Quote from deggis :I find Last.fm's "similar artists" quite useless... because it lists bands that other people have also listened. So there's no guarantee that band y sounds even remotely similar than band x.

You may be right, but at least when you have scrobbled, lets say for 3 months every song you have listened from your collection, it can learn pretty darn well what to play on "recommended station", or "neighbour station".

Pandora rocked the 90's

..But Last.fm > Pandora, because you can integrate it to any player (if not natively, via lastfmproxy), and send info of even locally played mp3's with audioscrobbler plugin.

"Demo Racer" itself as a term makes me tense
Of course I'm not personally against anyone for just driving the demo, but the stereotype of people that usually have:

* played the demo version for months, or even years
* < 15 years of age
* no manners
* special characters or something related to drifting in username
* when not speaking bad english, they use excessive leet speek, and lol's
* demand (usually drift-related) content in improvement suggestions section.

It's a completely different matter and up to everyone themselves, does that stereotype exist or not...

EDIT: And for instance the nicer frokki recommends everyone who likes this game to buy S2. It's SO much value for your money! Years of fun..

This topic sucks so bad (even more pointless than the best movie maker -topic), but I just MUST reply, just like I "must use" my right to vote in every possible election.

[bad sarcasm]At first I have to apologize for not stating the most important elitist names, who do their shitload of work voluntarily behind the curtain, but reflexively reveal their teeth when they notice I didn't mention them (which is actually impossible because I may have never heard of them). [/bad sarcasm]

Am I the only one who didn't like this vid? Am I the only one who watched it all just to see if there had been even 1 good joke?

The technical side (recording, editing) was enjoyable and something I couldn't do, but there were very few own innovations content-wise, everything has been copied, plagiarized, or just not funny.

I hate to give negative feedback, but this one just failed as a joke film.

Quote from danowat :Yeah, the LX6 is fun, but for it can be frustrating in it's "one slip up and it'll rip your face off" style, the LX4 is just as fun as the LX6 but it more controllable on the throttle.

I've always thought the opposite, with LX4 you go more on full throttle (=boring), while with LX6 you HAVE to control the throttle.

Both cars are definitely the cream of LFS, but for enjoyment I'd pick LX6 over 4 anytime.

I've always felt the LX4 a bit lame, and too predictable.

I have to agree. It's like a Golf, except it looks better and drives better.

I know that the exact moment the shift light flashes is theoretically the most optimum shifting point, but for some reason in almost every car I have used to shift a few hundred revs or few tenths of a second earlier in general (of course it depends on several variables). I don't know why, it just feels more natural to me. I think it's more noticeable in cars with turbo, and/or short gearing.

Am I losing time because of this?

Hey, great coverage! I really prefer watching these races rather than driving , especially now when the broadcast quality has improved so much.

Huh?

Seeing that you have driven over 20 laps only on 2 of the hundreds of possible combos, and yet stating the game boring - I'm terribly sorry for what you've wasted your money.

I don't think that any kind of role playing elements will ever work. The 'nonsense' servers may entertain you for a day, or a week if you have really flying or doped imagination, but after some time they all collapse, while the racers still go round the same track - which this game is all about.

Go buy a WoW. Or Sims. Or a house of dolls.

Divide the price of your favourite version of Vista by 5(e), and you get helluva lot of months with Cedega with the same price.

The lack of FFB is really unfortunate

The other option is to buy Cedega (5€ per month).

But as far as I know, there is no way (at least for us "normal" people) to get force feedback (except some old joysticks?) work in Linux.

Quote from Jakg :AM2 MUST use DDR2 RAM, the memory controller is on the CPU, and the memory controllers on AM2 chips need DDR2

This is board specific, isn't it? AFAIK there are some boards that support both.
