Heh, someone actually agrees with FF running slow on OSX. Use chrome for my macbook which I got recently from my work. Anyways reorganized my win desktop with another rainmeter skin and gobbling up on my ram by running my usual day to day work apps. Running FF with these apps brings mem usage to 4.9gb out of 8gb

Hmmm.... with REX2 overdrive and Level-D 767 and cfg tweaks from Jesus diaz I get about 25-45 depending of the location. If I fly from KBOS (boston logan) to KLGA (laguardia) I get balanced fps from 20-35 but no higher. 9800gt can't sustain that high tex resolutions and FSX is very CPU intensive to say the least.

My specs atm.-

Core i7 860 @3.6
8gb g.skill ripjaws DDR3-1600 (tighter timings- 8-7-7-22)
1tb Samsung hd103sj and 500gb samsung hd502
Sapphire Radeon 5870 (oc-920/1250)
Logitech g25(use the pedals with glovepie script for rudders )
Logitech g15v2, Logitech g5v2
Saitek Proflight yoke with throttle quadrant.

FSX stuff:
FSX gold, Level-D 767, Captain sim 757 pro, PMDG 747+8 expansion, Wilco e jets v2 with mcfat repaints, carenado cessna grand caravan, POSKY 777, Rex 2 sp3 +overdrive, ground environmentX north america and europe. Will buy more add-ons soon.

I still don't get why people feel insecure when someone gets a system that's overkill for some form of work loads. If they got money and want to spend it on something, LET EM. Why does some lunatic on the internet try to bash a mans head in for buying a nuclear reactor is beyond logic. Example- me. I do heavy photoshop work, 3d rendering and among other things all at the same time and I got a system and did just that. I was still going to buy a new pc anyway regardless of work loads because I just love tinkering with things and like performance pc's......still don't see the point why people go haywire over some other dudes stuff. If you want something, get it. Love it to bits and don't give a flying F* of what the other guy thinks. I do envy the enthusiasts who have overkill systems.

Quote from Bose321 :snip!

Again more watts per channel doesn't necessary mean better. Denon avr's are high quality and better to own like a marantz and to my opinion really better than pioneer has for their crap stuff. If music is your route for getting speakers I would suggesthttp://www.amazon.com/Klipsch- ... id=1285603063&sr=1-12 for rears, http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch- ... id=1285603264&sr=1-22 for front but if room space is your concern then get 2 pairs of the bookshelf's and adjust the gain. For a sub http://www.amazon.com/Klipsch- ... id=1285603479&sr=1-55 or http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Aud ... qid=1285603364&sr=1-2 should give you some deep low bass without distortions. The center http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Aud ... qid=1285603574&sr=1-3 is really good for the price but needs a bit more tweaking to get natural highs. Pick an avr from Yamaha, marantz, denon or onkyo (did some broad research on current offers) but avoid pioneer, sony and etc. Of course all these equipment will need clean power so add a power conditioner to the setup. These will cost you of upto and over 700-900 euros

EDIT: I should add that my living room has all polk speakers and we use the same polk sub I mentioned with a denon avr 591 with ps3,360 and Dish HD reciever hooked up to a 50" samsung PN50B650 plasma from 09' and my room has all handpicked speakers ( I had to assemble them) and a hsu VTF-1 which replaced a re-branded hsu/dayton sub and all hooked up with a Yamaha RX-V765BL 7 channel avr (only use 5 channel) outputted via optical out on my Auzentech X-plosion 7.1 cinema

EDIT-2: do incremental upgrades. Buy them one buy one and see and feel the sound harmonics change. Like buy the speakers and reciever first, then buy the sub to replace the trash ones logitech has and compare the sound quality with both the logitech and the custom stuff you bought. Of course you can shop around and find much cheaper prices. This is going to be a long upgrade routine but you'll enjoy the end results as I am

Get a soundcard with optical-out if going digital or with better op-amps if its analog. Auzentech (any will do) Xonar (even the bog standard one with optical) or x-fi combined with custom PAX drivers and to top it off Foobar 2000 with wasapi audio plugin which should output bit-perfect output without processing. Although this is the most cost effective solution you are still limited by the sub-par sound quality from the logitech speakers. They don't have the necessary punch to deliver the full range of a music track will allow.

Also to add to the receiver option, only go that path if you want to buy all channels (be it 2.1/5.1/7.1) plus the cost of a good sub that can reach at a minimum of 28hz and have a good amp to back it up. This option is much more expensive but will give you that satisfaction you want with your music.

EDIT: I should know because I've done both; bought an Auzentech X-Plosion and replaced it with a bit better op amps and added my own flavor of speakers and a good sub. If you want 2 channel look into Audioengine 5 speakers and subs from polk audio or velodyne or better. For 5 channel setup look for something like jbl, harman kardon, Klipsch or better and use the sub companies I recommended for a 2 channel setup.

EDIT-2: oh and look into marantz and denon avr's if you really want future-proof and quility......ugh I am becoming an audio junkie...another obsession to add to my list

Have a 10mb/1mb connection from Time Warner cable (get advertised speeds despite being TW..weird) and a 100 mb/50mb connection from NY connect for my servers (host my dads business workloads and file storage and also for my usage) just don't ask how much we pay for both.....

Quote from Bose321 :I thought it was rather poor, it's way too arcadish for my taste, even compared to TDU1... And yeah, the roads feel better.

Yeah it's certainly worse. After turning the driving aids off while I was finally digging into the aston's handling the handling felt poor and rough; had hyper grip going through a high speed corner at 190+ seems a tad lame.

Quote from Bose321 :Do you have any experience other then LOOKING? No.

Also, I don't know about the stock pedals, but if you would look at the CS Pedals, you would talk differently. The clamps work perfect, just some vertical play like MijnWraak said, but not that much that it's noticeable when you drive with it. The clamps are IMO easier, just put the wheel on your desk, do the clamps in like a second and done.

If things work don't complain. If others complain don't care because you know it works, my dad says that. A buddy of mine has fanatec 911 gt3rs wheel with the clubsport pedals and he has no complaints about the clamping system. TBH I think its excellent but don't wanna shell out for another wheel until my g25 dies a happy death

Quote from bunder9999 :i just looked at the specs... 2gb of ram? oh, dear lord. nfs world uses 1gb, and looks like utter poopy. what's with games these days?

funny.... when I run TDU2 it only uses 1-1.5 gb and exceeds to 1.9 but haven't tested for memory leaks

mind you I did upgraded to 8gb ram so... got plenty to test things out

Enjoy and ask for more shots if you guys want. Its rar'd(had to since its quite a lot)Megaupload so get em here :

Gotta correct that slight mis-conception on the plasma issue. Although the ghosting effect aka IR is still there no recent plasma tv's after 2007 have burn-in issues dues to gaming and/or pc use, because the production process for panels are better and manufacturers have tech's to get rid of ghosting and pixel displacement to not let Ir get in the way . I should know because I own a 09 sammy 50" 1080p plasma. No lcd LED or projection can come close when it comes to perfect color production and motion adaptability. The burn in scare tactic is only used by numpty best buy employees. True HT devotees will tell you that plasma is the good option when it comes to good gaming.

EDIT: yeah I am a bit skeptical about the performance on those particular chips.....

Celerons are crap anyway............wonder why Intel made them in the first place. Jokes aside Celerons does not have the necessary performance clock:clock to its pentium or the core brothers. Getting a descent playable fps is hard to achieve in a lower end platform
