tbh. i really hate broadcasts where they show lfs with the arcade view or with shift+u and the cars drive through the camera. that's why i only wrote custom cam
I mainly agree with the people saying that the option is giid but some configuration options must be added like moving your virtual pov "inside the cockpit" like you want.
But don't forget the spectators. I see no point why the cannot use a custom view. => Allow custom views for spectators
But if you track the cars through NLP packets you can store for each car at which node it is at the moment. -> Flag Y for Car C + Node N for Car C => Flag Y for Node N
Ok I did a translation on google from english to spanish and from the results I can say he wants the following:
He needs help in writing an insim application which acts like on the (sh***y) Cruise servers. There you need to buy you cars and you loose your car if you just quit, spectate or go to pits when you are not in the pit lane/the pit spots.
So he wants to write an app which forces the driver to park in front of the pit boxes in order to go to the pit setup screen.
Well I think the idea is a good one and I think it would be a good release event for a new track. Like an invitational (you know all the famous guys) race with practice, qualification and race live broadcasted and when the race is over scawen hops in and releases the track ;D
yea sure. I just wanted to say that you probably can only monitor your own pc->own server connection which is useless for the majority of drivers because they have no server (and probably wont get any ip/port/ pw)
-> insim isn't the choice for such an app but hooking network traffic or sth. like that
but... then you need the server admin password and ip or you can only measure the packet loss on the local pc which should be 0.00000000000...00001% ^^
I don't think scawen does not want to fix that bug, but it's probably a lot of work to correct the whole collision system with proper car damage. You know, card bouncing back on walls without damags isnt very... realistic ^^
There have been a lot InSim changes in the last Patch which results in
a) The RaceManages uses an old incompatible InSim Version and cannot talk with LFS anymore.
b) LFS can now handle multiple InSim connections which makes the gatewas obsolent.
c) Well see a) ;P
Well if you want to detect user who drive in reverse in the pitlane the only way is direction. If you want to detect people who are spinning you need heading. If you want to detect everything a mix of both would probably be the best ^^
well outgauge should be "closed" if the insim program which requested outgauge disconnects (this is a lfs flaw). and perhaps lfs should send both apps outgauge packets. but that would probably need a outgauge-sending-system rewrite and isn't very good on a "dedicated patch X2" (or are we going to get x2 client version, too with the inism changes?)
