XP Antispyware 2010 snuck up on me! I was just browsing Lockerz, TechSoft and LFSForum when all of a sudden the stupid rogue popped up. Frightened me like hell ! Removed straight away with the help of Spyware Doctor

EDIT: Just re-searched the registry to be sure and one of my LFS folders, Spyware Doctor and Firefox popped up?

EDIT 2: It was my dad's laptop it turns out. One of the files was the same damn one he got. I have to fix his laptop every week - he really is that bad.

XP AV * and AS * are part of that massive botnet that is responsible for 90% of the world's email spam... tell your dad to stop looking for shady porn.

I got the Vista Antispyware 2010 recently. Popped up out of nowhere. I was due a cleanup anyway, quick reformat of windows, good as new.

Spyware Doctor advertises like it's one of the dodgy rogues, but it seriously isn't. The easiest way IMO.

I recommend hitman pro, twice, one in normal mode and once in safemode (F8 while booting). Takes a full day if you got decent bandwidth, longer on slow network. Hitman pro is a point-click-robot that downloads a lot of free AV-rpograms and thne scans the 'puter with them, you need to help the click-robot sometimes when it gets stcuk but mostly works OK)

Or you can just download and install Malware Bytes or Superantispyware in a matter of minutes and scan for half an hour and be done.
