We will be racing on the 4th, usual time.

We consider Cebit more important than another league's race on another day than our race.

Touring car series use it widely. WTCC, BTCC, DTM (okay, DTM is a prototype series, but they call it touring ). FIA GT also uses it.

Using the passengers is a bit much of ballast, they weigh what? 75 or 80kg? Depending on the series, 100kg is the max, in DTM it is even less (20kg). Besides, how do you put a passenger in a GTR car?

What's the problem with OLFSL on the 5th? We are racing on the 4th (if the majority votes for that day), from 12:00-18:00 CET. Doesn't interfere at all with the OLFSL race on the 5th?!

Quote :I have already suggested, that 2/3 (or 1/3) of uncounted lap should be measured in seconds and then subtracted from the overall finish time. This would be a fair way to give teams the exact time they lost because of this bug, unlike giving them a full 1 lap which they didn't make.

If we did this, this wouldn't really help. As soon as a team is a lap down or up, it only makes a difference for cars within the same lap. You can't say that due to the added or subtracted times it changes the lap count because you never really know what would have happened, if...

So we can only say: a completed lap is what counts. This might be hard at times but overall, it is the only way that is fair.

It was pretty tragic and we had a hard time deciding that. But with so little distance between the first two cars we could not risk a crash due to that.

There is no full replay. I got the last 7 hours or so and will provide it tonight.

I know it should not be like this and I wish it could be done another way, but it can't. Unless you have 15 admins that watch all 15 drivers and manually count every lap. We are using the tracker which is the best we can have. It works just like LFSWorld btw, there a lap that isn't finished isn't counted as well.

From personal experience (remember, I was disco'ing as well), I know how tough that is, but it can't be helped. I disco'ed 100m before the finish line the one time...

Pierre: no, it's not quite like that, but say you disco at the end of a lap, then rejoin, drive another 3/4 lap and disco again you basically lost two laps in the time of one. That's how that much of a difference comes around.
24h - penalties

Unfortunately, we need to start early with these.

Start phase penalties:
1. ITEK: DT - hit shock.fx in the first hairpin (before split 1), resulting in spin
2. mb e.V.: DT - hit HfD on the exit of the uphill right hander, resulting in spin

No penalty given for the incident between teamnic, cyber and tHUNder. No car could be blamed more than the others for this incident so no clear judgement on who caused the cyber's crash could be made.

No penalty given for dR's crash, was the driver's own fault combined with lag.

3. Pedal to the Metal Racing - shift+s (+1 lap)
4. tHUNder racing - shift+s (+1 lap)
5. Estonian Endurance Racers - shift+s (+1 lap)
6. Estonian Endurance Racers - shift+s (+1 lap)

After examining the logfiles, 2 more penalty for shift +s have to be given.
7. Shock.fx Lap 124 after 12 hours. Review pending...
8. Ocrana XRR 10 minutes before the end of the race

Since it didn't work too well last time and since we got quite a few new teams here, I'd like to clarify the starting procedure a bit:

First of all, we will have a flying start. A pace car will lead the field through the first lap of the race. The pacecar will drive as quickly as it can for the first 2 sectors. Do drive in single file (one row) according to your starting positions for that time. After the last hairpin, you will need to sort yourself as double file, meaning 2 rows of cars.

The pole sitter will be on the left side, meaning P2 right side and so on. The pole sitter will drive at 80km/h from the point the pace car pulls into the pits and the admins will give the green flag. Race is free once that is given.

It is your responsibility not to crash during the pace lap. If you crash, spin out and so on, you must go to the end of the line. If you are crashed out, you must still go to the end of the line. You may file a protest for such a case and if it is approved, the penalty for the team that crashed you will be a stop go.

There will not be a restart in case of a crash in the first few turns. No restart votes! Also remember the no-chatting rules.

Other than that: good luck and most importantly lot's of fun everyone.

The big race isn't far away, so it's time to get the little things organized.

First: pls name all the drivers that will participate for your teams (Real names and lfs world nicks). We need that, as usual, for the tracker. If teams don't manage to submit all their drivers and the tracker gets messed up due to this, they will be deducted half of their laps that are done by a non-signed up driver. So take care with this.

No team that hasnt so far will say anything about a committment for the rest of the season?
Team Applications - Acceptances

This is the situation: we have 6 open spots and more teams that applied than spots.

So for now we decided on admitting the following four teams:

1. n!faculty Team 2: #17
2. tHUNder Racing: #18
3. Team POD: #19
4. Lehnitz LFS Team: #20

The remaining two spots will be given to two of these teams:

High Fidelity Racing
Estonian Endurance Racers
Team XFR
Lehnitz.Speedlink Rookie Team
Team Speed Fighter

The decision will be made once we know which of these teams is committed to stay on board for the remainder of the season. If only 1 or more than two teams want to stay on, we will give the last spot to who we feel has the most promising team.

Team XFR: does your teamname refer to the car XFR? Because only the GTR class is allowed in the MoE.

We will decide about new entrances before the first qualifying, so before Jan. 7th. I'd go as far as saying we should use Jan 1st as an application deadline, but I have had no chance to discuss this with the other admins.

Yes, it is possible. But we are getting quite a few applications atm, so an application is not a guarantee, that you can take part. We will most likely giving those teams who sign up for the rest of the season as well a preferential treatment.

Also, in your case, it is possible for you to change the team, but only once. Meaning that if you start the 24h with Team Speed Fighter, you cannot race for another team after that.
