Firstly, thank you for nobody bashing me, for just asking a question LOL. I am not bashing the mouse drivers, but most of you have answered the question, re setups for mouse and setups for wheel's.

I did forget to mention, that when nilex gave me his setup, I was actually faster and got a new PB LOL but I was fighting the wheel, as in constantly correcting the whole time, where my setup, I don't have to fight it.

If I continue using that, I would end up with biceps like Van Damn HE HE

LFS Physics - An honest discussion
Fordman
S3 licensed
Hi All,

Obviously I have been about for a while but just of late, I have wondered why I am a lot slower than the front runners, and I keep asking myself, where the hell am I loosing 2 secs per lap. As it doesn't seem to matter what track, what car, I am always 2 seconds slower....I then ask for a setup for help, as I have changed hardware (wheel in that case).

Now I usually find the usual crowd ( Nilex, B2 Storm, Stiggy, Camelx ) and I know I am in for hiding, but I hang in there, and when I ask for a setup, Nilex or Storm provide me with one...but I notice that they are mouse users.....

So I give it a bash, as you do, but you soon realise, a mouse setup is really no good for a wheel user.

We was racing tonight, and sitting still on the flat black top, my wheel was moving to the left on its own, but yet they was putting in 50's on FE Club Rev.

Considering LFS is classed as a pure sim, is the mouse driver really that much faster than a wheel driver?

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting to break WR's or such, but I was just amazed at the difference of setups. I have the WR setups, and my wheel doesn't move an inch.

So is LFS really a true sim now, or are the physics and tyre modeling being exploited...finally??

Like I said, this is an honest discussion, not a hit at anybody or anything, just asking what other LFS drivers have found

Cheers for reading

Is that all....

Fictional tracks so that "we can add crazy funtions"

Another attempt to sell an Arcade Racing game in my eyes

Why don't Codies download LFS + AC and with all their experience / talent (cough cough) Wonga produce the "ultima" Racing Sim...surly they must see there is a market for it

Quote from lucifer-s2 :Hello I cant start this mod on LFS online server.
Server are runing on vps , linux

Airio.con.1:

HostAddr=191.211.246.186
HostPort=29999
HostPass=myadminpw

I get error: TCP ERROR , what to do?

its pointing to wrong tcp/ip address, you need it to point to your internal ip address, not your external one

So if you external address was 85.110.103.15 but your internal is 192.168.x.x that's what you need to point it to...I had the same problem

Sorry to jump on this high speed train, but S.E.T.H how can you comment about updates, when in fact as somebody pointed out, your not an S2 driver anyway, hell your not even a S1 License holder

Why don't you purchase S2, give that a bash then come back here and say, Yeah ok S2 is good, but it needs an update

Some fantastic racing tonight people, all involved. I had a snezzing fit on lap 13, and stuffed it in the barrier, so that screwed my race up, but was a joy to watch.

Can I make a suggestion....1 race 33 laps, it quiet a lot to take in, so what about 2 16 lap races ( depending on track I know ) but reverse grid for second race...this would really add excitement. But take nothing away, it was pure S2 fun tonight, thank you for hosting and organising

View to be saved with different Vehicles

To have the view set/saved for each car. I know you have custom settings, but when you use triple monitors, and you adjust the view for one car, its then copied to the another car you choose.

If you revert make to first car, you have to change it back again.

I.e XFG to FBM.

I have included a screen shot of the settings I am talking about

Quote from The Very End :You are not adressing my main concern, the pick-up driving.

I hear you TVE. We used to have so much choice, that we usually ended missing our friends in server swapping around. Short, sharp pick up races was just so much fun..back then. That is the "key" words, back then. Things have changed.

Although there is still S2 server's these are never used, it's all the demo server's ( won't mention drifting, as I am not a drifter ) or the multiple class of Cargame.

League's are great, like TVE said, if you have the time and are available at that said time and day, which I am not, due to working away commitments.

I have already answered the OP question, but wanted to say, I hear what TVE is saying and he has a valid point. If the S2 "pick up" server's where to be more active, then maybe, S2 would be worth the purchase, but atm, you no better off with just having the demo if you want reg racing online

Really depends on what your looking for. I am not going to paint a pretty picture, here, but if you find an S2 server with good drivers on, every night, you will be racing all night with loads of smiles, but at the moment this is rare.

Saturday is a good day, as cargame.nl for the GTI is always almost full, with some of the best drivers around...during the week, it can be pretty lame and boring, unless you like driving a GTI vs GTR

Like I said, depends what your looking for. I have never entered the "drifting scene" but these look pretty active from the Server list.

So the question is:

Would I spend £24 for S2 right now, at the minute?
From the inside, no sorry I wouldn't, as there is not enough going on, on-line to warrant spending that money. But I only know this as I have been here for years, so have seen the highs and lows, but like I said, depends what you are looking for. You could spend £24 now, and then when S3 comes out, spend £12 for upgrade, or spend £36 for S3, your choice really

All I will say is when S3 comes out, the community and online racing will go mental

Hope this helps
