Because they dont race in the rain... Now they do in some NASCAR series' on road courses so they have rain tires, they didn't before so it was all slicks... On oval it would be way too dangerous to race in the rain... Rain tires would get shredded in 2 secondes...

So basicly last year we had a 2 tier championship as well? I guess the only way to fight that from happening would be to have 1 fixed chassis for everyone? But then that would kill the whole point of technological development in F1...

So you're saying that having cars that have more mechanical grip and less aero and cars with the opposite on the same track in the same championship is a 2 tier championship? They'll each be better at some tracks and be worst in others... Just like McLaren is better on technical tracks and not as good on fast tracks while Redbull is unstoppable on fast tracks, is that a 2 tier championship?

Quote from Mustafur :See this is what happens when you tell the truth. it WAS a KERS pass so please shut up.

The KERS effectively makes a 2 tier championship.

I didn't mean he would've passed in that occasion, I mean't he would've passed on track eventually with or without KERS. And wether it was a KERS pass or not, Webber doesn't have KERS so he should have an advantage in the corner which he screwed up and Hamilton managed to get it well and get on the KERS button to make the pass... A KERS pass still is a pass and still requires some kind of skill.

Quote from Mustafur :KERS pass

I don't care if its KERS or not, it still made for a good show lol. KERS killed a couple of passes and ruined the races a couple of time this season but this time it made it interesting... I'm against KERS but I'm sure that even without KERS he probably would've been able to pass.

Quote from Rudy van Buren :nah hamilton will be me favorite until the end, but since i know nico a bit personal i just got some good feeling seeing him do wel

Yeah I really liked the way Hamilton drove in Hungary and the way he races in general. He actually races and makes passes on track, I like that... Makes for a good show.

Quote from Bob Smith :There are shifter karts too you know. What's this about MRT5 bashing? It handles so much better than in S1 it's untrue. Just throw about the clutch type diff, it's no good for this car. I've found my S1 sets, with a little fiddling (especially tyre pressures, where things have reversed), work very well.

Yeah but the difference is that karts don't have suspension! :P I agree it would be really nice to have karts in LFS. Different categories too maybe. The slower 4 strokes to 2 stroke and shifter karts.

Quote from tristancliffe :Was the car clearly released in an unsafe state, or was the unsafe state only noticed after he'd started moving? Was the team able to respond via radio (I didn't hear any replies on the broadcast)? If the 'defect' wasn't noticed until after he'd gone, what more could they really do. They weren't going to ask him to pull over if they thought he could get back to the pits, sort the problem and send him back out. The fact that it ultimately fell off doesn't necessarily come to it - all 20 cars might have wheels that fall off, but they are allowed to continue...

The pit guy knew it, he was trying to fix it and never put his arm up but the lollipop man still let Alonso out... It's true that if they didnt know at the moment of the pit it wouldn't be entirely their fault but the guy who was working on putting that wheel on clearly knew it wasn't in properly and didn't put his arm up to let the rest of the crew know he's done therefore its the lollipop mans fault. But like Zeug said, I think a nasty fine would've been more then enough rather then a suspension...

Its unsafe to release a car that's clearly broken though -_-

I agree its an over-reaction but I also agree that it should still be penalized...

Quote from Boris Lozac :I don't think that would be "nice", from Alonso OR Ferrari. It's a bit disrespectfull for Massa IMO, the guy is laying there, and they bring Alonso to drive instead of him, it would look like they are trying to replace Massa, you know, Kimi doing a second place, Alonso there... i think all kind of things would go through Massa's head..

He can always ask Massa... It's not disrespectful imo... Unless everythings done behind his back...

I agree with ATC on this... If it was something random that happened and even the team didn't know about, then whatever, it's racing and things break on the cars like that but knowing that the wheel is loose and not tell him to park it is just stupid... The penalty may be harsh but they have to do what they have to do to get people to follow the rules and avoid unessecary danger...

I think that Alonso will be replacing Massa next race for his home Grand Prix. Off course Ferrari won't object since they know he's a great driver and I doupt Renault will say anything about it, they'll understand.

Quote from lizardfolk :You must have been soaked tea lol. I also remember the mass exodus after Villeneuve crashed lol. He really still has a lot of fans. He got a lot of Canadians into CASCAR

Yeh him and Carpentier had a lot of fans there that race. And no I wasn't soaked. We got there really early to watch the Canadian NASCAR race (which was a lot more interesting then the NASCAR race since it was more sprint-like and the leader crash right in front of me (litterally, I was at the fence and he hit the tire barriers in front of me ) on the last lap) so we had a good spot under a tree which was on a little hill too so it was a really good spot. Not soaked, good spot to watch the cars pass and well get it wrong. A couple of spins there and that crash was epic .

Honestly I only expect to see the VWS, some physics changes and maybe 1 or 2 updates to tracks/car interiors... Then the big one that changes the crash physics with the detachable parts and all the other crazy stuff at the end of 2009 meaning the last day of 2009. As a 2010 present .
