low frame rates perhaps? Or i'm used to it since i only play console games since many years now? I didn't have any issues with low frame rate so far (35% into the story)... for sure it's not super smooth like 60fps or something similar, but it plays perfectly fine here (xbox).

I can't understand the people still moaning about the driving physics and car deformation, etc... It's really not that bad, far from NFS/arcade physics. Last time i was driving my sports car with sticky tires in real life, it didn't slide around corners loosing grip like an old muscle car...

After getting used to the new physics, they are very enjoyable in my opinion and depending on the cars you drive they are still very similar to GTAIV (in fact, even better IMO).

Go find a bulldozer at the construction sites and run over a few cars... you'll see the car deformation is still very similar to GTAIV.
