That's actually a pretty good point. I'll add it a bit later. Thanks! It's good for the beginners to find out how to create good screen shots. And also for others to find out all kinds of different techniques to do something. But then everyone must use .PSD file while editing, otherwise they won't be able to show the steps in the end.
Exactly, people will start to look for help to get an unfair advantage. Don't you have any better things to spend the money on? Not that I care, just saying, you would regret it. This forum is no place to make money, it's all for fun, so if people are willing to compete, they will without having any price. Those who want to compete just for money are probably not even liking the competition, but doing it against their will.
Could you explain more what you mean, I didn't really catch the idea. Do you mean like making a design on cars or making skins with the skinning templates or what? Or just using skins in your images, since that is allowed. Sorry, I don't understand, your point might be interesting, but since I don't really catch the idea I want you to describe what you mean exactly.
P.S. I decided to make the rounds longer, so it will be lasting 3 weeks now. 18 days to enter and 3 days of voting.
We never exactly finished round 79, so I'll give it a second try. Though I changed the topic which will hopefully get this running better. Also, rules have been updated and there are few new rules added, so read them all carefully.
This rounds theme is... "Safety Car on Track"
Round rules: (made by andRo., these will not be changed) Make an edit that shows a safety car on track. The car can be alone or together with the row of other cars etc. Basically, make a car looking like a safety car, but the car must be from LFS (it's not allowed to cut/paste the whole car from other IRL images.) Use skins, other materials, that's all up to you. External images are allowed to be used.
Well, maybe, but if you think about it, what is there really to showcase? It's same LFS, nothing really changed in the graphics etc. Of course it's not forbidden to use those areas to take your picture, but I don't think there will be some sort of interesting pictures showcasing the places, dunno.
Well, it's okay with me, but not sure if it is for others. All I can say that it is very long time to wait compare to 2 weeks, I don't know, but maybe it would drop the interest for the people since they would get impatient. I've had that in local competitions and making it a 1 month long competition didn't change the number of entrants at all. Though, maybe others think we should do that, I don't care actually.
Well, I'm not going to sponsor the money, that I can surely tell you. But if there is someone who thinks he can do that, I don't have any problem with that, but it won't be me.
Hmm, that would only make the situation more complicated and worse. I am pretty sure there aren't that many people who would join it then, trust me. We can't get many people altogether to join this competition, if we divide into 2 different groups, there won't be much entrants in any of the groups.
Also, you can't get good at something without doing anything or practicing. I haven't seen any less experienced people even posting any screen shots in edited screenshots thread, that would only make me think that there either aren't that many people who like doing this or they are not posting their pictures for some weird reason, since by seeing the critics, it's the fastest way to learn something.
Also, I think it's a better chance for the less experienced to be in the same group with experienced since that would only motivate them to get better if they want to come close to any good place. Who cares if you are not winning in the beginning, the most important thing is to participate and improve and if you see that you are getting good results between more experienced people, you will be a lot more satisfied than if you are in the same situation in the less experienced group.
That's just my point of view, if you don't practice, you'll never get good in anything, whining about something won't make your life easier. If you want to be good at something, then just practice, practice and practice.
Anyway, maybe I'm wrong, but for now I won't experience with these 2 groups. I'll see how it works with 1 group.
BTW, I need a good topic to get this competition running again, can't think of anything that hasn't been used already.
I actually remembered about it like a week ago and was thinking of reopening it, but I just thought, that again it will get boring quite quickly and there is no point since nobody almost ever posts anything even in the edited screen shot topic. I had an idea of adding some new rules or something that would make it much more interesting, but I couldn't think of anything that would attract people. Of course, we can give it a try by leaving it the same as before, but will it work for a long time?
Though I guess we can try bringing it back, I'll try to post it today or tomorrow, whenever I have time to do it, but if anyone has got any suggestions on what should be done to improve it, please tell them!
Who cares if it is suspicious or not. How does that change your life? As long, as he doesn't post videos or screen shots (proof) where he is cracking the game, then you don't have any proof. Remember who you were yourself...
Maybe he made the skin just for fun because he likes skinning, but maybe he is thinking of purchasing S2 license, so he made a skin in advance, but maybe there isn't any particular reason, so WHO CARES?
Forbidding demo racers to ask for a render is retarded, then what's the point allowing them to be on the forum at all.
That's it, I've said enough, though I am pretty sure he won't get it anyways, so just get back to the topic.
How is asking for a skin has something to do with DEMO racers abilities to race some car? What you just basically said, is that he is going to race with a render...Demo racers can make a skin for any car, of course that doesn't mean they can use it, but they are able to do it. And if he wants a render for some car, then why is there a problem? Maybe, only because he can't use the skin in game, he wants to see it in a render since it's the only way he can watch it on the car, not counting viewer.
Thanks, as always! The rims are from other pictures that I look for on the internet. Nothing special there, just cut/copy/paste and align them to my picture. Just have to look for it and be patient, for me finding stuff and thinking how to edit a picture takes 70% of the whole time. The edit never takes long, but finding stuff sometimes gets really annoying, that's why I haven't finished quite many of my ideas, just not patient enough to look for things or tutorials.
Great as always! I found the beginning very cool and fascinating, though after 2min it got kinda the same and repeating effects etc. (not talking about the scenes that you've already mentioned), IMO you started off very well, but by the ending you were too bored so you didn't work as good as in the beginning. But overall it was great.
I don't see any sentence where I am "screaming"...and you should read more careful, you got it totally wrong. I never said that I think the values are wrong, I'm saying that you said I hadn't stretched the logos with your method when I had, so basically your eyes are either wrong or you were wrong with the numbers if you still think that when I stretch it with your method it looks like it is not stretched. And please, read it more careful this time before you reply.
For me all logos look okay and not stretched, so...peace.
EVERY logo was stretched by using the method you shoved, so this time you are wrong and you can only blame yourself for giving the wrong numbers if for you it looks like that some of the logos are not stretched because they are.
I mean you will need to make render for me. If you want of course...I'll tell you the details later if I will have any need for the render.
Hmm, well at some places it looks like there is no window (the darker part -> right side of the front window), but maybe it only looks wrong to me, dunno. Anyway, I have no idea what to do to make it better since I'm a noob in rendering, but maybe you can figure out something...
That is some good stuff. Keep working on it, and you might just need to make a request soon.
Try making the rims and tires look not so plastic, but anyway, looks sweet. Also something should be done with the window lighting to make them more realistic. Love the background and the lightning, simple, but good looking.
That was pretty good, I must admit. I really liked the atmosphere, camera work, blur and colors. The only part I didn't like is that it was just one car. I want to see more videos from you editing something with full grids of cars or huge twins since I think you've got some skill.
EDIT: Oh, I noticed you've already got other videos with lots of driving actions, I'll watch them later...
