What you are using here is jpg but has gif extension. Maybe that's the problem?

I'm listening to Cars.

Info for MPR could also show racer names? Much helpful figuring out what race exactly it is.

For me, driving in chase view in LFS is closer to real life driving experience. Because of peripheral vision (trying to drive in cockpit gives me kinda half-blind feeling), + seeing back end of car compensates for not feeling forces. Also viewpoint is bit higher than other views, so I can see track better - can't use high resolutions with my not so high end hardware. So obviously I do drive in view that feels best for me.

But I don't go "muahahaha" about people who use other views.

Also I don't understand what has oval to do with this topic?

Not only mirror but also ability to look around and set as default view. Maybe I'm wrong but this should be work of minutes, as other legal views have all this... :/

Oh well... Just the way you described it seems quite cumbersome. How many parameters "press" takes is up to you tho , and it wouldn't be that hard to keep track of what key was last pressed, I guess? Would be much easier for user.

Anyhow, thanks again for that Enter thingy.

Seems like a poor design to me - why not just "press F9 F10"?

First, thanks for putting in my suggestion about Enter key for race setup screen. But second, unfortunately there's problem with this too. The join function doesn't work unless you are first to join the grid, i.e. works only if large button on bottom right says "no drivers", otherwise Enter key sets "Ready" without joining grid first.

Also my idea was that Enter key should toggle "Ready", i.e. be equivalent to clicking that large button on bottom right corner, no matter what's written on it.

Thank you for attention. :-)

I like that quick track selection, good idea. But as already said, there should be way to select reverse configs from there too, best probably done with on/off "Reverse" button below tracks list.

Hotdog was talkin about downforce not force feedback.

And that can be adjusted in pit stop (change from F12 menu). But all that is off-topic again... :/

One event could be every time when car is put on track (in grid or pits). Unfortunately I have use for it...

InSim still outputs real speed I hope?

Quote from Scawen :You don't really lose anything, apart from the ability to have multiple colour schemes for one skin, but I don't think that's really needed.

Doesn't that break making color schemes for AI drivers?

While we are at views, why doesn't chase/follow/"the arcade" view have virtual mirror, possibility to look around and can't be set as default view? I drive in that view mostly as I find sensation it gives most realistic (no (rude) comments on that please).

Mirror & possibility to look around in that view would be very useful for replays also, in case some purists think everybody should be forced to drive in views they like...

Yup I had clutch set to axis too when first started U10, was quite confusing, as it took some time to realise what's wrong. Have MS Sidewinder BTW.

Quote from axus :Can I suggest a little system for leagues that shouldn't be too hard to code and would be quite nifty? Save a qualifying order at the end of qualifying as a .whatever file and then be able to load it again later if you are an admin. I don't think there's any reason for this not to be compatible... but then again, I don't know much about how LFS works Its just a bit annoying when you have 20 cars on the grid and you have to order them manually from a list on a little piece of paper or something.

Actually much better would be if admin could add racers to grid (+ maybe with option to disable normal join at the same time). Little extra button in connection list, and/or command /add <name> or something. Dunno if it would require lot of changes to (net)code, but it would be very useful for leagues.

Quote from Scawen :And the batch / script / command file system could be a powerful tool for many other things in the future as well, not just changing your LFS setup for each car.

Any plans to have variables & control structures? C-like syntax?

LFS "boing" collision detection in real life: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5135594293614867066.

And yes, I think also that it definitely should be improved (in LFS that is). This "boing" system makes otherwise serious simulator just feel silly... :/

Shift + S in spectate got lost when S2 came I think... Time to put it back perhaps?

Scawen, one little suggestion that has been on my mind long time already. In race setup screen, Enter key is unused... So here's suggestion: until you not in grid, Enter could function as "Join", and if already in grid, then it could toggle "Ready".

I'm keyboard fan, so the less mouse rally the better...

For unknown reason these instructions assume that WinZip is installed - should show how to do it with plain Windows instead (though built in zip handling is new to XP I think?). WinZip isn't good program... Guess it's not free also.
