Nord + 458 + Assetto = better than some real life experiences
Maybe I live in cloud cuckoo land but to me this isn't far off a turning point in sims because I sat there on Assetto thinking "this is getting close to being better than some real life experiences I've had driving"
Kartsim just got greenlighted, and that has chassis flex, for obvious reasons Though obviously not entirely comparable to how a car flexes, but it is far more crucial with regard to handling.
I am not sure how you avoided the racist version, I am the same age and I've always known that version.
yes, it does sound like someone screwed him over (and I am sympathetic with that) but maybe they were fed up with the fact they could get away with Pikey's Peak or the 'slope' on the bridge and all the other stuff.
But anyone with even half a brain cell knows that even mumbling n*gger while you're being filmed, regardless of whether it makes the final edit, is monumentally stupid.
And regarding the "if they use it why can't I?" argument Tristan highlighted there... really? Are we really in a working's men club circa 1992?
The BBC's licence fee is acknowledged to be under major threat, the BBC can't actually afford these kind of controversies. Non-payment is already being downgraded from a criminal to a civil case because it was wasting so much court time. But the BBC want an 'internet tax' in reality and that will blow up in their face.
Also, a publicly owned TV station HAS to be more accountable to the public. Because without public support they are royally stuffed, they cease to exist.
And deal with it? What complete and utter bollocks.
It sounds like you lot are offended by those making the accusations against Clarkson. As if somehow people are trying to impose their views on your way of life. I am happy for you, if you're comfortable using ******, pikey, slope and any other racist terms with your friends, I am happy for you. Doesn't mean I want to be forced to pay some archaic tax to fund some moron to do it on TV.
Casual racism is something very easy to define as is casual conversation. It basically describes how a lot of people will casually throw out racist terms without fear of rebuttal. Generally in social situations.
The only reason Clarkson still has a job is the BBC know if they sack him they'll lose a swathe of viewers who pay their licence fee, though begrudgingly, because of Top Gear. Without them passing a UK Internet Licence (this is actually being considered) might be a bit trickier.
Anyway, I knew this would happen eventually. Spent too many pages debating what would happen if Top gear used the N-word... though fortunately for Clarkson he 'mumbled' it. Just enough to have some line of defence.
You can't have a moan at Vettel for saying things on team radio.Firstly it's an interaction between him and his team not him and public and secondly you don't know the full context of the comment.
Props to Ricciardo though. Surprised the gap between him and Vettel. Thought he was going to be Webber V2.0. Showing that RedBull isn't too bad.
Not much Hamilton hate round these parts lately... hmmm...
Impossible in the non-refuelling era. Lead driver always get preference in pit stop strategy. That's why Hamilton fought like a nutcase prior to the first stop. If you're first in you get fresh tyures.
I think this has to be a myth. For arguments sake let's take the disaster 2011 out of the equation. I am not sure how anyone who has twice beaten a reigning world champion in the same car as well as Rosberg (who was superior to Schumacher in his come back) can be considered as not being 'smart' enough to exploit a formula. Unless one considers Alonso, Button and Rosberg stupid.
Also the control at which Hamilton won Malaysia and then to win in a completely different manner in Bahrain is not a 'stupid' driver. This argument comes from the same people who said a driver like Hamilton would suffer in the new era of tyre/fuel management and Button/Alonso/Vettel would excel. Where are they now?
And let's not forget who has exploited 2014 more than anyone? Who left what was at the time a proven race-winning team to join one that barely had scraped any success in the years post-09 preceding the move?
No doubt I'll be called a fanboy, admittedly I've followed Hamilton since he was 8 so you can forgive me on that one, but stupid he very much isn't.
Hmm.. I think he showed he has a good chance of a WDC. Hamilton is the better racer and probably overall the faster of the two... but Rosberg has plenty in the bag to fight for the title.
Tilke is extremely limited with regard to stuff like cambers and so on... the problem isn't him it's the regulations that are now required for modern circuits.
First my comment was in jest, and secondly I have been around motorsport for 27 years... and if there's one thing I have learned - when everyone has the 'same' car it rarely means the 'best' driver wins.
If they were saying n*gger or p*ki we wouldn't even be having this debate, they'd be pulled off the air with immediate effect. Slope, Pikey... all are racist terms that come from exactly the same stable. That's why we're scratching our heads. Laughing at those slope or pikey joke is the same as n****r and p*ki jokes.
