Good, but can get a little repetative, worth buying especially considering you can get it for around £15 these days.

Quote from Greboth :
I will also say, while I have no idea about programming I have done my fair share of CAD modelling and you get looks of people of "it took you how long!?!" So while I don't understand programming I can appreciate how long things can take to do, and to do properly.

Bang on, its my trade, and you wouldn't believe the amount of people who think you press a button and the computer does it all for you...........and thats my boss!!!!!

Quote from NotAnIllusion :Your overwhelming proof of the simplicity of developing and testing accurate models for tyre behaviour, suspension designs and electronic control systems at a pace which doesn't threaten burning out astounds me.

Indeed, smacks of someone who hasn't the slightest idea of the hornets nest that is developing said systems.

Even MASSIVE development teams (PD) take a shed load of time to develop them.

Gotta love forum pack mentality, instead of ganging up on someone, just ignore them.

Quote from Dac :Loving the kiss-ass attitude of some of the posters in this thread, "go on Scawen, take your time, don't listen to them etc etc". Let's get real, there are millions of decent family men out there that still work hard and have a successful career. Since Scawen does not really need to travel for his work it makes it even easier for him. That's not really much of an excuse some of close friends are full time dads yet manage to work hard.

Scawen's comments that he hasn't been devoting as much time as he would have liked is a typical politicians answer, basically he's being doing close to jack-shit but obviously he can't say that just give some short, contrived explanations why it's taking so long. And with the advice to go some place else i'd dare say he'd hardly even started it.

The point is "he" doesn't NEED to say anything, you aren't OWED updates.

Sure, LFS development is hella slow, I don't think anyone can say otherwise, but no amount of status updates, or people saying it should be done this way or that will change that, because thats the way it is, and the way it always has been, like it or lump it.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :£20 fills my car up to just under half a tank.

Cost me £60 to fill mine this morning, and that was before the 4p a litre hike they put on in lue of the budget, thieving bastards.

Quote from jibber :I recently ran out of fuel with my VW Polo Tdi. Nothing broke...

Bit of an urban myth really.

Only problem you normally have is having to hand pump some diesel through once you've run out.

Going back to the tyres, I can find no evidence of "energy" tyres having much (if any) less grip than a "normo" tyre.

Dunno, haven't really given it that much thought TBH!!!!

Michelin state you actually get better wet grip with "energy" tyres.

My trip computer says zero even before the fuel light comes on!!!.

As for the "energy" tyres, surely they don't have much (any?) less grip than a normal run of the mill tyre?

I did think about those "energy" tyres next tyre change, do they actually make that much of a difference?

Yeah, I saw that mythbusters, its along the same line as, driving with the window/s open vs using the air-con.

Thats the thing though, its hard to get accurate consumption figures when you don't brim the tank.

Quote from Framaris :Logically I would say that a 60L full tank is like the weight of a passenger (woman ) and an heavier car means higher consumption....that said I am lazy and always tank full...

Well, yeah, exactly, but just HOW much more consumption is the question.

Quote from Matrixi :And just to note, I try to never let the fuel gauge drop below half.

Why is that?

I drive literally past the door of the filling station everyday, so filling up more offen wouldn't require a special trip.

The only reason I fill up, is pretty much because I can't be arsed to fill up more than I have to!!
Filling your tank, full / half?

Filled my car up this morning, and was wondering, as 52 litres entered the tank, does having a full tank vs filling up half way make much difference to fuel economy?.

I know its a bit anal, but there you go!!, do you "fill up"?, or just put a bit in here and there?

Played the demo, thought it was ok, but the island just felt a little empty, wasn't a great deal going on, unlike GTA where you feel like you are in a living, breathing environment.

Might buy it when the price is right, but its not worthy of paying full price (IMO)

Maybe amongst the PC & PS3 gaming community, but currently, those that exclusively own a PS3, I'd have said they were still very much in the minority, especially considering there is currently nothing available on the PS3 (Bar a couple of demos) that even comes close to offering a "realistic" racing experiance.

GT5's release will probably change that in a big way though.
