ended up being a dll from the Ghostcar mod that was breaking it. Works fine now once I renamed that dll.

no one has xfire's in game messaging working with LFS?

Here are 2 helpful suggestions that got me over many of life's hurdles...

1. Turn LFS in to a drinking game.... Everytime someone pits you have to scull

or

2. Play LFS in a Internet cafe wearing only a pair of fluffy dice

has anyone got xfire to work with LFS? It crashes my LFS if I have xfire configured to allow in game messages. If I disable in game messages it's fine.

Great advice guys thanks heaps however if I were starting from scratch, how does one determine the top straight line speed? Which of the ratio settings is best to tweak first?

Davo you mentioned copying WR set's gear ratios, I'd like to know what procedure they used to get those settings.

Hello all,

I spent most of yesterday evening trying to set up the gearing in the FOX on AS club. Normally I would download a setup (from Inferno for example) and use their gearing set up, I then adjust tyre temps camber, suspension, diff etc to my liking. I do however want to learn how to set up the gearing myself.

Most of the guides say to setup the gears so that top gear is just about redlining at the end of the longest straight. Is there an easy way to do this? I seem to run in to trouble trying to space the gears correctly to get the most out of the top gear.

Bob's Gearing calc helped somewhat, but I don't really know what to aim for (revs on gear changes etc).

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I'm really enjoying this track, I'm still trying to tame the last downhill chicane before the final straight however.

Does anyone have any driving or setup tips to get faster through there?

One of the problems I'm having is when coming off the brakes for the initial turn in I lose the rear, just need some tips to get maximum grip through those corners.
