I used the skidpad to learn the limit, driving in circles and just keeping the tires chirping and not screaming has proven useful to me. Try it and see if it works for you.

Tough to beat the classic combo though: a proper hamburger with homemade strawberry shake( which contains actual strawberries, no mcburgerking stuff)

Find out about melatonin supplement, it could work. At least for a few nights. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melatonin
It does work for some people and there are no side effects as far as I know. A few of my family members have used it. Only thing you need to check is that it's not the extra strength version. I'm not sure if it's sold in Finland though.

We're just a bunch of apes hurling through space on a hunk of rock. IF there is a being that created all this it was definitely just for lul'z.

On a more serious note: I think avoiding belief is impossible as a human. It seems to be a basic tool. Is it not belief that makes thoughts and images in our heads seem real? This is what makes superstition possible imo. To anticipate an event before it actually happens is a great asset, we just get carried away easily.
I think religion is only an indicator of how strong this ability is, non-religious people blindly believe in other things just like religious folk and not only when it comes to religious matters. I know I probably do as I have noticed this about myself on several occasions. Reevaluation is "the cure" though.

These kind of films are great as a source for more questions not answers, so debunking it only serves its purpose(maybe not the purpose its authors were hoping for exactly.. maybe). I just watched some and it seems the way a few responded in this thread goes inline with what they say in it.

It actually inspires hope at least if one goes along with the future they suggest. This planet has always been a scary place for all living things, it still is. Would be huge change if one species actually escaped this cycle.

I remember reading an old interview, that I can't find now, with either Chapman or someone else who had worked close with Jim Clark. One comment that stood out was Clark's remark on steering into a slide to correct oversteer.

It's something I've managed to do in both simulators and karting, though not intentionally and mostly when trying to correct bigger mistakes.

Like danowat said it's psychological and probably manipulating brain chemistry with some natural Melatonin(not sure if you will need prescription for this in your country) Don't get the synthetic... and I ahve no clue about the difference of the two, just advice I'm passing on from some who used it. ..or pot, also helps I heard.. but not so legal.

I had this too, due to fear and worry, in my case and some anger. What worked for me was to beat the s*** out of a punching bag. Make sure you watch your knuckles even with glowes. The skin can peel. Or kick it. Maybe have some one, or youtube, show you simple techniques. Stress is fight or flight response so naturaly it prepares you for some sort of battle, so it maeks sense that this works.

EDIT: Maybe some sauna afterwards as well, relaxing. Also the wrists can hurt if you punch too hard with inproper technique and the bag is very hard, so don't punch all out maybe, just throw more punces to use up the energy.

In XFG small slides cost you time. In slow corners you usually slide on exit and it's usually understeer. In fast corners you usually slide going into the turn and it's usually oversteer. You lose huge chunks of speed, well relatively, with a small slide in the turn after the long straight, split 2. There you need to come off the brakes as early as you can, but focus on car balanse and no sliding, focus on the rear wheels, make sure they stay on the limit(or close) but not over it.

OT: In turn 1 in first split, the focus is on the exit where you want the front wheels not to slide.

I think it doesn't matter whether you use very strong brakes or soft or anywhere in between, it still comes down to traction sensing and skill. I remember Loeb making a note on the WRC car used in RoC, he said the brakes were a bit too strong for his taste, he still managed all right, but surely was not completely comfortable. It's like in rental kart the brake force and bite point in each kart varies hugely yet the fastest stay fastest, they just adopt.

Could just be too much sugar in your bloodstream, holidays do that.
Maybe caffeine or.. now this part I know very little about, but was told about, so very shaky if it's actually true, but worth considering: too much flavor enhancers such as MSG(found in junk food, most souses and potato chips to name a few) and aspartame(artificial sweetener) these can cause excitement as they overstimulate the reward system of the brain.

You really have to find the cause yourself like lerts said. It can be as simple as you jsut need to exhaust yourself, badminton is a good way to do that, indoor, relatively cheap and available in most places.

EDIT: hehe oops saw that BAMBO's suggestion already worked. nevermind.

Now I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask this, but I am too lazy to register on racesim central forums or blackhole. I did browse those forums for this and there seem to be no answer other then to reinstall netkar and the logitech drivers. I did(deleted all the folders I could find) and the problem persists.

