This might be a problem with your graphics card drivers. A driver might be corrupted. Try redownloading the drivers for your GPU.

UFR, XFR, FXR, XRR and FZR can have small stickers on the very top of the windshield. This does not require editing .DDS files as the windshield stickers are part of the .JPG skin file. However, you need to have at least an S2 license to drive those cars.

It's probably how guest mode works: Essentially, you're logged in, but your username is treated as null (no characters at all). Since those teams have no members, LFS World thinks you're on all of those, since there's nothing written on the Members line, and your username is treated as nothing.

This is a very common issue when you get disconnected from a server due to lag. Just wait around a minute before trying to connect again and it should work.

Mouse user here. Just regular mouse controls for racing, but I use the mouse-wheel hybrid controls trick for cruising (where you accelerate/brake by moving the mouse up or down). It's better for cruising because it helps you save fuel and tires, but it's extremely difficult to consistently drive fast with this control scheme, so I only use it for cruising.

I have to agree with Racon. While not a "speed hack" in itself, this is exploiting a limitation of LFS (like when people used the handbrake on single-seaters before those were removed from them), which, in my opinion, qualifies as a cheat. Any server admin with a sensible mind would definitely ban you for using this.

Hot damn, that looks amazing! A 100% perfect replica is probably impossible on the FZR, but this looks way batter than anything I tried to come up with. Excellent work!

Tony Stewart killed someone. That is a fact. Whether he did it on purpose or not is another subject. It doesn't change the fact that the guy is dead and it was Tony who ran him over.

But that doesn't forbid anyone from liking the looks of that 2003 car, which to be honest, is one of the best looking NASCAR machines of all time.

It turned out better than I expected, to be honest. I've seen much worse looking pink cars, and the F1 grid needs some variety when it comes to liveries, so I'm super happy with this.

Spanish guys are known for not being very friendly to foreigners, especially if they're South Americans. This is the Internet, bro, and every place on the Internet has its group of annoying little kids. You just have to know how to deal with them.

I have uploaded it. Just had to convert the original .DDS file to .JPG before I could upload it. Should be working fine now.

You do know that if the car keeps rolling back, you can just pause the game before taking the screenshot, don't you?

If this is what the forum is missing out on, then I'm glad I'm missing out on this one, because that mod is complete and utter shit. The fugliest XR I've ever seen in my life.

This is why mods are forbidden: Because they're all complete shit.

I want another F1 car. Maybe a fictional one complying with the 2017 rules (minus DRS, for obvious reasons), or perhaps a more old-school one (V10 era or maybe even an '80s style car).

I love this layout! Extremely fun! Great work, sinanju!
Negative LFS credits after enabling high-resolution downloads
CozmicDragon
S3 licensed
So, recently I was given a voucher and got an S3 license. I checked my account status and noticed I had LFS credit equal to the cost of an S3 license in Brazil (£18). This, I figured, was due to me having been given a £36 voucher, but since the license costs less than that here, the remaining £18 got added to my account as LFS credit.

Since I'm not a very good skinner, I don't make many skins, so I probably won't need more than the 75 slots I have. And since I won't be using server rental or any of the other services LFS credits can pay for, I decided "Might as well use those to download higher-res skins". Big mistake.

So, I enabled high resolution skin downloads on my LFS. They're working as intended. The problem isn't in the game, it's on the website: As soon as I enabled the skin downloads, I went to check my LFS credit again, just to confirm it had deducted the £1 it said it would, and turns out it deducted WAY more than just £1 - In fact, my LFS credit went into negatives the moment the high resolution skins were enabled!

This is a very serious bug. If you obtained your license with a £36 voucher, and you got LFS credit like I did, I advise against enabling the high resolution skin downloads for now (or spending any of those credits for that matter). If I had known it would happen, I'd have endured those low res skins for a while longer!

Below, a screenshot of the problem:

Quote from k_badam :
  1. You posted this in the wrong section
  2. The codies F1 games are rubbish, due to the god aweful FFB (Even Forza has better FFB Big grin)
  3. Why would anyone here care? This isn't an F1 2016 Forum....

While I agree on the first and third points, you're essentially calling all Codies F1 games bad because they're not sims, or essentially, calling all racing games that aren't simulators bad.

Not being a simulator doesn't mean it's a bad game, and the hyperrealism pursuit is killing the racing game genre. Simulators like LFS are almost all awesome, but the less realistic games have their place as well.

Also, Inb4 "How dare you defend this piece of shit? Not being a sim DOES mean it's bad! Ultrarealism of GTFO!!!1!1" comments.

This is a forum where people talk about racing simulators. Codemasters F1 is not a sim, so obviously no one is interested.
FZR - Porsche 911 RSR 2017 Concept Livery

I really liked the concept livery from when the 2017 911 RSR was officially unveiled. Could someone make an FZR skin out of that? I tried to do it myself but it turned out quite badly.

Allow any number of laps to be set for 100+ lap races
CozmicDragon
S3 licensed
I can't believe I haven't seen anyone suggest this.

I tried to have 24 AIs race some FO8's in a 500-mile race on KY1, and I quickly found out I couldn't make the race exactly 500 miles long. Why? Because LFS only allows you to set a number of laps for races with over 100 laps if it's a multiple of 10. (110, 120, 130, etc.) In order for the race to be the closest possible to 500 miles, the race needs to be 268 laps long. But because of this limitation, the closest to that is 270, which will exceed that a little.

Now, I know this is kinda nitpicking, but come on. This made sense in 2003, but we're not in 2003 anymore, this is 2017. This is an old limitation LFS has always had, but I think it's time for it to go.
JOOS - WIND - Strange error when joining a host
CozmicDragon
S3 licensed
Not as much of a bug report as it is a question, but I'll put it here anyway.

I'm well aware of most JOOS errors, but this one in particular I've never seen before, and it only started appearing after the update to 0.6R, particularily on hosts using the new Blackwood area. Sometimes, when someone joins the host, they get this JOOS - WIND error. I don't know what could cause it as, again, I haven't seen this error before 0.6R, but it could have something to do with the new Blackwood area.

Does someone know what could be causing this?

Attached is a screenshot of the error, taken just a few minutes ago on TC. While I've never gotten this error (yet...), I've seen other people get it, so I decided to post it here.

I had it, but I lost it when my PC broke down. I don't know when I can fix it, or if its hard drive is even working, so right now, I don't have it.

EDIT: Just posting this because someone online asked if this skin was posted on the forums, so might as well do it now. It's another 2016 F1 skin, this time the Sauber. Probably of lesser quality than the Red Bull, since this was made before that, but still better than some of the earlier skins (My Renault and Haas are especially shoddy).

It's already on LFSW so feel free to use it.

Just a Red Bull skin I made when I had some free time. This was made months ago, before I even had a license, but I was afraid to post it since I had seen posts by demo users being removed for posting skins for licensed cars. Now that I have a license, I can post it without fear.

It is based on the 2016 F1 car, the RB12, but is far from 100% accurate. Also, no matte finish, due to LFS limitations. I know the blue isn't dark enough, but I just couldn't get the exact shade. It would either be too dark or too light. This is actually one of my first ever attempts at skinning a car, and I made other 2016 F1 skins, but none of them are good enough to warrant a post here.

It's already uploaded to LFSW so feel free to use it. If you want to, you can edit it as well, just make sure you credit me.

I don't know. By what Scawen said, the Scirocco is finished. Only the new tire physics are holding it back from release.

(And yes, you can technically consider this a +1 post, but I just wanted to give my 2 cents on this)
