Quote from three_jump :good point, but why not allowing all views for spectators?
(if it's already that way, I'm sorry... haven't tested the patch myself yet)

EDIT:
Mark, what's wrong with you... you agree with me???

tbh. i really hate broadcasts where they show lfs with the arcade view or with shift+u and the cars drive through the camera. that's why i only wrote custom cam

I mainly agree with the people saying that the option is giid but some configuration options must be added like moving your virtual pov "inside the cockpit" like you want.

But don't forget the spectators. I see no point why the cannot use a custom view. => Allow custom views for spectators

Meh, forced cockpit view w/o filter or indicator in the serverlist?

Looks quite nice, except for the wipers (?; the thing on the windshield ) because I never saw a BMW with only one of them.

I don't understand what you mean by options of coordinates...

What exists are the coordinates for each node on the path -> http://www.lfs.net/?page=coderfiles PTH files

ok, then the next thing would be a <marquee> button which dances around on the screen from left to right ^^

It means causing yellow for car C.

But if you track the cars through NLP packets you can store for each car at which node it is at the moment. -> Flag Y for Car C + Node N for Car C => Flag Y for Node N

But it's possible with racetracking.

You just need to track which car is at which node and you are almost done.

You are connecting to the local running LFS, aren't you? Did you try sending the buttons to Connection 0 with local flag?

Afaik you can save a replay but then no new one is recorded...

You could probably join the server, wait 5 minutes, save the replay, disconnect and does that in a loop, but that would probably be very irritating.

Ok I did a translation on google from english to spanish and from the results I can say he wants the following:

He needs help in writing an insim application which acts like on the (sh***y) Cruise servers. There you need to buy you cars and you loose your car if you just quit, spectate or go to pits when you are not in the pit lane/the pit spots.

So he wants to write an app which forces the driver to park in front of the pit boxes in order to go to the pit setup screen.

Well I think the idea is a good one and I think it would be a good release event for a new track. Like an invitational (you know all the famous guys) race with practice, qualification and race live broadcasted and when the race is over scawen hops in and releases the track ;D

But... well... *dreaming*

yea sure. I just wanted to say that you probably can only monitor your own pc->own server connection which is useless for the majority of drivers because they have no server (and probably wont get any ip/port/ pw)

-> insim isn't the choice for such an app but hooking network traffic or sth. like that

Quote from wheel4hummer :You have to count the packet loss yourself.

Send the following IS_TINY packet (in hex):

04 03 03 03

and LFS will reply with (in hex):

04 03 03 04

For network programming, I suggest python.

but... then you need the server admin password and ip or you can only measure the packet loss on the local pc which should be 0.00000000000...00001% ^^

Quote from GruntOfAction :Excuse me? Some patches will probably turn out incompatible anyway. And plus I figured it was a dire enough glitch to be fixed.

Oh well. Guess people will be flipping and a flopping from now on when they hit solid objects

I don't think scawen does not want to fix that bug, but it's probably a lot of work to correct the whole collision system with proper car damage. You know, card bouncing back on walls without damags isnt very... realistic ^^

There have been a lot InSim changes in the last Patch which results in
a) The RaceManages uses an old incompatible InSim Version and cannot talk with LFS anymore.
b) LFS can now handle multiple InSim connections which makes the gatewas obsolent.
c) Well see a) ;P

Quote from Mikkel Petersen :weather, huh?

Yeah you know... Clear Day, Cloudy Afternoon and Cloudy Morgning in the top left when selecting a track...

Well if you want to detect user who drive in reverse in the pitlane the only way is direction. If you want to detect people who are spinning you need heading. If you want to detect everything a mix of both would probably be the best ^^

Quote from Becky Rose :There's a really cool feature I had an idea for - but it seems the dedicated host does not support running an AI so I cant do it - if the AI bits can be #included into the dedicated host that would be cool for what I have in mind... It's really cool btw - did I mention that?

If it's not possible then so be it, no point loosing sleep over, but it would be really cool .

Really cool.

well outgauge should be "closed" if the insim program which requested outgauge disconnects (this is a lfs flaw). and perhaps lfs should send both apps outgauge packets. but that would probably need a outgauge-sending-system rewrite and isn't very good on a "dedicated patch X2" (or are we going to get x2 client version, too with the inism changes?)

Quote from the_angry_angel :...Naturally pretty simple to implement with TCP InSim.. slightly trickier with UDP since it's stateless, but it could be faked by sending an ISI followed by an IS_VER request and then listening for the corresponding IS_VER reply, then setting the connected member?

Or even better: set a request id in the ini and wait for the Version response to the ini packet
ReqI //If non-zero LFS will send an IS_VER packet