There seems to be some sort of lag between my g25 input signals and netkar. This is most notible when I simply sit in the pits with fresh tires before turning the engine on: just turning the wheel back and forth I get these chopps in the steering that are very strong and very sharp. The wheels also chop exactly with the feedback, they skip as if I have very low FPS eventhough it's up in the 180's(AMD x2 3.0 ghz, geforce 98000gtx on everything low just to make sure or on higher settings with around 100fps). Only the ff and the wheels skip, well as well as the virtual wheel in teh car. This sort of delay is also notible in the controler menue, when pushing any button repeadetly it lags behind every other 2 seconds and skipps as if the signal did not get through. The axi also confirm this, a slight lag can be seen in the bars when moving them.

This doesn't happen in the intel sim, there all the signlas get through properly without any delay, though I can't get it to run otehr then that, the car just warps around.(but I don't care about this, it's netkar that i'd like to use).

I did run a repair on the .NET 2.0, will reinstall it when I get back later today. Otehr then that I'm out of ideas. Any thoughts?

EDIT: I uninstalled my antivir program my printer(these two combined have messed things up before) and .NET as well(just to makes sure =P ), reinstalling .net and nk pro it all works well now- no need for help.

Well I used to be completely right handed and right footed, but driving kart and LFS got me using my left side much more.. most turns being right handers, as well as braking with the left foot. I played tennis for a while before LFS and had zero ability with my left, now I manage much better. Even have started to do other things with "the wrong side."

Quote from traxxion :If I look at other posts from you here, there is no way you couldn't have seen at least one of the numerous typos in your thread title. If you're too lazy to fail-check a thread title, I'm too lazy to help.. it's funny how some people think everyone will just jump all the hurdles of spelling and grammar mistakes and still have enough breath to post a helpful reply before the finish.

I think it's funny how people think... period.

I will give one of those seemingly useless lengthy replies when a simple one could still do it.. I just feel like it.

It's a good thing you uploaded the lap to lfsw, easier to explain. Lets for now only focus on the last turn, the hairpin with the bumpy downhill approach. Say you want to improve your speed at the finish line. This turn is the place that descides that speed.

(I'll assume you haven't used this tool before, so I don'w have to explain it later) Compare you lap with Juergen1975(click c after you name then c after his and then the hotlap analyzer button, if you're not sure how).
In the window that pops up we will only focus on the squigly line in left buttom corner(if you haven't changed the original layout). Make sure that "sync" is activated(bright blue), you can find it on top of the window third after Juergens name, click on it to change it's status.

NOw click around randomly in the speed graph you see a vertical line appear, if you click hold and drag it will "play" that part of lap. Go to the last turn, it's the big dip on the right of the graph. Check who's red who's blue and notice how your speed is much higher right at the entrance to the turn. In fact if you were to compare yourslef with Worm on that exact spot(just open another of analyzer window, you're still faster there(other racers can get away with that, but forget that for now).
What this does is make it harder for you to be early on throttle in the turn. To illustrate it simply: just record another spr that you will analyze. But this time in the last turn focus on braking in a straight line waaaay longer then you alawys do... just riddiculously "miss" the turn. Simmilary to what I do in the lap I uploaded, I overdid it and also did a poor job of it, but you get the point.

Eventhough I'm slower then you there, I still end up going faster at the finish line.

yepp all that to say you gotta be earlier on throttle to go faster after turn, but i also wanted to show how you can look for such things yourself play around with the hotlap analyzer it's an awesome tool, I for one enjoy it quite a bit.

It's not that you have to be early on the throttle, this is obvious, but how to do it and what's stopping you is the tougher bit to see, this tool lets you see that.

Then of course just being fast out of a turn is not all that there is, see how my last turn is still slower then yours? I loose all of it in the braking. So what you really want to do is to shift the speed balance a little bit. Less in to the approach and more out of it... this automatically makes you go on throttle earlier.

BTW: there's no need to brake longer in a straight line, the line is not important the speed is.

...it will never be the same.

Wonder if they will ever be able to increase human reaction time, would be cool to try, even with the apparent drawback.
