I have been surfing youtube a lot recently and i have found many alternative remixes of various songs but i am really interested to know where the people who have made these get just the vocal tracks on their own from, like this for example.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fk0Y6Lu_uA

I have googled like a madman trying to find somewhere that i can get acappella versions of songs, as well as PM'ing the makers of these various remixes but with no success, or no reply.

Does anyone know anywhere in general where i could find just vocals on their own. I can find plenty of instrumental versions of songs online, but that is the exact opposite of what i need i am planning to make some mixes of my own.

I have tried removing the music from various songs to leave only the vocals with filters and stuff (audacity) but they just come out muddy and distant sounding, which isnt really any good.

Any ideas anyone???

You may be able to find an option in some DJ'ing applications that allow you to turn the instrumentals off, although it doesn't always work well. Not sure the name of the program my cuz uses, sorry.

I'm afraid to say that you couldn't have done a very thorough search. I just googled for "Acapella" and the 2nd link that came up was one that I have previously used and is usually quite good and has thousands upon thousand of songs on there
